Let's just say our catamaran is breathing a sigh of relief to get that weight off her backside. It wasn't an easy decision to get rid of our plush AB dinghy but for around the world cruising something fancy and cush doesn't really make sense. The last thing we want in a foreign country is to have the nicest dinghy at the dock. There are a ton of other reasons we swapped from our AB to the new Highfield and we've listed those on our website. Overall we've been living with our new dinghy for about a month and every time we offload it from the boat and drag it on the beach we're extremely happy we switched. Eight years after BOJAR's launch, skilful sailor and yacht designer Johan Anker drew the lines for the Dragon One Design. Johan Anker was considered an artist in yacht design - greatly concerned with the beauty of lines and BOJAR doesn’t disappoint. Indeed as a boat of such breathtaking and effortless beauty, a classic gem; she genuinely lifts the human spirit and perhaps even defines the term “classic yacht.” With her keel weight and displacement balanced at approximately 50 / 50 she is an extremely effective sailing boat. Perhaps no surprise then she was the winner of a 'Je ne sais quois’ at the 2012 Panerai Regatta at Cowes; third in class in the Round the Island race and more recently impressive results at the RYS Bicentenary Regatta. There is nothing boring about living on a boat; something is always going on. Deep Week freediving camp ends, we say goodbye to our friends, and take a little road trip south to enjoy the afternoon at a beach. Theres a few major stops in Indonesia. First is Raja Ampat. Did that. Banda and the Spice Islands would have been next. Couldn’t get there due to weather but Komodo national park was next. There is an entire park surrounding the island that has the dragons. And that includes some pretty awesome diving. To be perfectly honest, the dragons partially domesticated at this point. They hang out at the park rangers hut. Actually right next to the kitchen. It smells good and perhaps they get some scraps? That said, they are still magnificent beasts that do still take down massive water buffalo, deer and other wildlife. Their bite is highly toxic due to bacteria in their saliva. Apparently a tourist was bitten just last year. Oh, and that forked stick the guide is holding is to control them if they get too aggressive! BE BRAVE.
