Die Story geht weiter! Nach einem Jahr in ihrer Halle und dem Aufbringen von CopperCoat lag die 7seas endlich im Wasser und wartete aufs Aufriggen. Allerdings war es schon Oktober und alle anderen Segler im Hafen waren bereits am Abriggen. Davon lassen wir uns aber nicht abhalten, denn die 7seas soll ja über Winter im Wasser bleiben. Allerdings nicht in Lubmin wie bisher, sondern sie soll in Peenemünde auf Usedom liegen. In dieser Folge BootsProfis ist fast wieder die ganze Family unterwegs! Io sarò affianco ad Adrea che timone per informarlo sull'andamento delle procedure e l'avvicinamento alla linea. Il vento è steso e soffia raffinato. Con una ventina di nodi scegliamo di prendere due mani nella randa e genoa pieno. ore 14:00 il colpo di canone della partenza....Tagliamo la linea con tanta velocità malgrado le due mani. Dopo la prima boa il vento calla e rimettiamo randa piena. Un paio di strambate e giriamo la seconda e ultima boa prima del traguardo a Rio. Ore 16:00 cominciamo con i turni. Io sono nel primo assieme ad Andrea, Meloni, Mario, Marione e Jack...super squadra!!! la barca è veloce con una media di 12 nodi....speriamo che dura!

Everyone in the world is currently in the same boat (pun firmly intended). The world is facing a crisis like we have never before seen in our lifetimes. The vast majority of Europe in in total lockdown, people are frightened, no one knows just what is going to happen. We are all fighting a common enemy, and in order for that to happen we all need to remain calm and stay at home. This is my effort to keep people a bit sane while they are stuck inside, i'm hosting a live stream on my channel on Paddys days at 8pm Irish time. Ask me anything at all about the boat, the plans, me... whatever (keep it clean....) If you want to push some money my way when the stream is live (paypal etc), ill donate it all to charity for Covid-19 Response efforts.

In June 2019 I joined Seafarer's Dodecanese Flotilla for two days exploring the islands North of Kos. Having arrived on the overnight ferry from Athens I took a local ferry to the island of Patmos where I joined the flotilla as they were arriving. We were then treated to an excellent group meal before a well-earned sleep. The next day saw a trip to the monastery of St John the Theologian and the cave of revelation (reportedly were some of the bible was written). From here we set sail to in a stiff Northerly Breeze to the island of Leros. Having videoed a few boats leaving the bay we set about chasing the rest of the fleet including a bit of a race with a Harmony 34. After a decent distance, we arrived in Pantelli and helped the flotilla raft up before dinghying ashore for some dinner and drinks. The next morning I was up early taking some photos of the boats before a breakfast briefing and waving goodbye to the fleet for the free sail day. Denied permission to enter port, stopped from landing our dinghy on a remote beach on the first day of lockdown in Spain. The Spanish authorities moved quickly, so quickly that it caught a lot of people out including us. After having spent a couple of weeks at anchored we venture ashore for a walk on a sunny weekend there are a few people out walking dogs and running but there is also a police man who tells everyone they must return home. Lockdown has started. We realise in a state of lockdown we will be short on food, water and gas for cooking so must find a way to restock. This was not how we thought our sailing season would start this year! Corona virus has taken hold in Spain and extreme measures have been brought in everywhere. Marina offices are unmanned and it's only when we arrive at a marina entrance that someone answers the VHF to tell us we can't land and must leave. It's a world crisis and in some ways we feel lucky to be out at anchor in our own boat / isolation ward! But there are real issues in getting essential supplies. This is a special extra episode of Sailing Fair Isle all filmed in the last 4 days to show the situation as it stands right now. Will using the T-cut and Auto Glym work on restoring my sailing boat's hull? There are many scratches, some going through the gel coat (or clear coat as they say with cars) This was my first time trying anything like this, So I wasn't sure what to expect, And the verdict at first was...
