I will take the boat to another marina on 11-1-16 to be hauled out for two weeks. I'm going home for the two weeks and am staying positive. I will be back to finish my Bahamas trip. The 37th Edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race started from Grand Harbour in Valletta on Saturday 22nd October. The start, with 107 boats in the fleet, appeared as spectacular as ever from the bastions of Fort St. Angelo. The race has kept its universal appeal with an extremely varied fleet from 25 countries. The same high level of entries that the Race enjoys with other renowned offshore races was once again maintained this year.

Remar faz muito bem pro corpo, mas o motor de popa tem sua hora. 😉 Nossa primeira aquisição foi um Mercury 3.3, que é pequeno e leve, mas potente o suficiente para uma curta navegação no nosso bote de 2 metros. Com o tempo aprendemos que um dos principais motivos desse modelo não funcionar, eventualmente, era a oxidação de pequenas partes no coração do carburador, provocada pelo álcool contido na gasolina nacional. Para evitar essa dor de cabeça é muito importante que se faça uma limpeza no carburador, sempre que o motor for ficar sem uso por mais de uma semana. É dessa limpeza, especificamente, que falamos nesse vídeo. Outros cuidados, como adoçar o motor após o uso e monitorar a funcionamento regular da refrigeração, também são indispensáveis. In this episode, we settle back into cruising life! Returning to the first place we made landfall in California at Forney’s Cove on Santa Cruz Island, we find some new friends to go exploring with, Scott and Laurie from Off the Starboard Hull (Check out their channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2ZvH_oNVirIdP15VjrsI6g). We do some awesome hiking, with beautiful, austere, sweeping landscape views. After a few days, it’s time to set sail around the island yet again. Due to some incoming high winds, we decide to head around the back side of Santa Cruz Island, stopping at Coches Prietos along the way. In the anchorage, we experience heavy swells and have to ditch our stern anchor and move outside the reef to deeper water. Luckily, we’re able to retrieve our stern anchor in the morning and get a nice morning hike in as well! We hope you enjoy our videos and adventures.
