In dieser Episode des OLP Ocean Life Podcast nehmen dich Clemens Stecher und Claus Aktoprak mit in ein Thema, das oft unterschätzt wird: Kommunikation an Bord. Es geht um all das, was Skipperinnen und Skipper abseits von Manövern und Wetterrouting können müssen, damit ein Törn wirklich rund läuft. Clemens erzählt, wie er seine Ocean-Life-Törns versteht: Er bietet keine „Wunschliste“ für jede beliebige Crew an, sondern beschreibt seine eigenen Traumtörns und lädt Menschen ein, ihn dabei zu begleiten. Genau dort beginnt Kommunikation – in der Ausschreibung. Wer zu viel verspricht, riskiert Enttäuschungen. Deshalb formuliert er Ziele bewusst im Konjunktiv, verweist auf Wetterabhängigkeit und macht klar: Es gibt einen Traumpfad, aber keine Garantie auf Wale, Starkwind oder bestimmte Häfen. Ein zentraler Punkt ist die Willkommensrunde an Bord. Bevor Leinen losgehen, gibt es Kaffee, Kekse – und klare Worte. Clemens spricht offen über unterschiedliche Hintergründe, Eigenheiten und Erwartungen. Er legt Wert darauf, dass sich alle vorstellen, ihre Erfahrung und Wünsche teilen und dass Toleranz und Selbstwahrnehmung als Basis definiert werden. Wohlfühlen ist für ihn kein Luxus, sondern Teil des Sicherheitskonzepts: Nur wer sich an Bord sicher und respektiert fühlt, kann Leistung bringen und damit zur Sicherheit beitragen. Im Gespräch geht es auch um typische Konfliktfelder: Mitsegler, die nur „mitfahren“ wollen, während andere ständig anpacken wollen. Erfahrene Segler, die meinen, alles besser zu wissen. Paare, die ihre gewohnten Beziehungsmuster mit aufs Boot bringen und sich gegenseitig blockieren. Clemens zeigt, wie er mit klaren Rollen, definierten Bordregeln und bewusster Aufgabe-Verteilung arbeitet – und warum er Paare im Training manchmal sogar auf zwei Boote trennt, damit beide sich ohne ständige Kommentare entwickeln können. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist Feedback. Statt nach einem missglückten Manöver Vorwürfe zu verteilen, setzt Clemens auf Fragen: Was ist passiert? Was würdest du nächstes Mal anders machen? So entsteht ein Gespräch, in dem die Lernenden selbst Lösungen formulieren, unterstützt durch Skizzen oder Erklärungen dort, wo Wissen fehlt. Ergänzend dazu erklärt er die sogenannte „Closed-Loop-Kommunikation“, bei der wichtige Kommandos wiederholt werden, um Missverständnisse bei Kursangaben oder Manövern zu vermeiden. Zum Schluss sprechen die beiden über das Skipper-Consulting-Programm von Clemens. Dort arbeitet er mit Skippern nicht nur an Manövern, sondern vor allem an diesen Soft Skills: klare Ansagen, Feedback-Techniken, Crew-Führung, Umgang mit Konflikten. Denn am Ende entscheidet nicht nur das Segelkönnen darüber, wie ein Törn in Erinnerung bleibt – sondern vor allem, wie man miteinander spricht. Meet Mitsuharu Kume — the closest real-world equivalent I’ve ever found to Kevin Costner’s “Mariner” from Waterworld. He may not have gills (that I know of), but he has everything else: a life shaped by tides, storms, shipwrecks, deep dives, and a lifelong devotion to the ocean. Mitsu is a fisherman, diver, sailor, photographer, conservationist, educator, and a father. He began life as a marine civil engineer designing harbours in Tokyo… but quickly realised he didn’t want to design the ocean — he wanted to live in it. So he left the office, joined an offshore fishing boat, and never looked back. During his years on Tanegashima he became deeply involved in sea turtle conservation and launched Sea Turtle Crew, an NPO dedicated to protecting loggerhead turtles and teaching island children about the marine world they inherit. 👉 www.turtle-crew.com Today, Mitsu is preparing a 33-foot Coura (a 1969 Ranger 33) to follow the turtles’ ancient route to Mexico. 🌊 Buren Bay — Our Harbour, Our Community Buren Bay is more than the mooring point for my sailboat, Wahine. 요트의 워터탱크 수도 필터와 빌지펌프 필터, 그리고 수도 꼭지 필터를 청소했다. 얼마 전 워터탱크를 청소해서인지, 필터에는 미끌거리는 녹색 이물질이 제법 많이 끼어 있었다. 이런 필터를 주기적으로 관리해 주지 않으면 펌프가 고장 나기 쉽다. 하나하나 작업을 하다 보니 배관과 부속 부위들을 자연스럽게 살펴보게 되었고, 이 배가 처음 어떻게 설치되었는지도 함께 들여다볼 수 있었다. 요트라는 작은 삶의 공간 안에 생각보다 훨씬 많은 장비와 시설들이 들어가야 하다 보니, 배관과 부속들이 복잡하게 얽힌 채 설치되어 있다는 걸 새삼 느낀다. 요트 사용자는 그 편리함에 감탄하고, 요트 관리자는 그 복잡함에 감탄하는 것 같다. 오늘 같은 작업은 비교적 수월한 편이라, 서두르지 않고 쉬엄쉬엄 즐기듯 마무리했다.

🚤 Cosa cambia nella manovra con il doppio timone? Ecco perché è un vantaggio in navigazione In questo video spieghiamo in modo semplice e diretto perché una manovra può essere eseguita con maggiore precisione e stabilità grazie a una barca dotata di doppio timone. Se sei appassionato di vela o stai valutando quale tipo di barca scegliere, questo contenuto fa per te. Una barca con doppio timone è decisamente più stabile rispetto a una con timone singolo. Per fare un paragone automobilistico, è come avere la trazione integrale (quattro ruote motrici) invece che la trazione anteriore o posteriore. Questa configurazione offre maggiore controllo e precisione, soprattutto durante le virate. Nel video mostriamo come, impostando una virata e lasciando la barra e il timone, la barca prosegue comunque nella sua direzione senza perdere equilibrio. La portanza dell’acqua sul timone non agisce in modo brusco, permettendo di manovrare con fluidità: si riesce ad andare verso prua, virare il fiocco e tornare alla barra senza destabilizzare l’imbarcazione. In questo caso, il timone è rimasto perfettamente bilanciato, senza nemmeno toccarlo.
