LAGOON 40 https://www.naosyachts.com/lagoon-40 ____________________________________________________________________ With her new visual identity, the 40 immediately stands out. While faithful to the image of Lagoon’s "DNA", a new style is born: an individual, streamlined and accomplished design depicts her large portholes and panoramic view. This creates a refined and high-performance unit, emphasised by the chamfer running from the bow to the stern. A new generation Lagoon, recognisable at first sight.

LAGOON SEVENTY7 https://www.naosyachts.com/lagoon-77 ____________________________________________________________________ This more than 23-metre yacht marks an important step for Lagoon towards a world in which elegance and refinement are the watchwords. Lagoon brought together an illustrious team for the design of its flagship: VPLP, Patrick Le Quément and Nauta Design. All have strived to produce a catamaran where harmony reigns between the interior and exterior living spaces, where compromise does not exist, where innovation enhances comfort and life at sea.

Beneteau Figaro 3 ____________________________________________________________________ The Figaro Beneteau 3 is the first production foiling one-design monohull ever to be designed. A distillation of technology and innovation, it results from a collaboration between group Beneteau’s best experts and the Van Peteghem Lauriot-Prévost (VPLP) office, the architects of the two last boats to win the Vendée Globe.

We wanted to install opening port lights in the cabin sides but as the sides have a compound curve this was almost impossible. How to fabricate steel box frames that can fit into the curved structure, but have flat inner frame rings to take Lewmar openers. This is the method I devised and it worked very well.

After spending an incredible day at Allen's Cay it was time to move on to our next stop. The weather report was calling for winds up to 30mph and with the poor holding in this area, we knew it would be best to move to the west side of nearby Highborne Cay. While motoring out of the Southwest Allen's Cay entrance we noticed the motor didn't sound right and the raw water cooling system wasn't pumping water properly. We quickly found a place to anchor so we could try to figure out the problem. After fiddling around for a while and changing out the hardly used pump impeller Kenzie suggested to take apart the raw water strainer to see if there was a clog that was preventing the water from flowing. Sure enough we found a huge seaweed clogged just passed the elbow and inside the filter body. The REAL problem however was that the pump body was installed backwards leaving no room for the seaweed in the strainer. We cleaned the pump body out and installed it the proper way, so we won't be having this problem again. We sailed to Highborne Cay and anchored at an anchorage with fantastic sand! The water was crystal clear and we saw the largest sting ray we have seen so far on our trip swim right under our boat! We are preparing to be here for at least 4-5 days waiting out the high winds before we can move on further south down the Exumas. *********************************************************************** THANK YOU for watching our videos and for SUBSCRIBING to our YouTube channel! One of the first sails of my Kayacat. Just testing the ropes a bit. Doesn't look too exciting, but it was. The mountain lake Walchensee is always gorgeous though. Check out more shots: Music: First Day - Huma-Huma https://youtu.be/MDTpSDWx1e4

The Offshore 40 was designed as an ultimate cruising yacht. She is massively strong, with state of the art grid construction throughout, a solid glass hull, deck joined to hull by a double flange system, and internal lead ballast encapsulated in the keel cavity. She is a moderate displacement yacht, fast, stable, and easy to handle. The owners of Pelican have lived aboard, upgraded, and refined her cruising and living accommodations. She has been well maintained and is ready to cruise now, anywhere.

The Marovo Lagoon, what a spectacular place. We spend some time with the local people and learn about a custom story. https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, after an overnight sail we arrive to the stunning Marovo lagoon. Solomon islanders like to refer to the Marovo lagoon as the 8th wonder of the world and we can see why. This stunning lagoon is a combination of 5 lagoons and over 800 islands! So much exploring could be done in just this part of the world! We spend some time with a local chief and his family and collect some water together in the local fresh water spring. We head to market with the chief and discover a beautiful little lodge called Rockocaseena. Ralph and Raynald have a small little picturesque bar where they play the music that Raynald creates. He is a music producer and he explains a custom story that he turned into a song that we use in the video. If you like his music hit him up! Accompanied by Roz and Scott, we find absolute paradise in the Tobago Cays. We spend a few days here anchored in the most amazingly clear water: snorkelling, kitesurfing, chasing turtles and forgetting about real life beyond the reef… We then move up to explore further islands and fall in love with the quaint town of Bequia. Welcome aboard. This week we install all the new large fixed ports on the Boat. See how we prepared the surfaces in last weeks video and this week we apply sealant, adhesive and trimmed out the windows and excess bedding. This is genuinely a learn from your mistakes kind of effort as I changed my method 3 times on the 6 ports. :) Below I reference several tools and supplies that I used for the tasks in this weeks video. If you find a need to pick any of these up for your project, I have included links below (with our Amazon affiliate code). We are avid fans of Cruising Outpost and Good Ole Boat (Good Old Boat) magazines and love the ideas we get from them. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "How to repair a wooden mast, boom, spar or Bulkhead (Step by Step) " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Nxr-yxUjvQ -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

NOTE: the short clip showing the passage was intentionally made 'over-the-top' for comic relief...it was meant for comedy. The clip does not represent a 'calm' day on St. Andrews Sound & I apologize to those who felt I exaggerated & misrepresented what a 'calm' day is really like there. It was meant to make you smile at my 'sailing nervous' feelings. The Intracoastal Waterway in Georgia, USA, heads straight out thru a difficult inlet called St. Andrews Sound. Will we be able to navigate safely through? It is not a good inlet! Maybe not as bad as St. Lucie or Jupiter Inlet or Boynton Beach inlet in Florida but it certainly is right up there as a dangerous inlet! Vin learns more about it as he routes his chartplotter for the anticipated voyage further south. WE hope you enjoy! Sailing our RL 28 Neringa from Geelong to Melbourne, Swan Bay and back to Geelong. Started with a lap of Corio Bay in winds gusting to 30 knots before spending the night in Limeburner's Lagoon. Sailed to Melbourne the next day for sailing with family and friends out of Hobson's Bay and to watch the new years firework display. Met up with a fellow sailor and Yarra ferry boat captain Mark for a days trailer sailing. Got caught up in the start of the Volvo round the world ocean race on the way back. Great to watch with the boats being a real thing of beauty. Decided to head of to Edwards Point Swan bay the next day, one of my favorite spots in Port Phillip Bay with a peaceful anchorage and great walks ashore.

This is a great example of a 115% Jib for a Beneteau 42 S7 designed and built by www.PrecisionSailloft.com. Follow the link below to get more information: http://www.precisionsailloft.com/sails/upwind/b/beneteau/beneteau-42-s7/headsails/product/beneteau-42-s7-cruising-headsail/ Challenge Sailcloth's Super Premium fabrics are the highest yarn count, most densely woven sailcloth styles. The product line begins with Marblehead weaves. Both Low Aspect and High Aspect Marblehead constructions are made with Fiber 104, the very best polyester sailcloth yarn, in both the warp and fill directions of the cloth. Fiber 104 has Super Tenacity properties. Marblehead Weaves & Fiber 104 are woven with Power-Shrinkage technology. The yarns and fibers achieve their maximum shrinkage during processing, which means that the fibers are in their natural physical state before they are sewn into a sail and hoisted up the mast. The maximum shrinkage allows the yarns to be woven together more times per yard than any other fabric. This process is called Interlocking™. The fibers Interlock™ more times than other fabrics, resulting in a great mechanical advantage in sailcloth. The result is excellent bias stretch resistance, stability and durability. Marblehead Weaves use Fiber 104 in both the warp and fill direction of the construction. Fiber 104 is the highest shrinkage polyester yarn used in sailcloth. The Challenge R&D engineering team conducted a collaborative search with leading fiber manufacturers and textile engineers. The purpose of the search was to find the highest shrinkage, highest tenacity yarn. The search resulted in Fiber 104. The high shrinkage makes the highest yarn count, most densely woven fabrics, with the greatest quantity of fiber interlockings. It is much more expensive than the other fibers used in Europe and the United states, and is exclusive to Challenge Sailcloth.
