La prima edizione del Giro dei Porti e delle Marine della Toscana 2023 è stata caratterizzata da una meteo particolarmente fredda, decisamente inusuale per l'arcipelago Toscano. Nel guardare il bicchiere mezzo pieno però, c'è da dire che abbiamo avuto quasi sempre un vento portante e questo ci ha aiutati dandoci modo di mantenere delle velocità di crociera particolarmente alte per le caratteristiche di Tornavento. Io e Muttley siamo la coppia fissa al comando di Tornavento, mentre Igor Macera, che insieme farà il Giro d'Italia, ha preso parte solo alle prime 3 tappe per poi tornare in quel di Livorno per organizzare le regate paralimpiche della Settimana Velica Internazionale dell'Accademia Navale di Livorno. Da Viareggio scendendo verso sud abbiamo toccato prima Livorno dove siamo stati ospiti dell'Ass. SIL (Sport Insieme Livorno); poi al Marina Cala De Medici dove l'AD. Matteo Italo Ratti ci ha non solo ospitati ma notando la quantità di freddo che stavamo patendo ci ha fatto dono di due pantaloni e calzamaglia tecnica per poter proseguire un po' più caldi e riparati verso le tappe successive. Da Rosignano quindi abbiamo fatto rotta verso Marina di Salivoli che facente parte del Consorzio Marine della Toscana, ci ha dato ospitalità e grazie al sollevatore di cui sono provvisti siamo riusciti a sbarcare parte dell'equipaggio e imbarcare invece Vincenzo Sorrentino per raccontare anche la sua storia e la sua attività (Special Line) con il quale poi si è fatto rotta verso Punta Ala, unica tappa fatta interamente a motore e dove abbiamo incontrato un gruppo di delfini che ci hanno accompagnato per diversi minuti in quello che era uno specchio, un mare senza onde e senza vento... Da Punta Ala, dove siamo stati ospiti dello Yacht Club Punta Ala, abbiamo fatto rotta verso Porto Azzurro, località Elbana che ci ha toccato il cuore, meraviglia incastonata in una baia del sud-est dell'isola, ben protetta e con una piazzetta incantevole (vista dall'alto noterete che prende il disegno di una rete da pesca). La tappa, tutta al traverso, è stata fatta insieme all'atleta paralimpico Emiliano Giampiero con il quale abbiamo conversato su molte tematiche soffermandoci di più sulle sue produzioni come l'olio, il tartufo e molto altro.. Da Porto Azzurro ci siamo trasferiti a Marciana Marina, altra meta che aspettavamo da molto tempo e dove abbiamo amicizie oramai quasi decennali e c'è da dire che è stata un'altra meta per noi estremamente confortevole grazie ad un pontile alto 50cm che ci ha permesso uno sbarco con passerella priva di pendenze. Da Marciana dovevamo trasferirci a Portoferraio, altra darsena facente parte del consorzio delle Marine Della Toscana ed insieme a noi, tenendo il timone per tutta la tratta fatta a vela, c'era l'assessore alle infrastrutture della Regione Toscana, Stefano Baccelli che ringraziamo per aver preso parte al viaggio e che si è prestato ad un lungo confronto sul tema accessibilità/comfort dei porti. Da Portoferraio dovevamo fare rotta verso nord, dove ad aspettarci è stato il Porto Marina di Pisa (anche questo porto, facente parte del consorzio delle Marine della Toscana), nel quale abbiamo incontrato anche l'assessore Munno alla disabilità del Comune di Pisa, ma anche il Garante della Disabilità di Pisa, Alessandro Di Ciolo. Non poteva mancare il rientro a casa, la base nautica de I Timonieri Sbandati e del nostro partner Marevivo Toscana, a Viareggio! Ed ecco qui il video che brevemente raccoglie immagini e persone incontrate, tenendo conto che si tratta di un piccolo antipasto di quanto vedremo dal 2 giugno al 23 settembre con il Giro d'Italia, Navigare Oltre i Limiti! Vai! Abbiamo dato un primo assaggio, ora andiamo alla conquista del giro più lungo e complesso con una barca monoscafo che ci farà sudare decisamente di più, ma che promette bene e soprattutto ci permette un piena autonomia e una navigazione molto molto green! Some things on a narrowboat need doing regularly. The toilet most of all! Also clearing out the drainage channels on the deck, and filling up on gas. If you've not a continuous cruiser, it's important to run your engine too now an again, so checking the oil and turning the old girl on was part of this weekends jobs list!
