Not all boards on sailing catamarans are the same. Straight daggerboards. Curved C-Boards. Angled Boards. Centreboards. ▫️ They all have one thing in common though. They reduce leeway (especially in lighter conditions) and they give you a bit of vertical lift at speed effectively reducing your displacement through the water. We spent 2 weeks in the Cocos in 1999 and were lucky to produce a film for the Marine Park authorities. The objective was to get a record of the underwater world to be able to use it later to compare with other years. The park managers were great people and we really enjoyed our visit there.

I motor from my home marina to an anchorage close to my sailmaker to have the new mainsail fitted, and to sort out my new genoa furler. In the process I get stuck in the anchorage with a broken outboard, so I have to fix the outboard, or row the 1km to the dinghy landing. I fixed the outboard :)
