April 2019 - Französisch Polynesien Drei Tage und zwei Nächte Tanz und Gesang während des, alle zwei Jahre stattfindenden Festivals in Rikitea auf Mangareva im Gambier Atoll. Danke an Mangareva für deine Gastfreundschaft. Wir, Joachim und Sabine, sind die Crew der Atanga. Wir sind am 01. Juni 2014 in Hamburg gestartet. 2015: Kanarischen Inseln 2016: Kapverdische Inseln, im Februar 2016 unsere Atlantik-Überquerung nach Französisch Guyana. Dann kleine Antillen und noch einmal die Guyanas und Suriname mit der Nereid’s Rally. 2017: ABC-Inseln (nur BC), Mexiko und Belize. In Mexiko haben wir eine dreiwöchige Rundreise im Landesinneren unternommen. Im Anschluss kamen Providencia und Kolumbien Festland (ebenfalls mit einer dreiwöchigen Rundreise) und die San Blas Inseln in Panama. 2018: Wir wurden im Januar in Panama vom Blitz getroffen. Die Reparatur dauerte drei Monate. Nach der Passage durch den Panama Kanal haben wir den Rest des Jahres in Ecuador verbracht und fünf Wochen das Landesinnere erkundet. 2019: Osterinsel, Gambier, Tuamotu und Gesellschaftsinseln. 2020: Die Corona-Krise hat uns in Gambier (Franz. Polynesien) erwischt. Wir werden sehen, wohin der Wind uns treibt und wie weit wir kommen.

Get some quick tips on how to inflate safety sausage from underwater. This is a really important safety skill for scuba divers. The delayed surface marker buoy (dSMB, otherwise known as SMB or safety sausage) allows boats to know that you, the diver and about to come up to the surface. It is also the perfect tool for signaling from far away if you happen to surface at a distance from the boat. At first, inflating a safety sausage is a tricky skill, but practicing it just a few times will improve your level very quickly! If you are new to diving, you should have inflated a surface marker buoy at the surface during your Open Water Course. The next step would be to start by practicing with a buddy. The saga continues… After a wonderful time sailing through the Great Sandy Straits, we suddenly hit a snag. Peanut’s engine gives out on us and Magnus can’t get her started. The channel direction suddenly turns and we find ourselves stuck in the narrowest part of the channel with no engine, a strong headwind, and no way to sail out.
