Anfang Februar sind wir für ein paar Tage in die Heimat geflogen sind. Ämtergänge standen an. Eine Formalie, dachten wir. Aber da hatten wir die Ausländerbehörde in Arzums Heimatstadt in NRW unterschätzt. Aber das ist eine ganz andere Geschichte. Eine sehr, sehr lange dazu. Neben Celle, Hamburg, Hannover und Gummersbach freuten wir uns besonders auf einen Besuch bei meinem alten Freund Sven Kraja in Schleswig. Sven kenne ich vom Strandsegeln. Und vor drei Jahren habe ich in seiner Segelmacherei Frog Sails eine Art Praktikum absolviert und zugeschaut, wie er die Segel für die Dilly-Dally gefertigt hat. Für unsere geplante lange Seereise hat Sven dieses Mal eine Menge wertvolle und ausführliche Tipps auf Lager (und auch einige Materialien), für den Fall des Falles, dass auf See die Segel Schaden nehmen, die Gurte reißen oder sich Nähte lösen. I have a 2nd hand 48V scooter battery that's perfect for my outboard motor. Not only will it extend my cruising time, but it's more compact and can be put in the front of the boat for better stability. The harness i'm making today is to just test it out next time we go sailing. I also get some new metal grinding bits that make short work of reducing the diamter of my back rudder'spintle so it should now slide properly into the existing points on the transom of the dinghy.
