S/Y Airspeed had a failing valve on one of the through hulls below the waterline. In this short video we replace the valve in the water, without sinking the boat!

The diesel tank is infected with the famous diesel "BUG". The engine nearly stopped several times during our last outing. We decided to take matters into our own hands and put an end to the problem. For nearly a year, we've been slowly transforming our property into a place we can finally call home. In this episode of Building a Life on Land and Sea, I take you inside the tiny homes for the first time and show the progress that's been happening behind the scenes. The biggest challenge? Getting running water into the units. What sounded simple turned into weeks of digging, moving massive boulders, battling groundwater, and pumping out a trench that seemed determined to stay full. Living on a watershed definitely added a few surprises along the way. As I worked through each obstacle, I found myself relying on lessons learned during years of living aboard sailboats. Boat life taught me how to troubleshoot, adapt, and keep moving forward when plans fall apart. Those same skills are proving just as valuable here on land. Discover the 5 days of fun events offered to all cruisers visiting Sabang during the big annual Marine Festival this year! We visited Sabang citry, Jaboi village, Aneuk Laot village, Krueng Raya village and even had a tour of Banda Aceh. For the last years, many international sailors have discovered this most western part of Indonesia. It makes a perfect stop-over for sailors heading to an Indian Ocean crossing or a visit to one destination of the Golden Triangle: Phuket-Langkawi-Sabang. Very nice people here and more laid-back. Sabang might develop soon into a new marine hub for sailors with marine facilities .. keep posted!
