RAW BOAT LIFE SAILING in Thailand This is what travelling in our sailing catamaran, circumnavigating the world is all about, getting out and meeting the local people. While walking into town on the remote island of Koh Lipe, Thailand we passed the football pitch where several local kids were hanging out. Our sailing teenagers got involved and soon more joined and game of soccer ensued. Unfortunately for Ivan, while saving a trio of balls from the goal, he rolled his foot causing injury, a possible broken bone. This is boat life in Thailand, visiting remote islands, camping on beaches and hiking through the rainforest in search of waterfalls and best of all meeting the people. Raw sailing life. It took six weeks for Rob and rowing partner, Phil Stubbs, to complete winning the inaugural Atlantic Rowing Race. Skip forward to 2014 and, married with three children, Rob and his wife Rachel purchased Javelot, a 43 ft Fountaine Pajot catamaran. Armed only with Rob's 3 years of racing P class yachts from the age of 11 to 13, and Rachel's non existent sailing knowledge, We set off to learn the ropes of ocean sailing. We broke stuff, replaced stuff and got to know their boat before heading offshore with the kids, Finn (then 13), Declan (then 11) and Ivan (then 8), in tow. Through trial and error we have become confident wayfarers, kind of. The plan? To sail around the world. Part of the journey will be retracing Rob’s eldest brother Kerry’s travels at sea. Using Kerry’s original letters from the 1970’s we hope to retrace his movements from Australia through Indonesia and South East Asia to Cambodia where Kerry’s life was cut short after straying into Cambodian waters in 1978. Kerry and two friends were attacked by a Khmer Rouge gun boat, captured, tortured and executed. www.brothernumberone.co.nz ***** Follow us in real time on Instagram and Facebook @thecruisingkiwis @finn_hamill @declan_hamill @ivanhamill #sailing#209#TheCruisingKiwis
Episode 035 One of the best things about sailing is you can be as sociable as you like. Whether you choose to stay in a secluded anchorage to yourself or hang out with friends and other sailors, sailboats give you the freedom to choose. When our friends told us they were sailing up to the Bay of Islands, Adam had the key in Tāiko's ignition before I had finished my sentence - it didn't matter that we were in the middle of our cockpit floor renovation. As we currently work to a four week provisioning schedule on Tāiko, we were ready to go. Soon the sails were up and we were on our way to see another beautiful bay. We also had another good friend joining us for the weekend and we couldn't wait to show her what life was like afloat and the beautiful Bay of Islands, New Zealand. We hope you enjoy it! As always, thanks for watching. Sincere thanks to Charlotte Rockstar Jones for composing and recording Te Tāiko's theme song. Please remember to subscribe, like, comment - it helps us out! After a few years of studying and working hard we decided it was time to make a change. We needed a change that would allow us to spend more time together, give us a better work/life balance, and the freedom to travel. While we still had time on our side, we wanted to use it to live rather than use it to chase money. Learning to sail was the answer. In December 2021 we moved onboard Te Tāiko, a Chico40, and since then we have been so fortunate to explore many of New Zealand’s pest free islands and its beautiful anchorages. #boatlife #boat #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailing #travel With our love of travel and adventure, this lifestyle has enabled us to experience so much more than we could ever have imagined. From new experiences to meeting incredible people along the way, our life has been enriched in so many ways and makes us ever so more appreciative of our environment and the footprint we leave behind. Tāiko is our floating home. She gives us the freedom to go anywhere the wind and weather allows. By living a more minimalistic and sustainable lifestyle, she has provided us with a better work/life balance and has taught us to live and be present more in the moment. Tāiko has also taught us to be more independent and less reliant on services. Some of these experiences have taken us out of our comfort zone many times but as the saying goes, ‘a comfort zone is a wonderful place but nothing grows there’. Our plan is to do blue water cruising. So, over the next year we will be completing some maintenance work on Tāiko and be getting her ready to meet New Zealand’s category 1 requirements to be able to go offshore. In the meantime, follow along with us as we navigate this new lifestyle whilst sharpening our skills exploring New Zealand waters. #boatlife #boat #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailing #travel
From the moment we moved aboard Starry Horizons, I've always felt like there had to be a better way of identifying and tracking all the maintenance and work needed to keep her sailing safely. My spreadsheets were good, but they could only do so much. So together with my brother, we've finally built a better solution. Introducing Maintenance Right on Schedule: https://MaintenanceROS.com We’ve assembled a large (and ever growing!) database of official maintenance schedules for marine equipment. You can search, customize or even create your own tasks to personalize the maintenance schedule for your boat. And it really is personal. We’ll predict when you need to do that next oil change based on how often you actually use your engine! Not only can you track maintenance, but we have a library of checklists you can use for your boat as well as a 'to-do' list feature for all those small things that need to be done. Sign up at https://MaintenanceROS.com/ for a 14 day free trial and use code “outchasingstars” to get 20% off your first 6 months. This has been such a passion project and I’d love to get feedback on how we’re doing and what else you’d like to see. Thanks for all your support!
We finally lay down the carbon fiber layers on our forebeam, and then start work on some bulkheads, including the largest one, which we dubbed 'Big Bertha'. After seeing all the progress we made on our 50' performance/cruising catamaran this week, we go over what we accomplished in June, and what we expect to get to on our sailboat in July. So come watch Captain Blood, Admiral Marianne, and our XO, Brian, as we construct our DIY catamaran so that we can take her on a circumnavigation of planet Earth. Email: ohglorioussanding@gmail.com We forgot to mention the dates in the video, but we'll be traveling the east coast roughly between August 30th to October 1st. A couple of quick notes: - Our labor will be free in return for us being able to film. - We'll provide the labor - you provide the materials. - You don't need to be in the video, but if you'd like to, that is cool too. - We can spend anywhere from 2-5 days per boat, but then we will need to move on to keep some variety in the videos. - Your project must be located on the east coast. - You don't need to worry about housing us or transportation.

After 4 months of pulling everything apart, and 8 months of rebuilding my 46 year old boat now has a modern interior and a really high tech propulsion system. Since fitting the solar panels I've never plugged anything in, and we use power just like we would in a house. There's no thoughts on energy usage, no diesel, no petrol, no gas, everything is electric, including the dinghy motor!
Sometimes the most simple tasks are painfully difficult! Definitely the case with setting up these new clips on bungee cording. The lower M section of our lazy jack system deteriorated after 8 years. I temporarily used paracord but that didn't work as well as the bungee cord. Too hot for clothes - Sailing Thailand It is the ideal time to be living on a sailboat, out on the ocean, getting the sea breeze flowing through our sailing catamaran, because there is a heat wave engulfingThailand, making it too hot for clothes, nude interlude? If you like hot and humid conditions then this is the place, it's over 40 degrees Celsius which equates to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, an ideal time to hit the gym for a bit of Muay Thai fitness training. Kerry and two friends were attacked by a Khmer Rouge gun boat, captured, tortured and executed. www.brothernumberone.co.nz ***** Follow us in real time on Instagram and Facebook @thecruisingkiwis @finn_hamill @declan_hamill @ivanhamill #heatwave #cave #TheCruisingKiwis
B&G navigasyon aletleriyle kavuştuk! NMEA sistemi, MMSI bilgileri, hız/derinlik sensör değişimi. #99
Ayırca her yıl biliyorsunuz tekne altındaki hız/derinlik/ısı sensörünü temizlememiz gerekiyor. Denize dalmadan onu nasıl kolaylıkla yapabileceğimizi öğreniyoruz. Yani bu bölüm yine dolu dolu 😁 Ama henüz montajımız bitmedi... bir sonraki bölümde devamı gelecek 🤙 Umarız keyifle izler, beğenir ve kanalımıza abone olursunuz 🫶 İyi seyirler şimdiden✌️ 00:00 Cihazlara kavuşma heyecanı 01:23 kutu açılımı 03:03 sigorta poliçe uyarısı 04:12 navigasyon cihazsız denizcilik 08:35 Elektronik cihazlara güven olmaz 10:40 Fizibilite 14:42 Neden cihazlar değişiyor? 17:52 Yıldırımda cihazların korunması 19:48 Haydar usta 20:44 Grafik okuyucu montajı ve kapak kullanımı 22:06 Promar hk. 23:09 NMEA protokolü/sistemi 24:07 Chartplotter montajı 28:51 GPS anteni montajı 30:14 Diğer cihazlar ve özellikleri 31:25 MMSI nedir, neden başvuru yapılır? 34:28 Diğer cihazlar - devamı 35:26 Sensör değişimi @promardenizmalzemeleria.s4795 @Promar Deniz Malzemeleri 👩🏻✈️👨🏻✈️ Sosyal Medya📱 İnstagram: eleven11sailing Facebook: eleven11sailing Podcast: Eleven11 Sailing / Götür Beni Denizlere https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeqD99MDinbGrnMRkzYdgdxLVKroa9vys https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeqD99MDinbHftguUvrkFSjNkjFL0hCJl https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeqD99MDinbHXtj78EaasYMD6PLReS0Jm https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeqD99MDinbEb5TkeyXqg3Cot2v2w7KEB https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeqD99MDinbEDV7fLjDGvTcwzgYDyaCmn https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeqD99MDinbFZOjbIvU50GNmUy_tgdL1c #denizdeyaşam #eğlence #eğitim #yelkenli #sailing #tekne #sailinglife #boatshow #sailinglife #yaztatili #göcekkoyları #denizifilmleri #yelkenlifilmleri #yelkenli #deniz #mavi #eleven #elevensailing #tekne #eleven11 #sailingeleven #koy #gocek #göcek #solo #solokaptan #hanseyacht #hansetekne #eleven11sailing #bilgi #amatördenizci #solohayat #tuzluhayat #tuzlusu #kadın #kadınkaptan #denizden #denizci #denizcilik #yelkenvideoları #teknedeyiz #turkuaz #açıkdeniz #kişiselblog #sailing #sailingkanalı #koylar #hanse #hanse455 #hanse460 #hanse458 #hanse510 #boat #yelkendünyası #yatdünyası #yatçılık #adb #adbehliyet #kmt #gezi #seyahat #geziyorum #türkiyekoyları #türkiyem #ülkemingüzellikleri #yelkenli_tekne #tatil #ege #akdeniz #tekgövde #monohull #adyk #amatördenizciyiz #flok #anayelken #fullarma #selftacking #otomatiktramola #tramola #kavança #alestayelken #tekbaşıma #tuzluhayat #deniztutkusu #hobi #yelkenhobisi #deniz #denizci #denizcilik #denizler #denizden #yelken #seyir #mavitur #b&G #navico #chartplotter #navigasyon #sensör #promar #NMEA #nmea2000 #mmsi #telsiz #VHF #nmea #cihaz #cihazlar #elektronik

This DIY wooden sailboat is launched and as she floats, and the videos will continue far into her journeying. There is plenty aboard to finish, build, and perfect. We are at The WoodenBoat Show this weekend. Come see us at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut. We motored here on Arabella! https://www.thewoodenboatshow.com/ You'll notice a talented en plein air painter at the end of this video—that's Mariah Little. See more of her work at her website: https://www.mllfineart.com/ or on her Instagram feed: https://www.instagram.com/mllfineart/ In this video, we give a sense of the two weeks at Buzzards Bay Yacht Services, where we worked very long days so we could motor to The WoodenBoat Show in Mystic, Connecticut for this weekend. When it comes to all the detail of the work there, we'll definitely be telling you more soon. We even fire up the diesel engine to come around the wharf in Mattapoisett. This is a real treat. We hope you get a sense of what it was like to be there with celebratory crowds, our families, and each other. It'd be a misnomer to call this a finish line. It was definitely a milestone. Thank you very much for all of your support and for watching. It means the world. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a wooden boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve started as an amateur wooden boat builder building a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that classic wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY boatbuilding project will continue well past launch, when he and the crew will travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat supports A2A! Summer is here, and so is the unbearable heat. If you're lucky enough to have an air conditioning unit, now is the time to give it some love and attention. Your AC is your best friend during these scorching months, and you don't want it to let you down when you need it the most. So, let's shine up your AC and beat the heat! ## Got AC? Here's how to make it shine! First things first, let's start with the exterior. Your AC is exposed to dust, dirt, and all sorts of debris, so it's bound to get dirty. That's why it's important to clean it regularly. Start by wiping the outside of the unit with a damp cloth. If you see any rust, use a wire brush to scrub it off. Don't forget to remove any leaves or branches that might be stuck in the fins. Now, let's move onto the interior. The most critical part of your AC is the air filter. A dirty air filter not only affects the efficiency of your unit but also the quality of the air you breathe. It's recommended to replace or clean the filter every two to three months. If you have pets or allergies, you might want to do it more often. Check your owner's manual for instructions on how to access and replace the filter. Lastly, if you want to go the extra mile, you can give your AC a tune-up. Hire a professional technician to inspect your unit, clean the coils, check the refrigerant levels, and make sure everything is in working order. You'll save money in the long run by preventing costly repairs and prolonging the life of your AC. ## Don't let the heat get to you - clean your AC! If you neglect your AC, it will neglect you. A dirty unit will struggle to keep up with demand, resulting in higher energy bills and less comfort. Plus, a poorly maintained AC can lead to health problems such as allergies, respiratory issues, and even carbon monoxide poisoning. Cleaning your AC is not only about appearance but also about functionality and safety. So, don't wait until it's too late. Take care of your AC, and it will take care of you. In conclusion, your AC is your best friend during the hot summer months. Don't let it down by neglecting its maintenance. Follow these simple steps to shine up your AC and beat the heat. And don't forget to give it some love and attention throughout the year. Your AC will thank you, and so will your wallet and your health. 📢 Our Website: https://www.chrisdoeswhat.com/ 📢 See Our Recipes: https://www.dininginwithdanielle.com Tools In The Garage: 🛠 Milwaukee 18-Volt Drill and Impact Driver Kit https://amzn.to/366BwxM 🛠 Husky Mechanics Tool Set https://amzn.to/3kuGUzD 🛠 Angle Grinder https://amzn.to/36FaC09 🛠 Forney Easy Weld Welder https://amzn.to/3romDR1 🛠 Welding Helmet https://amzn.to/3wOq58z What We Us In The Kitchen: 🍽 KitchenAid https://amzn.to/3x0T8JY 🍽 Roasting Pans https://amzn.to/3jahTLq 🍽 Cooking Sheet https://amzn.to/3JcEa5O 🍽 Kitchen Utensils Set https://amzn.to/3Kg9xOg 🍽Cutting Boards https://amzn.to/3KhzdKw 🍽 Kitchen Knives https://amzn.to/36USV0d 🍽 Kitchen Oven Safe Pans https://amzn.to/3DGkfuY 💎 Have a Website?

Sailing the world! How we do it How do cruising catamarans and sailing yachts circumnavigating the world find their way from port to port? And when they get there how do they know what to see? Where to anchor? and what to do? We owe a debt of gratitude to the passionate yachties who have gone before us. Sharing their knowledge through books, websites and sailing maps that we share with you here. And while we are on the subject of passion, we are sailing our floating home through world famous Phang Nga Bay, heading north to Thailands only floating fishing village, which is famous, but not for the reason you would suspect. It's a beautiful story of how the children of Panyee floating village who come from humble beginnings were able to triumph over adversity when they built a floating soccer field from wood, nails and any scraps they could find. They practiced hard and against the odds went on to win the regional championship not once but seven times. With Passion anything is possible. Kerry and two friends were attacked by a Khmer Rouge gun boat, captured, tortured and executed. www.brothernumberone.co.nz ***** Follow us in real time on Instagram and Facebook @thecruisingkiwis @finn_hamill @declan_hamill @ivanhamill #sailing #floatingvillage #TheCruisingKiwis

Episode 034 Well it's my birthday. Something I have been wanting to do for ages since coming to the Bay of Islands, New Zealand is to walk to Russell from Opua (well...technically Okiato as we catch the vehicle ferry from Opua). Since it was my birthday, Adam kindly obliged. We usually sail to Russell and have driven to Russell but we have never walked to Russell. Walking gives us an opportunity to see things we wouldn't usually see if we had sailed or driven, such as visiting Okiato which was New Zealand's first capital. It's a truly fantastic and beautiful walk. Yes, there are many steps which make it challenging, and a certain level of fitness is required, but the views and landscape are absolutely breathtaking and make the challenges worth it. From walking through native forest to wetlands and through mangroves, this walk has something for everyone. It took us 6 hours to walk the 8 km track but we rewarded ourselves for our efforts by visiting Hōne's Garden, of course! We hope you enjoy the information from Adam about New Zealand's ecosystems! We hope you enjoy it! As always, thanks for watching. Sincere thanks to Charlotte Rockstar Jones for composing and recording Te Tāiko's theme song. With our love of travel and adventure, this lifestyle has enabled us to experience so much more than we could ever have imagined.

To sail from Panama to the Galapagos, we were told to head South on this passage until you reach the trade winds but we didn't realise how South you had to go or how difficult this may be and that we may also end up going North West and South East while trying to get West. The other thing that made this passage particulary challenging was dodging the lightening storms and dealing with the not so nice weather. Oh well I guess that is sailing..... Before going, we needed to organize and protect the big floor tools in the shop, such as the big band saw and thickness planer. Arabella had to be shifted toward the driveway about 20 degrees or so in order for the truck to have the room it needed... how do you move very heavy things? Carefully and with smarts. We arrived in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, and only a couple days later put the masts in this sailboat for the very first time. That means we immediately began working very hard here at Buzzards Bay Yacht Services. We do a bit of step welding. Merhaba, Sailing Avare ekibi (Pamuk dahil) Saint Maarten’ de Caribbean Education and Culture Foundation’ın düzenlediği Erasmus projelerini izleme olanağı buldu. Sevgilerimizle, Avare Hello, The Sailing Avare team (including Pamuk) had the opportunity to monitor Erasmus projects organized by the Caribbean Education and Culture Foundation in Saint Maarten. Association managers Mesut Bey and Dinçer Bey introduce people to the projects they produce with their project partners and participants from various countries of the world, enabling communities to get to know each other and establish peaceful ties. Various programs are available. For students and for adults. They have been contributing to the lives of hundreds of young people for years. They allow them to open up to the world. The projects carried out under the roof of the European Union bring together the young people of many countries and enable them to understand each other better. Mr. Mesut and Mr. Dinçer, whom I know thanks to my daughter Zeynep, are also flag carriers at this end of the world. They and many people I meet here do very valuable things separately. They are achieving great success behind the scenes. It's hard not to be proud. We were very happy to meet you with the beautiful young people and beautiful people we met here. Listening to your stories was enjoyable. The ties we establish are very valuable to us. The world will be more hopeful and beautiful with young people like you. We have no doubt. We had the opportunity to watch 3 very valuable projects every moment. We attended cultural nights. There are training and production times during daylight hours. The award of these very effective times is culture nights. I ask those who watch the video to share this video with the young people around you and allow young people to access such opportunities. We think encouraging them to investigate is the most important benefit. Avare
