In this episode Maru and I finalize everything at the marina and get ready to sail away. Finally finished with all sailboat projects, we are cleared to leave my marina slip and begin life on the anchor once again. We spend that night anchored up and sail out just at first light. Sailing on the open ocean with the sunrise was beautiful! Making decent time under less than ideal sailing conditions with the motor on. We arrive in West Palm Beach inlet and anchor up. Ready to do all our errands and sail over to the Bahamas. This one is a slower episode than my usual adrenaline pumping stuff. But I want to show more of what goes into this lifestyle. Sneak Peak of our latest listing, the magnificent Privilege 495: 'Dancing Walrus'. The owner, a young man from Florida, who single-handedly (.... well with his Labrador Freddy) took this boat from one side of the Atlantic to the next (backwards and back again), and then pretty much circumnavigated South America, stopping via the redoubtable Falkland Islands and getting through the Magellan Strait, something even Joshua Slocum found a sailing equivalent of climbing Everest, and which has been explored by boat by less humans than have been in space .... a feat Dancing Walrus took on like she was born for it and a real credit to Privilege Catamarans. (Who thought cats are only champagne boats, right?) Back up towards Peru and then onto Panama, they sailed on to Tahiti, got stuck in Covid lockdown through 2020 and then made a dash to Fiji at the first opportunity. They are now here in our backyard. Now off market, but a very interesting video to watch if you seek inspiration on how to fit out a similar boat for live-aboard living and independent world cruising. Boating from the Florida Keys to the Bahamas in our Contender Boats Center Console in order to go fishing for Big Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna! We take you with us on our Bahamas fishing trip where we get into a tuna frenzy and get tight on a Giant Mahi Mahi. We start the day by heading to our local tackle shop to acquire live bait to do some live bait tuna fishing. Once we acquire bait, we cross over to our first Bahamian Island, Bimini. Boating to the Bahamas can be tricky so we take our time boating from Florida to the Bahamas but once you get there its an unimaginable feeling! Once we arrive in Bimini we check into the customs and head the boat north to do some Bahamas Yellowfin Tuna Fishing. We spend the day get sharked unfortunately but we eventually make it happen by catching a Blackfin tuna, Yellowfin Tuna & a Dolphin, Mahi Mahi, or Dorado. Boating can be dangerous in the dark therefor as the sun sinks we make our decision to head towards west end and end our day fishing for Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin tuna in the Bahamas. The next day we get and early start and cross the boat back over to the Florida Keys. Once we arrive back at our home we do a good ole Catch Clean and Cook, but not just any catch clean and cook... Cut fish into bite-sized cubes. Set aside 2. Prepare the marinade by mixing the soy sauce, lemon juice, ginger, chili, garlic, and sea salt. 3. Mix the fish into the marinade, cover, and marinate for 15-20minutes. 4. In a large pan add oil, pour in the marinade and add the honey and sesame seeds. 5. Mix together until the sauce starts to bubble and gets thicker/saucier. 6. Add the fish and cook for a couple minutes on each side. 7. Take off the heat and garnish with more sesame seeds, spring onion, and red chili sauce. 8. Enjoy! In this episode my buddies & I go back to the Fort Pierce South Jetty for another epic kiteboarding session! Winds climbing up to nearly 30 knots and kicking everyone up high. I keep my Woo on my board and record my new persional record of 33.4' high while on a crazy string of jump boosting off the outside waves. Winds stay soo strong that we pretty much have the place to ourselves. But not everyone was feeling the fun. One angry old guy tries to get in my way repeatedly. Thankfully only causing a bit of drama and no accident. After that, me and my buddies had a super fun long session together. Everyone was boosting high. My buddy Derek even getting 50'+ high!!! My new crewmember Maru flies in and joins my crew aboard "Adventureborne". We spend the next several days getting her and my sailboat ready to sail for the Bahamas. It's a bad idea to take a boat from the dock, right out into the ocean. So we've been sailing and anchoring for several days. While finishing up a few refits. Maru and I do an unboxing of a ton of stuff from "First Wave Coffee". A local roaster here in Fort Pierce Florida. Then we teach Maru how to paddleboard and relax at a beautiful island. Sailing back to the marina, the next day we pick up some of my friends for a final day out of sailing and fun. Tons of laughs all around as we anchor off the ICW(Inter Coastal Waterway).
