Wooop, we had the most amazing holiday in the Philippines in June, diving at Malapascua Island (with the thresher sharks), Moalboal (with lots of turtles) and Oslob (with 14 whalesharks!!). 12/14/2017 - 12/18/2017: Hannah, Mike, and Mike's parents brave freezing temps and high winds to deliver SV Trilogy from Stonington, CT, to Beaufort, NC. Raja Ampat and Komodo are truely some of the most amazing locations of earth for marine life, and arguably the best places for snorkeling. The pristine reef litereally comes to the surface in places while larger creatures like mantas, turtle, and sharks are regular encounters. With Snorkel Venture's group led trips we make sure the only thing you have to worry about is taking in all the beauty before you.

We spend a day exploring Norman’s Cay, both underwater and on land. We snorkel an awesome sunken plane that was used for smuggling drugs in the 1980’s, now home to a variety of reef fish and beautiful coral. The next morning we head south to Shroud Cay, a really cool island at the northern end of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. The park is a beautiful 22 mile long protected area made up of 15 large islands and many other small ones. There is no fishing or taking anything from land, not many structures, and no cell towers, which means no phone service or wifi throughout the area. We spend a whole afternoon winding through the mangroves to reach one of the most incredible, picturesque places we’ve ever seen! Recently had a little trouble getting someone to clean bottom of our catamaran at a reasonable price, so guess what. DIY. Stephen and I did a bit one beautiful morning with just a mask, snorkel and holding our breath. We tied ourselves on with suction handles and rope and tried desperately to not swallow the water filled with sea creatures, algae and who knows what! Then, for the serious cleaning, we got out our Brownie air compressor and Stephen and our friend/ship engineer Bill (we hope he's still our friend after this), finished the job.
