Dramatic RNLI footage shows a 25-foot yacht with two people onboard stuck on rocks off the Anglesey coast. Holyhead RNLI volunteers were called at 1.52pm on Sunday 19 May and quickly launched their all-weather lifeboat. The yacht had gone aground on the rocky island of The Skerries, approximately two miles from the coast at Carmel Head, Anglesey. On arrival, it became clear to the lifeboat crew that the vessel could not be moved due to the low tide. The lifeboat crew launched the lifeboat’s Y-boat to check the condition of the casualty vessel and brought the yacht’s crew of two onboard the lifeboat and returned them to safety at Holyhead at around 5pm. After consulting with Holyhead Coastguard, the volunteer lifeboat crew re-assembled at 7pm, along with the yacht’s owner, and launched the station’s inshore and all-weather lifeboats. The inshore lifeboat was then able to manoeuvre the yacht into a safe position. The lifeboat crew waited for the vessel to rise with the flooding tide, before being moved into deeper water for a tow to be established by the all-weather lifeboat. The yacht was then towed back to Holyhead Harbour. Holyhead RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager David Owens said: ‘It was a great team effort from all of the crew, who once again showed their immense skill and dedication. Thankfully, both the casualties and our volunteers all returned safely to shore after several hours at sea. ‘This incident shows how, even in calm weather, the tides can render even an experienced sailor helpless. Thankfully he had means of calling for help and did the right thing in doing so.' Holyhead RNLI Coxswain Craig Stalman said: 'It was unusual for us to be called out in such calm conditions, there was a big spring tide of eight knots running around the Skerries, and the crew all worked together to achieve a successful outcome. As we waited for the tide to rise, we were accompanied by dozens of seals who seems to be enjoying the spectacle.'

Last night another IMOCA 60, Foiling, Vendee Globe yacht, has had a major problem as thomas Royasnt in Linked Out has found his forward compartment full of water. He's stopped racing to empty the area and check the damage. We look at the history of the America's Cup . We look at the 2021 Rolex Fastnet Race, which finishes in France. In Sydney Ian Smith Boats looks at the Historical 18 Footer Sprints. And we look at the Sail Sydney Regatta, Day Four wrap. We catch up with North Sails Paul Westlake and Mark Bradford, for their end of year look at the Sport of Sailing, Globally next year. The Vondee Globe fleet are entering the Pacific Ocean, and we look at their weather repor,t as Boris Hermann has a five boat meet-up in the Southern Ocean. A wonderful sight.

| Season 2 | Episode 22 | On this episode I awoke at Pelican Bay after a perfect night on the hook and watch dolphins and a humpback whale pass by the anchorage as I prepare to leave. I made my way over to Little Scorpion and dropped the hook for the night, after which I went snorkeling and exploring the sea caves and rocks surrounding the anchorage. - The last week of 2017 I took an amazing solo sailing trip to the Channel Islands. I visit six anchorages on Santa Cruz Island before sailing for Catalina Island and tying up in Isthmus Cove for New Years Eve. We sailed back on New Years Day enjoying sunshine, great wind and thousands of dolphins. While I was on my trip I started my first podcast and the first episode is up online now. The podcast is titled “A STERN VIEW” and is something of a cruising guide to anchorages and sailing destinations. Each episode is recorded on location and I cover everything I know about the anchorage from my research and experience at the anchorage. I also kept a journal in my logbook and will be posting them as a blog with still photos. This will act as support to the A STERN VIEW podcast as will each new video episode that features the anchorage covered in the podcast episodes. Water in the bilge and Tuna on the grill 🐟 Fishing and Sailing LIFE in the CARIBBEAN We are finally back sailing and are incredibly happy to hoist the sails again. After working on our sailboat for 4 months in Guadeloupe we are now ready to sail the Caribbean Sea again.
