Finally! The long-awaited video from our sailing adventure across the Bay of Biscay last year has arrived. Take a peek into the daily life onboard during the 15-day voyage. Our journey started on August 20th, when we set sail from Bremerhaven Maritime Days. After navigating the Bay of Biscay, we reached the stunning city of Lisbon on September 5th. While the Bay of Biscay is known for its sometimes challenging sailing conditions, we had mainly sunny and calm weather. At the start of the sailing leg we had some really great sailing, and during the following calmer days the crew had an amazing time on board watching whales, making a swim stop, and enjoying some onboard games and activities. I thought it would be interesting to some of you to show a bit about a regular day in our lives. We have so many amazing experiences, but a lot of our life is similar to everyone's: kids doing schoolwork, working out and cooking. We had a bit of a mishap with one of the side-by-sides this week. We live so close to many incredible trails for four-wheeling and most of the time things go off without a hitch (or winch). But when things go wrong, it's important to be prepared. A dream came true! A group of Dutch trainers came to our catamaran in the beginning of March to do a 4-day Train-the-Trainer! Since we started talking about sailing around the world with a catamaran in 2017, this was one of my goals! To welcome trainers from the Netherlands on the boat in a beautiful surrounding aboard, to deliver a training , so they could be fully focused on themselves and their development, away from the daily to do’s at home. It turned out so great, even better than I had hoped for (sunny weather, enthusiastic group of people and even dolphins swimming by twice during the training in the bay of Mallorca! You wouldn't see that in a conference room in the Netherlands :). This is the aftermovie of how the 4 days Train-the-Trainer looked like!

After two weeks in Cascais it's time for us to do some provisioning and set sail towards Madeira Islands, more exactly Porto Santo. It's a cold and rolly ride with some seasickness, but it's also a really fast sail. Tip! Provision in Auchan in Cascais, it's a huge store (like the biggest we've seen since Sweden). We stacked up like we would cross the Atlantic, that way we had some weeks to see how much food we actually used to get a better idea on what we should stack up on again later in the Canaries.
