Madeira ist wirklich einzigartig! So eine vielfältige Insel, mit den unterschiedlichsten Landschaften, unzähligen Wanderwegen & Ausblicken! Wir sind sehr glücklich, dass wir diese Insel nicht ausgelassen haben und von Porto Santo direkt zu den Kanaren sind. Denn dann wäre uns hier auf Madeira einiges entgangen. Und ja - derzeit ist das Wetterfenster nicht optimal (so eine Überfahrt wie nach Porto Santo wollen wir eigentlich vermeiden), aber wir haben Zeit. Zur Not segeln wir eben nicht Mitte Dezember, sondern Anfang Januar in die Karibik. Für uns steht an erster Stelle die Reise zu genießen und die Welt zu erkunden. Endlich können wir wieder zu unserer Bruty. Aufgrund Corona mussten wir bis Anfang Juni warten bis wir in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern einreisen durften. Nun ist es aber soweit. Wir fahren nach Wismar und räumen das Boot wieder ein. Wir erkunden die schöne Hansestadt Wismar und die einzelnen Hafenbecken. Schlussendlich verabschiede ich Jörg, der alleine nach Heiligenhafen segelt. Wir sind Gitti und Jörg, die Spaß haben, auf der Ostsee rum zu segeln :-)

We make our way through the canyon up to the Big Bear area and then head up to Big Bear Lake Village for a pint at our favorite brew pub.

Con menos de 9 metros de eslora, solo 7.64 metros en la flotación, tenemos este magnifico velero. Generoso en espacios y cómodo tanto de vivirlo como de navegarlo. Baño completo en estribor, amplia cabina del armador en babor, un salón convertible y una pequeña litera en proa para los pequeños. Lo completa una amplia cocina que te permite montar un pequeño frigorífico eléctrico y una nevera eléctrica. Su característica principal además del espacio interior y la comodidad de la bañera es su disposición con dos quillas, que te permite varar en playas donde otros no se les ocurre ni acercarse, para ello el timón dispone de un “zapato” en el extremo para evitar que este se clave en la arena. Su pequeño y económico Yanmar de 18 CV es suficiente para imprimirle al velero una velocidad de 4 y 5 nudos en cualquier condición. Suficiente para este barco. En definitiva, un barco para el que quiera un pequeño apartamento de verano con todas las comodidades y que quiera mantenerse en una eslora económica además de navegar con aplomo y gran estabilidad. Un pequeño gran velero!!!!! En el próximo video presentaremos el viaje desde Málaga a Cádiz en este pequeño velero.

Con este sistema se pueden poner estores para barcos, persianas para barcos y se puede decir que son cortinas náuticas. Es un sistema muy fácil de poner, rápido y además muy económico y barato. MATERIALES Estos son los materiales que necesitamos para instalar nuestras nuevas cortinas en el barco: -Dos listones de madera finitos, a poder ser de iroco -4 soportes adhesivos, de este tipo los podéis encontrar en cualquier ferretería o gran superficie de bricolaje y lo hay de varios colores los que muestro son marrones pero los que puse en el barco son blancos -Las cortinas del color y material que prefiráis en mi caso de tela blanca para cortinas del barco, aportan luminosidad al barco y en sitios pequeños la claridad es vital. Las cortinas las podéis coser vosotros mismos u os las hace una costurera de vuestra localidad por ejemplo. INSTALACIÓN Pondremos cuatro soportes por ventana, dos arriba y dos abajo, a un lado y al otro. Aquí podemos ver el soporte con detalle, queda firme queda fuerte y aguantar la cortina con la estructura perfectamente más que de sobra. A la hora de poner los soportes hay que tener en cuenta que tebemos que darle un poquito de distancia de la ventana, un poquito distancia de los laterales y en la parte superior y la parte inferior también así conseguimos que la cortina tape toda la ventana y quede bonita, no quede rara o se vea alguna esquina y además dejamos suficiente hueco para poder poner y quitar la madera con tranquilidad Los listones de madera van encajados los soportes con un agujero. Estos agujeritos los haremos con una broca fina pero un pelín más gruesa que el anclaje donde va donde va encaja de la madera y que llegue no llegue a atravesar la entera. Que quede un poquito más arriba de la mitad (más o menos) pero que no llegue a atravesar la entera por el otro lado. A la cortina mi abuela que esta mañana le puso unos lazos que hacen que la recoja y soltamos una media moña y listo. Ya está extendida, ahora escondemos esos lazos por detrás y simplemente metemos la maderita por dentro de la cortina. Arriba tiene el mismo sistema, es decir la madera que hay puesta tiene mismo sistema. Ahora lo volvemos a encajar en los soportes y queda perfecta. Como has podido comprobar este sistema de cortina poco náutico es muy fácil de instalar rápido barato y muy seguro si te ha servido de ayuda este vídeo ya sabes ¡¡¡ suscríbete y dale a la campanita!!! We will be going over how to flush your radiator, engine, and heater core! It is critical to flush your cooling system and put fresh antifreeze in it so that your block won't crack in the winter, and prevent rust from forming. You can clearly see in our Jeep cooling system that we were flushing, why is bad. Additionally, we cover how to back flush the engine and heater core without removing the thermostat Choose Your Antifreeze: https://amzn.to/3o0wVXv 😍 The first step is to drain the cooling system of your vehicle. Antifreeze shouldn't be poured down a drain or dumped on the ground because it contains chemicals. Some types are sweet and can harm animals. It won't hurt to dump out water, which is a big reason to flush your cooling system. Whenever you are unsure what type of fluid is in your vehicle, capture and recycle it. Having removed the fluid from the cooling system, you will need to disconnect the bottom hose from the radiator. When removing the hose, be sure you are not under it as there will still be fluids left in the cooling system. The hose will remain disconnected during the cooling system flush. Take the radiator and heater core hose closest to the thermostat housing after disconnecting the bottom hose. If you are unsure of which heater hose is closest to the thermostat, look for the hose closest to the top radiator hose. With the heater core hose, we can flush the system without removing the thermostat, which requires a new gasket. Having disconnected the coolant system hoses, we can now use the water hose to flush the engine. Video shows this the best, but it's simply getting water through the heater core and engine. Ensure water flows through the heater core hose and the plug where it connects. By looking at the bottom radiator hose, you will be able to tell if water is getting through the cooling system. You also want to rinse out the top radiator hose once you see clear water flowing out of the bottom radiator hose through the heater core and engine. The top radiator hose needs to be disconnected from the thermostat housing. Once it is off, you can run water through the hose and top of the thermostat house. This water won't run through the engine if you have a thermostat in the thermostat housing. If you don't have a thermostat, you need to install one. The absence of a thermostat will not only prevent the engine from reaching operating temperature. In the winter, the heater will remain colder for much longer. A bit of a late start from Confederation Basin, and a pressing need to refuel. Since we were running off of our port fuel tank, and our fuel gauges were not very operational, and even less accurate, I was estimating our consumption based on a "gallons per hour" estimate. We had looked at Kingston Yacht Club for refueling, but they were closed, so we travelled a bit further West to Portsmouth Olympic Harbour. Easy to dock and fuel, and give Chloe a quick walk. Portsmouth is right beside the infamous Kingston Penitentiary - now closed, but open for tours during tourist season - and a point of interest for any traveller. Gas is pricey. This should come as no surprise! From Portsmouth, we cruised East, passing Fort Henry as we cruised up Deadman's Bay to the Canadian Forces Base Kingston Yacht Club (which is where we had our Sea Ray docked in the 2019 season). Lots of friends still cruise out of that club! Then between Howe and Wolfe Island to the cluster of islands south of Gananoque. We settled on Aubrey Island again, because we were able to grab that single dock to the south east, and it was perfectly peaceful and quiet...Mermaid Island was in the path of the wind, and Beau Rivage's docks were full. With that, a lovely meal, a fire in a wood-burning stove, and an early night!

Friends were already waiting for us on Tenerife, at the city of Garachico. As beautiful as it is there, unfortunately it is located at the lee-shore of the island where the high Atlantic swell hits the rocky coast line. However, we untied the lines, left Madeira and set course South. Only fifteen miles off Madeira we nearly bumped into a group of sperm whales. We were so overwhelmed that we almost dropped the camera. During the next two days we had the best Atlantic-sailing so far: calm seas, good to moderate wind from broad reach, the night with clear skies and a shining moon. In the early morning hours of day 2 we could see the peak of the volcano Teide sticking out of the clouds at the horizon. When at starboard side dark clouds appeared we suddenly got a very strange navigational warning on VHF. Anyway, when we approached the lee-shore coast of Tenerife, it got a bit tricky to navigate between the rocks through the swell.
