We head to Antigua, West Indies for a long weekend of boat shopping. But first we take a tour of the Antigua Yacht Club marina in English Harbour, Falmouth. Superyachts were everywhere, and we couldn't help lusting after them.

We ended up spending a week in Mole St Nicolas. During that time, we tackled a few boat projects, enjoyed a few super cheap meals at the local hotel, and even went sailing with our friend Jimmy. After a few days in the BEST anchorage in Haiti, we were sad to leave such a wonderful place and such wonderful people, but we were also really excited to head out and set sail towards Cap Haitien. Hunt and Betsy Lawrence (New York, NY) received the prestigious Nathanael G. Herreshoff Trophy for their outstanding contributions to the sport of sailing. The Lawrences were instrumental in their financial support for the fleet of Olympic-class boats that were used at the Olympic venue in Rio for over two years to help train American athletes. Having access to these boats provided an important edge for Team USA as they prepared for the 2016 Rio Games. Oakcliff, a high performance training center, was founded by the Lawrences in 2010 and was named a US Sailing Team National Training Center in 2013. Oakcliff acquired multiple fleets of these Olympic-class boats that were used for training and racing in Oyster Bay and around the world. These boats were also used around the country for Olympic Development Program camps over the past two years, and helped many top youth athletes train and expand their skills.

Video presenting Wave 58 Breeze - Sta Ana - custom made hull by Wave Catamarans Shipyard. What the Wave Catamarans has to offer is a perfect compromise between speed, seamanship and comfort. The construction of the boat made by infusion in foam-glass sandwich and epoxy resin, guarantees that the boat’s structure is light, but at the same time rigid. In addition to that, an optimal sail plan of the vessel for various wind conditions will provide unforgettable experiences while sailing. The exterior living space is concentrated in the cockpit area, where we can find three spacious setees, large enough to accomodate comfortably a group of 10 guests. In the middle of the cockpit, in front of one of the sofas there is a large dining table, ideal place for breakfasts and dinners while moored in picturesque bays. Thanks to the sleek hardtop that covers the cockpit, it can be also a good place to relax and rest during warm and sunny days. In the middle of the cockpit area is integrated an elevated center helm console, that is accessed through stairs next to the entrance door to the salon. From this point the skipper has a good visibility and ease to maneuver the boat. A novelty on the sistership of Sta Maria is the hydraulic aft platform, a must have for those who are looking for a comfortable launching of the tender in all weather conditions, but it is also used as a handy bathing or diving platform. As far as the interior comfort is concerned, the guests step into the salon from the large cockpit through one of the two salon sliding doors that are situated on both sides of the exterior helm station. While entering the salon through the starboard door, the guests will find on their right a large side-by-side fridge and freezer, that are easily accessible from the cockpit and from the inside. Moving forward starboard is the galley with a beautiful view through the panoramic window, with breakfast bar and 2 bar stools. The dining and lounge area has been placed in the front part of the salon, giving the guests the possibility to admire the views through the wrap around windows. In front of the sofas, in between the salon doors there is a 50 inch TV with home cinema. The space on the portside aft, just next to the entrance, has been accomodated with the navigation and work station. The curvy and voluminous shape of the hull creates spacious interiors, with 4 guest cabins, two in each hull. All guest cabins have an en-suite bathrooms with a washbasin, toilet and separate shower. On the aft of the portside hull is located the owner’s cabin, slightly larger comparing to the other ones, accomodated with a desk and a small sofa. The front cabin on the portside hull has a two single bed arrangement, that can be joined together creating a king-size bed. On the second Wave 58 catamaran, in order to allow better exposure to light, three large vertical portlights were placed on the hull in each guest cabin. It is certainly also a nice feature for the guests, who can enjoy a beautiful sea view right after they wake up. The crew cabin located on the aft of the starboard hull is accessible only through the cockpit, in order to not to interupt the guests during day-to-day duties of the crew. Knowing that a happy crew is a hardworking crew, their private space has been designed in order to provide them the comofort they need. They have their private bathroom that can be accessed directly from the cabin and they are accomodated on bunk beds, what gives them still some storage space.

But when your man is having a difficult time giving up meat and he likes these meat crumbles, then MEAT CRUMBLES it is! This is part 2 of our year end trip. We spend new years in Santa Marta Colombia and tour the surrounding area. We really loved this remote vacation beach town and the locals and tourists were awesome. We hiked, snorkeled and of course drank some cerveza's. Our crew leaves us and we then head to Cartagena down the famed "rough coast" and cross the Magdalena river entrance. High waves and good times were in store for us and we enjoyed every minute!
