Is THIS the Most Storied Liveaboard Yacht in the PNW? | Full Walkthrough of Argonaut II (1922) Step aboard Argonaut II, a 73-foot wooden motor yacht with over 100 years of history carved into every timber. Designed by renowned naval architect Edson B. Schock and built in 1922 by W.R. Menchions Shipyard in Vancouver, this Pacific Northwest legend has lived many lives: from a corporate yacht for Powell River Paper Co., to a United Church mission vessel (as Thomas Crosby IV), to a commercial tugboat—and now, a beautifully restored liveaboard cruiser under the stewardship of Nicholas Verrochi. 🔧 CURRENTLY UNDERGOING ACTIVE RESTORATION In this exclusive YachtLens walkthrough, Nicholas takes us through Argonaut II’s living history, inside her Gardner 6L3 air-start diesel, and around her lovingly maintained Port Orford Cedar hull. Recent upgrades include: • 1600W solar installation ☀️ • 24V power system ⚡ • Starboard replanking with Alaskan Yellow Cedar 🌲 🛠️ But there’s still more work to do! A major 2025 haul-out is planned in Port Townsend, WA to completely replank her port side and stern timbers. Your support can help keep this maritime treasure alive. 💸 Help Support Argonaut II's Restoration Nicholas is raising funds to preserve and restore Argonaut II for generations to come. Fishing, Surfing and Snorkeling are 3 activities in the area. Starbeach lodge offers 10 rooms as accommodation and local fresh food restaurant s well as tours. Situated in a great natural harbor, Start Harbor is a great stop-over for sailing yachts as the local community is very welcoming and Alfred Murray and his team also offer marine services like sail repairs and hull cleaning. Conveniently located, for boats heading East to Lata. Contact details at the end of the video. Filmed in September 2025

The first few days are text book until a low pressure system develops to the south, flipping the weather pattern on us. In this week’s sailing vlog, we continue our journey across the South China Sea and arrive at Tioman Island, Malaysia — a paradise known for diving, snorkeling, lush jungles, and tropical beauty. After a 3-day sail, we reached Tioman and safely picked up a mooring. But challenges came early — our dinghy wouldn’t start during domestic check-in! Thankfully, a fellow sailor helped us out, turning stress into friendship. This episode was even more special as we celebrated Vaidehi’s birthday underwater. With Tioman Reef Divers, we explored coral reefs, spotted an eel, and even swam with 4 stingrays. We also had our very first cave dive — an unforgettable experience! Later, we teamed up with Patrick & Sarah, an experienced diving couple from Singapore (200+ dives logged at Tioman). Together, we explored Chebeh Island and Malang Rock, two of Tioman’s top dive sites. Just when we thought the adventure was done, a sudden squall hit us at anchor. Strong winds tested our boat life skills, but quick action kept us safe. Join us for a sailing and diving adventure filled with friendship, challenges, underwater discoveries, and the unpredictable beauty of life at sea. • Sailing to Tioman Island • Sailing vlog Malaysia • Tioman diving vlog • Diving Tioman Island Malaysia • Sailboat birthday celebration • Diving with stingrays Malaysia • Cave diving Tioman • Sailing South China Sea • Life on a sailboat vlog • Malaysia sailing adventures #SailingReeva #SailingVlog #TiomanIsland #SailingMalaysia #BoatLife #ScubaDiving #DiveVlog #Stingrays #CaveDive #TravelVlog

Going to therapy is a sign of strength, not weakness. My sponsor BetterHelp makes therapy simple, with 10% off your first month to help you get started: https://betterhelp.com/atticus We only had two days to work on the property this week, so we challenged ourselves to clear one of the most overgrown parts of our property in just 48 hours. Armed with a chainsaw and a lot of determination, we cut through dense brush and small trees to transform the space into a shaded family hangout. By the end of the weekend, we had outdoor furniture set up, a hammock hanging, a sandbox for our daughter, and even a swing in the trees. It was a race against the clock, but the results made it totally worth it. New to the channel? In this episode, the winds have subsided and take advantage of the lull to venture into town to attend church, a favorite way to experience local culture and to explore the often talked about coral garden and Manta cleaning station, but we make a big mistake not studying the map a bit more and end up in a pretty funny situation. NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! We set sail from Vaasa, leaving the home harbor of Vaasan Merenkyntäjät Ry behind us. The plan had been ambitious: to reach the Mediterranean by autumn. But as often happens at sea, the journey itself reshaped our plans. There were so many fascinating places along the way—especially in the Netherlands—that we found ourselves lingering, exploring, and enjoying the voyage without rushing. In the end, we made it as far as northern Spain, to the city of Avilés, where we decided to spend the winter of 2025–26. The crossing of the Bay of Biscay turned out to be one of the most memorable and significant passages of our trip—also the longest continuous sail we had ever attempted. Another demanding leg was the passage from Cuxhaven to Den Helder, which kept us at sea for two nights.
