We continue exploring the Cornish coast and discover Fowey is a jewel in its crown. We spend four days in the area and take the ferry to Polruan. We loved the block house and discovering the history of the chain which was raised across the harbour entrance to protect us from attack. A birthday celebration breakfast was shared with Ceri before we sail in company to Saltash near Plymouth. We had an idyllic passage with slight seas, gentle breezes, lots of sunshine and down wind sailing. After spending four days anchored in Prince Creek we make our way to the Wacca Wache Marina to refill our diesel and water and to drop off a few bags of trash. From there we make our way down Waccamaw River and cross Winyah Bay after which we anchor for the night in South Santee River. The next day we make our way to Charleston, SC, where we anchor for three days in Dewees Creek. We then make our way thru a shallow section of the ICW and navigate the Elliott Cut which has the strongest current in all of the ICW. We finally anchor south of Charleston in Church Creek. We take a tour around the Sportina 700 Trailersailer which has come onto the market through Boats on Wheels. This 23 footer weighs only 1.25t so doesn't need a meaty 4x4 to tow it and, flaoting in only 34cm of water with the dagger keel raised is a doddle to get onto a trailer. We’re learning the systems. We’re learning to get the best out of our configuration. We’re not going into manoeuvres at the moment, there is no point as we still have things that we want to check. But I think we’re doing really well and every time we are going on the water, we make a step forward.” Section 41. Reconnaissance a) As a campaign cost reduction measure, COR/D has mutually agreed to cooperatively implement a centralised reconnaissance programme for all teams for the reconnaissance of all Competitors’ AC75 Yachts, AC40 Yachts and LEQ12 yachts including both on-land and on-water imagery (the “Joint Recon Programme”). b) Each team is assigned a two-person Recon Unit to follow their every on-water move, but it's not that simple. The cameras are supplied and identical for all Recon Units. Drones are not allowed, and they can't get that close, plus following a boat and keeping a camera steady at 45 knots isn't that easy to begin with. c) A three minute interview follows each on water day, and teams must answer the Recon Unit's questions while trying not to give too much away.
