Finally, we make our next video! Hurricane Henri!!! In this episode Philippa and James head to the hotel after frantically calling over 30 hotels for literally ‘room at the inn’, not caring what it was like, we just needed at the final hour some shelter! Arriving at the hotel we watch the TV which is not only a novelty as we don’t have TV, but to see the sheer context of the hurricane and what we are due to expect over the next few days. We learn that the hurricane is predicted to go to category 1. After not much sleep we awake to the news that the hurricane had hit the land and was heading for Sag Harbour and the main part of Long Island. James makes the most of the ‘unusual breakfast treats’ whilst Philippa makes the most of her favourite thing, the gym! We watch all day as the TV showed many boats being swept ashore and the tragedy that was sweeping America as there were more than a few hurricanes and storms that weekend. The hurricane had then been declassified to a Tropical Storm, which was some relief to our desperation for Aequus’ safety We speak to our friend Mike who being the crazy dude he is decided to not only stay on the boat but at 4am decided to leave just as the storm was about to hit! Crazy is one word! We get a taxi back to Aequus with a wonderful driver that made the journey back relaxing and welcoming. We assess the damage – of which apart from a messy inside the damage was none and we were so happy and so relieved. We put Aequus back together, whilst hurricane Henri whipped its tail end around for the last time that night. TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 Start of video 00:42 We watch the TV news reporting the hurricane 02:13 James eats a 'very fruity breakfast' 02:45 Philippa makes good use of the gym 03:07 We call Mike and hear his escapades!! 05:53 Monday morning after a very stressful few days we pack up and head back to the boat to assess the situation 06:46 James has seen a lot of water this weekend with his numerous baths!! 07:52 We head back in the taxi with a very lovely taxi driver - Gustavo 09:10 We reach Aequus and assess the damage 09:21 Everything looks absolutely fine, we can't believe how strong Aequus has held up! 10:06 We see how the inside has faired 11:50 Next time aboard Aequus 12:26 End of video

This episode is packed full of boat jobs, both big and small. We are now up on the careening poles at he Dinah Beach Cruising Club. As the tide heads out, we work and as it comes back in we down tools on the outside of Nutshell and do inside jobs instead. The first task is to fit the new water maker control panel, replace the membrane and tidy up the plumbing. For a little R and R, we head to the Smith Street pub and sample a new ale from the Little Creatures Brewery in Fremantle, our home town. Wendy sews a new cover for our new plotter for the cockpit. The anchor gets a little TLC too with new paint and a massive untwist! Nutshell gets a new hull paint job, this time she’s red. The propeller gets a special treatment of Prop Speed. And after all of that, we finally get to leave the careening poles… Thanks for watching. Until next time. After those 3 years we know better, so it was time we took on a new challenge: we added a little crew member to our boat family, meet Levi! Our goal is to circumnavigate the world on our 36ft Beneteau as a famliy. Sailboat life is super different from land life. It is fantastic and pretty rough at times. And now with little Levi, it often is even harder and more fun. see the little things tries to FIND HAPPINESS BY DOING THINGS THAT ARE HARD. Join us on this journey and let's find happiness together!
In this episode, we stumbled upon the Sapphire Blue Hole on Northern Eleuthera. Staring 25' down into the blue abyss was nerve wracking enough for Jeff. But when 21 women from a yoga retreat arrived and started taking the plunge, Jeff faced his fear of heights and jumped in. Then, we crossed the infamous Devils Backbone to get to Harbor Island. We took our bikes and rode all over Harbor Island in search of two very important things: the famous pink sand beach and ice cream! Thanks for watching!

We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story.

Our 4th Short Stories episode is a special one, showcasing the 5 days we spent at the 2022 Sydney International Boat Show and a look behind the scenes from the event. This year we held one of our biggest and best stands yet, with 12 incredible boats on display, over 10,000 horsepower of outboard engines, some very special guests, and a whole lot of foot traffic! We were also honoured with the Best Marina Display of the Show. An award we are so grateful to have received, recognising all the hard work and effort that went into showcasing our stand. Watch the video to see what we got up to over the week, some behind the scenes of our VIP night and catch sight of the range of Grady's, Capelli's and the V-37 we had on display.
[ SUPPORT US ON A PATREON ] https://www.patreon.com/sailingseawind [ ONE TIME DONATIONS ] https://bit.ly/3e5YE78 The Bahamas has a lot to offer anyone visiting the archipelago. In the Exuma Cays, the Land and Sea Park is a must see and because there are no developed areas in this roughly 112,000 square miles of protected land and water, there isn't any cellphone reception. Blissful disconnection from the outside world. Katy and I each took a week off of work to explore this beautiful place, and we happened to time the weather perfectly for the first part of our adventure off-grid. Our first stop was O'Brien Cay, a small island with beautiful views. Fun fact, Johnny Depp owns Little Halls Pond which lines the northwest side of our new anchorage we call home. The reason we are here is a hotspot for diving called "The Aquarium". The Land and Sea Park is a marine and wildlife sanctuary and therefore, the coral and fish populations thrive. If what we hear about the aquarium is true, we are in for a treat! We take our dinghy, Gami, to the mooring and jump in the water with our masks and dive fins and find ourselves in an underwater paradise. This is hands down the best snorkeling we have ever done! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did :) After we are done playing in our newfound underwater world, a gentle southeast breeze beckons us. We prepare Seawind, weigh anchor, and set our spinnaker, Big Blue with a northbound course to our next anchorage at Shroud Cay. After picking our new spot to call home for the night, we strip down, and jump in for a refreshing wash and rinse. The anchorage is becalmed. We marvel in the days accomplishments and the peaceful evening aboard our floating home. This episode begins with a recap of the challenges faced while sailing in Costa Rica. While we loved Costa Rica as a country maybe next we will come back without the boat 🙃. We faced many rolly anchorages, rapidly changing weather conditions, and expensive port officials. Suffice to say we were ready for a bit of a change by the time we pulled into Papaguyo Marina. This marina has beautiful grounds and lots of pools to play in. It was the perfect spot to catch up on sleep after a lot of rocking and rolling, make repairs on the boat & get prepared for our upcoming passage in blissful a/c, and take ALL the hot showers in the world! 0:00 Intro 1:10 Sailing to our last stop in Costa Rica 3:05 Recap of CR Coastal Hopping 5:46 After the challenges of cruising CR, marina life! 8:40 Bill & Delos Mcguyver the install of our spare alternator 10:20 Enjoying all the amenities the marina has to offer 11:02 Bill & Brian attempt to save $1,000 self clearing out of CR 11:46 Saying Goodbye Costa Rica 15:45 Starting our Journey to Mexico ~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Enjoying our channel? A tour of @sailingtranquility a 36' aluminum hull sailboat built in France in 1989 and recently purchased for 24,000€ with plans to do a near total refit. Only the basics work but it survived one of the craziest storms I've ever seen the night before without any damage.
