Only a small portion of the buildings were excavated. There are countless mounds that are additional ruins.

I did two dives. In between dives the captain brought the boat to a shallow area that is popular for snorkeling with Stingrays. I had my first encounter with dolphins while diving, but they got away before I got my camera out. Also saw a Whiptail Stingray.

‘Woody’ wins third successive Historical 18s Australian Championship title Aberdare, with John ‘Woody’ Winning at the helm, won their third Historical 18 Foot Skiff 2016 Australian Championship in as many years on Sydney Harbour late today, despite being pipped to the post by the Harold Cudmore skippered Yendys by two seconds in the final race. Hosted by the Sydney Flying Squadron, the original plan was to hold three races in total, but Friday was a windless washout and while organisers initially planned to sail a third race next Saturday, this morning the decision was taken to make today’s race the last. And what a race it was. It was on between Aberdare and Yendys from the word go, and you would expect nothing less from these two champion sailors. One, Winning, with local knowledge and a host of skiff trophies. The other, Cudmore, Ireland’s best known sailor who has won multiple trophies for himself and others in keelboats and at major yachting events. Despite repeated attempts to overtake Winning via tacking and gybing duels, Cudmore and crew could not find the overtaking lane in the light 7-8 knot nor’ easterly which lightened to five knots later in the race. After three days in Cuxhaven we sail to the island Vlieland in The Netherlands. The trip is 150 nautical miles and takes 25 hours. We have a good sail with nice winds and make around 6,5 knots of speed. The weather is cold but sunny. Unfortunately we sail in to some heavy fog in the morning the next day. On Vlieland we discover the island and walk on the empty beaches and in the woods. We fly with our drone and get som nice footage and Johan makes "semlor", a Swedish pastry. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter, January 2016, and started sailing south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. After Selayar, the BPO participants sailed to the Komodo National Park on Komodo Island. After a nature trek to observe the dragons, a trip to Pink Beach nearby offered an excellent snorkeling area. The next day, some of the fleet sailed to Sebayor Kecil. Had some great scuba diving with the Bajo Dive Center. The boat come to pick the divers off their boat and went diving at Batu Bolong and in Makassar Reef, also nicknamed “Manta Alley”. Enjoy the diving video! A liveaboard trip diving the Simialn Islands in Thailand, November 2015

In this episode, Paul and Sheryl examine "how" and "why" the travelling life lures people away from a regular life ashore. They look back on the highlights of their 11 years on the high seas since they built their sailboat, visiting islands in the Bahamas and Caribbean, diving on tropical reefs, encountering whales at sea and participating in local rituals in the mid-Atlantic islands of the Azores. They also introduce sailors cruising for different reasons - a Norwegian couple who sold their home and are cruising in Spain so they can spend more time with their 2 small children and a retired British engineer who is restoring a large motor yacht for adventures in the Mediterranean.

Ep 3 Sopers Hole to Cooper Island: We have breakfast in Sopers, then drop the mooring and head out for Cooper Island. Again, we have great wind and the ride is exciting. We pick up a mooring at Manchineel Bay on the east side of Cooper Island and almost immediately realize that a friendly, show-off of a dolphin is swimming around in the mooring field, much to the delight of at least twenty charterers. Team team finds out the full extent of the do list as we get a marine survey and start stripping the fittings and sanding the hull. The boat survey was really important, without getting one of these you may run into known expenses which you were not prepared for post purchase. We new we had a lot to do with out boat restoration the survey helped to document what we needed to do and prioritise the importance. The marine surveyor picked up some moisture in the hull which lead to the decision to completely sand the hull back further than first planned to attempt to dry out the hull. In the end the boat survey proved to be spot on, we tackled all the recommended work in the boat restoration project that made sure our sailing boat ready to race for another 20 year. The boat restore prove to be very rewarding if you effort get the chance to take on a boat rebuild project I would tell you to jump at the chance.
