Bill also drills out new holes for the vertical support struts since we've decided to move them. Ricky our welder didn't consider the backside where they enter into our locker which happens to be a fiberglass shelf that holds our scuba tanks. After our day at the yard we head out with friends from One Life & Delos and hit the Malecon. Its a nice respite from our long days of boat work and we're happy to have friends to share with. The next day we're back at it this time with the help of friend Jeff Bach. We install the vertical supports into their new position and end the day with a pizza night in the yard at the 'Liquid Lounge'. We've become friends with many folks at the Cabrales Boat Yard who are all working long hours on their boats towards their dreams. We enjoy 2 for 1 pizza night and hang out by the fire with everyone. The next day we're glassing over the thru-hulls which were built up with compound to smooth out the 'holes' they made. Its a process that requires several steps but Big D is helping out and everything goes smoothly which means the hull is almost ready for barrier coat! Bill has some work to do on the keel first which requires some more sanding. Finally it can be barrier coated a huge milestone in our lengthy 'bottom process'! Wir segeln mit unserer HR 43 Mola Mola seit einigen Jahren im Ärmelkanal und besonders gerne in Südengland! Seit 2017 haben wir nun mehr Zeit und so ist es uns möglich unser Revier beliebig zu vergrößern. Wir reisen gerne in kleinen Etappen, um möglichst viel von Land und Leuten kennenzulernen. Begeistert sind wir von der Atlantikküste bis nach Gibraltar. Ein oft unterschätztes Revier mit unendlich vielen, schönen Orten und Ankerplätzen! 2019 segeln wir von Portimão nach La Graciosa auf die Kanaren. Alle Inseln im Archipel besuchen wir und sind überwältigt von der Schönheit und der unglaublichen Natur. 2020 werden wir durch Corona ausgebremst, aber das unverhoffte Angebot mit einem Katamaran den Atlantik zu überqueren, nehmen wir gerne an. Im Oktober 2020 steigen wir auf Olivers "Indigo Moon" um und bereiten den großen Schlag nach Antigua vor! Die Atlantiküberquerung ist eines unserer größten Abenteuer... eine unvergessliche Zeit! Auch der Unterschied Monohull - Multihull ist für uns eine besondere Erfahrung. Wir sind nicht die Verfechter der einen oder anderen Bootsform. Ob Mono oder Multi... beide haben Vor und Nachteile. Das absolut beste und einzig sinnvolle Tourenboot gibt es eben nicht. We set off from Colombia and head to the border with Panama - the famous Darien Gap, where the jungle is so dense it is considered one of the world's most dangerous regions. On our way, we take a quick stop in the Rosario Islands and it feels good to be sailing again! After a good scrub of our hulls, we leave Colombian waters behind as we make our way towards Panama - a big milestone for us as we really leave the Caribbean behind. We had our son and family visiting us. It's to hot in the boat and the boat rolled to much at Marie Galante so we rented an airbnb. From Marie Galante to Le Gosier the wind died so we had a bath at 500 meter depth. So wonderful and blue water. Island - wer träumt nicht davon, einmal im Leben die unglaubliche Natur dieser Insel erleben zu können? Obwohl mein Budget eher knapp war, habe ich im Oktober spontan einen Flug nach Island gebucht und bin 5 Tage später schon losgeflogen. Ich habe mir für zwei Wochen einen Mietwagen geliehen und bin in zwei Wochen einmal um die Insel herumgefahren. Ganz alleine. Die Natur hat mich wahnsinnig beeindruckt und ich hatte eine wundervolle Zeit, wenn auch nicht ganz ohne Schwierigkeiten. Im ersten Teil reise ich von Reykjavik bis nach Vik - gerade einmal 200 km in 5 Tagen. Ao chegar à ilha de Hiva Oa, espantou-me a quantidade de pessoas tatuadas. Homens, mulheres, jovens, adultos e idosos. No restaurante, na loja, no museu ou nas ruas.
