We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

The 2022 Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race started on time from the Royal Yacht Squadron Line in Cowes at midday on Sunday 7th August. The international fleet got away for the non-stop 1,805-mile race without incident. The infamous Solent tide changed favourably just before the start and coupled with light headwinds the fleet raced to the east. The major decision after the start was which way to go; the majority of the fleet went for deep water rather than the island shore where the tide would have turned earlier. After rounding No Man’s Land Fort, the game was to get into a fresh southerly breeze of over 13 knots. Considering the light airs forecast, progress was above expectation, with the boats fully powered-up into open water. Ian Walker, as skipper of VO 65 Azzam holds the Monohull Record for the race and was a live commentator for the start: “All the teams, especially the double-handed, are going to have to manage their energy for this race; that is going to be absolutely crucial as this is a marathon. It is going to be nip and tuck at every headland and every tidal gate it will be very tough, mentally and physically for many days ahead.” Ollie Heer’s IMOCA Oliver Heer Ocean Racing was the first to round Bembridge Ledge Buoy, stealing a march on their IMOCA rival, Pip Hare’s Medallia. First organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club in 1976, the 1,805nm Sevenstar Round Britain & Ireland Race is a true marathon of epic proportions. Roughly three times longer than the Rolex Fastnet Race, the course sends the competing teams around a myriad of headlands with tidal strategies. Coupled with the notorious British and Irish weather, the Sevenstar Round Britain & Ireland Race is arguably the toughest pro-am race in the world. Début juin 2022, nous prenions la mer, moi, Amandine, Laëtitia, Guillaume et Ruka le chat. Amandine est à 7 mois de grossesse mais les porte bien, ce qui nous permet de naviguer pendant presque 2 semaines sans encombres. Entre mouillages paradisiaques, petits coups de vent imprévus, baignades dans les eaux turquoises du sud de la Corse, couchers de soleil inoubliables et apéro géniaux, nous étions bien. Só agora estou postando o vídeo sobre a desconhecida, porém maravilhosa, barra do rio Jaguaribe, em Fortim, CE. Travessia entre Areia Branca, RN. segunda na Costa Norte, as 60 milhas, fiz em doze horas. A saída da Barra do rio Mossoró, em Areia Branca, é ruim também… tive de motorar por sete milhas, até próximo porto de sal, Termisa, para quinar para noroeste e começar a velejar, de fato. Ao chegar próximo à barra do rio Jaguaribe, fiquei fazendo zig zag, procurando algum pesqueiro para pedir orientação ou até mesmo, me guiar pelo canal. O que aconteceu com um barco que, antes de me guiar, recolheu uma rede de lagosta. O rio é maravilhoso. Casas lindas debruçam, com deks de piscinas e heliporto, na maioria delas. A fartura de embarcações a vela, jangadas, saveiros e botes bastardos, colorem o azul, do rio, com velas multicoloridas. Por terra fui com meu filho Eduardo, de férias, matar saudade da linda Canoa Quebrada. Local que conheci a muiiitos anos. Saída para Fortaleza, tb foi tensa, com onda quebrando pela proa. Aff Já ouve caso de veleiro que naufragou na temida barra, infelizmente. Depois de Galinhos, Areia Branca, ambas no RN, Fortim, no CE, foi a terceira das onze barras e enseadas, que baixei o ferro, até a ilha de Marajo. #95 Aujourd'hui on vous partage là où on en est avec les travaux du chantier No. 2 de Petit Chantier. Comme vous savez, nous avons un gros problème sous la base du mât qu'on devra attaquer très bientôt. Mais avant, il reste encore beaucoup de travail. On s'attaque donc sur la réparation de la cloison avant, qui supporte l'étai et l'étanchéïté complète des écoutilles du voilier. Beaucoup de travail, mais ça nous empêche pas de célèbrer les anniversaires en suivant les traditions Guatémaltèques presque épeurantes, à 3 reprises dans un même épisode.
