It was quite a ride and we had some setback before we could finally leave the marina and do a sea trial. This was our first sailing experience after more than a year and is the final step of our Refit sailboat project. Ten years ago, before kids, we sailed a Lagoon 380 named "Honeymoon" halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia. This episode we have to move our little home from the Marina to moor along side a fishing boat wall! We couldn't get the marina to agree to us being lifted out for long enough to do all the windows, the pontoons were all to high and we can't reach from a dinghy so we really had no choice. Obviously we would of preferred for the windows to have just been done right the first time by the company we paid thousands, grrr BUT as that is not a option we spend the next few weeks in blistering heat to all hours of day then night removing, cleaning, fixing and replacing the windows on a stinky fishing boat mooring! Sunday 21st February saw a sizeable fleet take part in a long course Coastal Race. The fleet headed towards a southern direction, starting at 10am. The first boat to finish, at 12:50:07 was the Farr45 Comanche Raider, followed by Jarhead and Manana. When taking into consideration provisional ratings, it was the J109 Jarhead, skippered by Emilie Gregory, to be declared winner.
