The Dilly-Dally-Diaries: From Fethiye to Kalkan. Windfinder said 3 to 4 Beaufort. But we ended in a pretty nice thunderstorm with up to 9 Beaufort, coming directly from the front. The old lady Dilly-Dally turned out to be bored by that. We felt save all the time, even if the Bimini started flying...

After leaving The Percy Islands we sailed first to Scawfell Island then on to Brampton Island, which is now an abandoned resort. We encounter a Humpback Whale and calf on the way. We show a couple of boat jobs we did previously, namely fixing the Paguro Generator and remounting the deck wash pump.

We finally see the ocean for the first time in weeks and sail to Key Largo before we make the Bimini crossing. We dive on the Christ of the Abyss which is one of the most beautiful reefs in Flordia and try sea urchin. We are loving this adventure so much, the kids included. In contrast to their tail end of the fleet finish in Marstrand in July, Nico Poons and Charisma showed the way around the race track on the opening day of the 44Cup Cascais, posting a most respectable 2-1-2. While today Charisma, the 2018 44Cup champion (and winner the last time the high performance 44ft long one design long monohulls visited these waters last November), seemed to be the stand-out team, in fact they finished the day just one point ahead of Team Aqua. Chris Bake’s team, which currently holds the 44Cup’s ‘golden wheels’ as overall 44Cup leader, claimed today’s final race and had nearly as consistently good a day as Charisma, posting a 3-2-1.

Learn how to tie the Double Fishermans knot in a matter of minutes. The Double Fishermans knot is a great knot for joining two ropes of equal diameter. The additional turns in the main part of the knot provide some benefits over the single Fishermans knot, making it more secure when not under load while making it easier to undo after it has been under load. It’s always fun getting people involved with the spinnaker launch who have never soon one. 1. Pre-feed the tack 2. Hoist! Like there’s no tomorrow 3. Sheet! 4. Douse the Jib 5. Run with the waves 😎 Prior to launching the kite make sure all lines are rigged correctly (tack, halyard, sheet). It can be done short handed but 4 people is preferred on our trimaran. a. Bowman: rigs the kite and ensures a smooth launch, communicates issues back to the cockpit for adjustments and calls “Made” when hoist is complete. b. Pit: pre-feeds the tack, hoists the kite, douses jib. Makes adjustments based off of calls from the helmsman and bowman. Provides feedback c. Trimmer: assists with hoist (if necessary), sheets the spinnaker, assists with jib douse d. Helmsman: Holds broad reach or appropriate angle into the wind. Commands each step of the process (if not automatic), adjusts mainsail if necessary.

Пришли на Ибицу. Остановились в марине Санта Иуалия дель Рио - это в 16 км на Север от столицы острова. Пришли вечером, поужинали марлeном, которого вытащили ранее и совершили прогулку по городу. На следующий день мы с Машей поехали посмотреть столицу - Ибица таун. Сергей и Андрей остались на лодке. По приезде в столицу Маша в итоге решила пройтись по магазинам, а я побродил по городу, зашел в морской порт, погулял по набережной и посетил крепость и старый город К 6 часам вечера вернулся на лодку.... Hi all, In this episode Liam's troubles continue, and the worry is taking its toll. We also return to living onboard our leopard 48 sailing catamaran. It's been left abandoned for six months which was a terrible mistake. Due to our budgets, we need to continue with the plan to live on Coco and rent out the house as soon as possible.
