Join us as we get ready to start our 2023 sailing season after 7 months alongside in Montenegro. It’s time to get the boat is ready for the season with a shakedown sail and pre season rig checks and other essentials. After so long in the marina we’re both a bit anxious about setting off and with a 3 day passage for our first intended sail we find ourselves asking if we should wait a bit longer. #liveaboardsailboat #lifeonaboat #sailboat #raymarineuk #sailaroundtheworld #liveaboard #sailing #boatlife #sailinglife #sailingpreparation #thissailinglife #medsailing #sailingthemediterranean #areweready #shouldwestayorshouldwego patreon.com/FollowIntrepidBear https://ko-fi.com/followintrepidbear Follow our boat on Noforeignland https://www.noforeignland.com/boat/6427841673560064
Deciding to make our next jump or to stay... The swell gets too big with the high winds and we decide to not go our planned route from Vieste to Trani and instead we turn into a cove and anchor for the night tied off to a cliff. This area was full of beautiful beaches, massive caves, and bright blue water.

From the 23rd to the 25th of June Cantiere del Pardo celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in Portopiccolo. The event began on Friday with an exquisite gala dinner that gathered the whole Cantiere del Pardo Family: Grand Soleil Yachts, VanDutch Yachts and Pardo Yachts. On Saturday, sailors raced the special edition of the GS Cup and Vintage Cup, while VanDutch and Pardo's owners participated in the first-ever Water Rally. On Sunday, Grand Soleil concluded the celebrations with the last day of sailing and awards. Thank you to all sea lovers who took part in this very important milestone. It was an honour to celebrate this occasion with Cantiere del Pardo's family. Here's to the next fifty years!
We like to define Cantiere del Pardo as a modern workshop of beauty and creativity, where technical knowledge and craftsmanship meet creativity, design genius and technological innovation to produce nautical masterpieces of absolute excellence, in the wake of the highest Italian tradition. Deep connection with the territory, ability to combine technical knowledge and creative intelligence, and a clear, decisive and unmistakable aesthetic. From these values, the sailing and motor boats that have made the history, pride and prestige of this extraordinary Italian company, for more than 50 years, are born.
The 21st edition of the Grand Soleil Cup, part of the celebrations of Cantiere del Pardo 50th anniversary, will feature not only the traditional competition but also the Vintage Cup, making it an unforgettable experience for all participants. Discover more on https://www.grandsoleil.net/

Explore Croatia aboard the Lagoon 51, our most innovative catamaran. _______________________________________________________ CATAMARAN INNOVATORS SINCE 1984 Lagoon was formed in pursuit of connection – with ourselves, our loved ones and the world around us. By bringing the human experience to the 7 seas, we’ve been able to unleash an unbridled sense of curiosity and instinctual need for quality since 1984. Something we wouldn’t have accomplished without a collective passion for spectacular destinations and even better journeys getting there. As confirmed sailors, we all know that our boats have to be fast, comfortable and safe: seaworthy. We build them based on our love of the sea and the constant aim of good-quality work. We design them as if we were the future owners. As shipbuilders and sailors, it is part of our logic. This is part 2 of our two-part interview with Simon and Sawyer, a father and son team, who will be sailing across the Atlantic for the first time. They will also be joined by Simon’s dad for the trip, so it will be three generations crossing the Atlantic. They are prepping to cross the Atlantic in their Passport 40 sailboat. We discussed all of the various elements of planning such a trip. Most people tend to focus on preparing the boat, which we covered in detail in Part 1. We also discussed making sure the crew is ready for such a trip and the weather routing service and communications systems they will be using. Since this is a longer episode, so we broke the interview into two parts, this is Part 2 - Episode 85. If you missed Part 1 you will be able to find as Episode 84. If you would like to support the podcast, we now have a Patreon page. Just go to Patreon.com/sailingtheeast.
