It is a lap of the globe starting and finishing in Barcelona (Spain). This is an extreme sporting challenge and ocean adventure that puts human limits to the test. Organised by the Fundació Navegació Oceànica Barcelona (FNOB), the regatta is part of the IMOCA Ocean Masters World Championships. The start of the race is on the 31st of December 2014 at 13h00, with the starting line positioned opposite the W Barcelona hotel at the city's port. The finishes are forecasted for the end of March 2015. With the start of Leg 5 of the Volvo Ocean Race being postponed due to Cyclone Pam’s predicted course heading straight down the east coast of New Zealand, the In-Port Race was held on schedule in glorious sunshine belying the ominous weather that was forecast to arrive in the following days. . The all-girl crew of Team SCA led the race from start to finish and became the first team to win two In-Port races in the 2015 event. All crews were gearing up for the testing Southern Ocean leg which will see them round Cape Horn and head to Brazil. Dale Lorimer was dockside and on the water for the In-Port race and captured the colour and action of the day in this video.

Negli anni ’60 l’IRI era indicato come modello positivo di intervento dello stato in economia; nel 1967 Petrilli pubblicò un libro intitolato Lo Stato imprenditore: validità ed attualità di una formula, in cui veniva esaltato il ruolo dell’IRI nell’economia italiana, e che fu tradotto in diverse lingue. Negli anni ’70, con la recessione, la funzione dell’IRI cominciò ad essere messa in discussione, ma Petrilli rimase presidente. La sua gestione fu criticata per la tendenza ad accentrare i poteri di gestione su di sé e su pochi dirigenti a lui fedeli (che vennero soprannominati “gli alani di Petrilli”). Notevole fu il suo scontro con il presidente dell’Alfa Romeo Giuseppe Luraghi, che finì per dimettersi dalla carica per sottrarsi alle pressioni ricevute per realizzare un terzo stabilimento Alfa in Irpinia, collegio elettorale dell’allora ministro dell’Industria Ciriaco De Mita. La sua immagine fu offuscata dall’emergere di alcuni scandali finanziari che coinvolgevano le società del gruppo e dai cattivi risultati di gestione. Nonostante ciò, Petrilli rimase presidente fino al 1979, quando divenne senatore eletto nelle liste della Democrazia Cristiana. Nel 1985 la procura di Milano avrebbe chiesto al Parlamento l’autorizzazione a procedere contro il senatore Petrilli per la costituzione di fondi neri, derivanti da somme sottratte alla disponibilità di alcune società controllate dall’IRI. Surprisingly, for a small, hilly, but not mountainous island chain, Palau has several waterfalls. The most well-known and visited waterfall is Ngardmau Waterfall. At the waterfall area, there is Taki-Palau Eco Theme Park. The theme park offers 3 ziplines along the descent from the parking area to the waterfall, and a monorail train that also descends to the waterfall site. Ngardmau State collects a $10 fee to visit the fall, then visitors can pay extra for the fun theme park options to descend or take the lovely walking trail that follows some historic rail tracks from former bauxite mining and over some rocky cascades on the way. The fall doesn’t have a pool for swimming, but forms a bridal-veil-type falls that people can walk under for a refreshing massage, and a pleasant view of nature. Imbarcati sul Castelverde, dalla Stazione Marittima di Trieste partivano verso l'Australia i primi emigranti triestini: alla ricerca di soluzione a problemi di lavoro, che non consentivano una serena esistenza ai neo costituiti nuclei familiari o che, addirittura, impedivano a tanti giovani di potersi formare una famiglia nella loro città. Affrontarono l’esperienza pionieristica con nel cuore l’intima speranza che quel salto nell’ignoto potesse essere solo una parentesi nella loro vita, un qualcosa per riuscire a creare delle solide basi in patria. ...Due anni e poi torno... era il saluto con cui rincuoravano i parenti al momento del distacco, era l’illusione in cui credevano in quel momento, quasi un autoconvincimento della validità dello loro scelta. (...) Un piccolo riconoscimento alla loro silenziosa operatività, che ha portato oltreoceano con ammirevoli risultati ingegno e competenza nostrani, senza nulla chiedere se non di trovare un posto nella memoria di chi è rimasto.
