This episode I visit two incredible projects that are both happening in Cornwall UK. They are both giving new life to traditional wooden fishing boats, but they are doing so in very different ways! Charlotte and Jess have rebuilt and converted their wooden fishing boat into a motor launch with a banquet table, and have started a business taking people out around the Cornish coastline for hand-cooked meals on board. Steve is maintaining and repairing his 110 year-old Danish Fishing Trawler, which has begun to work once more – but this time she is fishing for garbage! Steve has been clearing up rubbish and trash from the Cornish coastline for years, but now plans to use the huge fishing schooner to scale up the operation and clean less accessible areas, raising awareness of the issues of marine plastic waste at the same time. We are told by an ancient Guna man of a bushwalk that follows a pipe that leads to a mystical magical lake where the Guna's pipe their fresh water from. I get a first hand look at how Gunas do repairs on this pipe and I like what I see. Nothing but quality here too. We visit a place called East Cocos Banderos and I visit the remains of a wreck and come face to face with a barracuda. On coming back we meet my second favourite bird, a booby bird, which doesn't really seem to be scared at all of humans. And no I don't like the bird because of its name. A huge mass of sargasm comes to surround us so before it starts stinking we make our getaway and head to West Cocos Banderos and have a late afternoon BBQ of snapper. This force cracked the internal grid in several places and broke a portion of the grid free from hull. At some point an inspection was done, insurance was called and decisions were made. Wir haben als groben Überblick die jährlichen Kosten unserer 39 Fuß Comfortina aufgestellt und sie mit unserem damaligen 26 Fuß Trio 80 verglichen. Also großes Segelboot vs. kleines Segelboot. Diese Kostenaufstellung soll einen groben Überblick über die laufenden Kosten einer Segelyacht liefern. Wir sprechen über Liegeplatz, Motorwartung, Reparaturen am Schiff und vieles mehr. Am Ende kommen wir zu zwei sehr unterschiedlichen Beträgen, die die Größenverhältnisse, in denen man sich jeweils bewegt, gut darstellen.
