The Most Beautiful Place in Caribbean - Tobago Cays - Sailing Nipe EP 15 After Christmas and New Year we sailed down to Tobago Cays were we spend a couple of days with good snorkeling and in the evenings amazing lobster dinners. We get really good footage with the drone, a bit scary because it was very windy.

This park is nice, we had a fabulous time, a lot to do for most everyone. Our camera missing up so there is missing footage, but there is a playground for the kids and a great fishing pier.  What we loved the most about this park were the boardwalks through what looked likes jungle. When walking the boardwalk you may come across love rocks, if you have another love rock you can replace that one with yours. We thought that was really neat and offers something special for our youth to do or the young at heart. We did not see too much wildlife while there, but have been told and seen pictures of the evidence. While we have seen a lot of wildlife ourselves in other places around Florida, no luck here but we are sure this will change the more we Explore Florida. Grey Preserve James E. Grey Preserve is a New Port Richey city park that preserves 80 acres along the Pithlachascotee River. The park is completely surrounded by an urbanized area - making it a special treat for local residents who want to experience natural surroundings. A variety of recreational facilities are available, including a picnic area, kayak launch, boardwalk, and easy hiking trails. The Pithlachascotee River, known by locals as the "Cotee River", is a blackwater stream with headwaters at Crews Lake that flows through the Starkey Wilderness Preserve, past the Grey Preserve, and through downtown New Port Richey, before flowing into the Gulf of Mexico. The river is navigable by kayak or canoe up to a point about a half mile upstream from Grey Preserve. Its meandering course along the southern boundary of the preserve is a beautiful stretch to paddle or hike along and is a highlight of this park. Entrance to the park is off Plathe Road just west of Little Road. Gates are open from sun up until sun down each day. The gravel entrance road into the park winds past the kayak launch area and continues to a large parking area near the picnic shelters and playground. There are four covered picnic shelters and a large event pavilion available for use by the public. Restroom facilities are located in the picnic area. There are two miles of nature trails winding throughout the preserve, including a loop trail that circumnavigates an isolated bayou. A half-mile long ADA accessible boardwalk extends amidst the floodplain of the river and ends at an overlook of the Cotee River. This is a popular spot for fishing or an occasional glimpse of a dolphin or manatee. #chrisdoeswhat #dininginwithdanielle #homaidchef

With lockdown having been eased, we are now able to get out a little more and travel a little further. I`ve now been able to collect my bike, meet up with (a limited number of ) friends and family, go walking, sailing, make pasty`s and do more boat maintenance. Generally speaking this tiny additional freedom given has made such a difference to how I feel. Plus the weather has been great. Win win.

Vlog#18 Obviously we partied and overslept our alarm, no one is shocked. But we finally set off sailing to San Diego. We carried on as we do. Dolphins came to visit us again, we didn't get great footage, but every day is not a mega pod day! we had decent wind all through the day and night on our passage. all of a sudden we were going sooooo slow, so we decided to check it out, our entire prop was full of weeds. We did some revving back and forth trying to get it out but had to eventually use our trusty rusty pole to pry shit out. The crab pot fiasco ruined our poking pole but trav still managed to get most of it off. we cruised into san diego harbour, was fun for a minute and then we had a rude awakening and they kicked us out as everything was full with people who were doing the bajahaha. so we were left with no where to go. we haven't slept in a couple days and this was not the plan at all. but we made it to mission bay regardless. we loved it, we adventured, saw a lot of cool shit, and made a couple really awesome friends along the way!! overall, who could be mad! lol p.s. if anyone reads this please make a comment on travs amazing hair. i hadn't cut it in quite awhile lollllllll -------------------------------- Instagram- @Sailingdecorum --------------------------------- --------------------------------- *WHO ARE WE?* •We are a Canadian couple, Travis and Jessica. Full article in Multihulls World #MW186: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/exocet-junior-a-unique-catamaran-for-200 We sailed aboard one of the very first production catamarans! In our Who’s Who feature on Bernard Nivelt (see MW178), the famous naval architect mentioned the construction by his father of a prototype sport catamaran, the Exocet, in the family living room... Michel Nivelt was indeed one of the two partners of the La Prairie shipyard - the boatbuilder that launched this catamaran in sprayed polyester and plywood, one of the very first of its kind. While the standard model was equipped with a folding deck enabling it to be transported, its little sibling, the Junior, was content with a much more rigid one-piece plywood deck. This is where Olivier Quaneaux, one of our readers, comes in: he got in touch with us; he contacted us because he had unearthed this little catamaran, carefully restored (in his garage...). But what was he proposing? To let us discover for ourselves this surviving piece of history, at the sailing club - the Club de Voile de Castelnaudary, here in France. With its original sails, this Exocet Junior of course thrilled us. Technical specifications: Builder: Chantier La Prairie Architect: Lucien Gourmez Year of launch: 1962 Production: about 120 examples Length: 14’9” (4.5 m) Weight: 220 lbs (100 kg) Material: Sprayed polyester and plywood Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! In this episode we have a fantastic genanser sail from Ayamonte to Mazagon a great start along one of Spains less known coasts Costa del Luz. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders in 2017. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea. During season 2 We sailded south to Dieppe Normandy France. After a winter in France in Season 3 we started to sail the Atlantic coast of Europe to Xufre in Spain where we lifted the boat over the summer while we where back in Gotland to work at our hostel we got there. Season 4 got a short sailing season where we only sailed to Lagos on the Algarve coast of Portugal where we hauled out once again this time to go throug a long list of boatwork and to build a solar arch to make the boat more self-suficient with electricity. After 6 months in Lagos we kicked-off season 5 with real bluewater sailing first to the northerly Atlantic island Porto Santo and Madeira and then further out to the Azores that lays in the middle of the Atlantic ocean before turning back towards the mainland and south coast of Portugal again.
