The iCAT SVN CATAMARANS crew was the first crew ever allowed to film at the Lagoon shipyard. It wasn't easy, but in the end we made this documentary showing you how catamarans are built at the Garonne shipyard in Bordeaux. Our guide is Simone Morelli of the NSS Group, Europe's largest Lagoon dealer. This documentary is part of a major operation celebrating Lagoon's 40th anniversary. In September, a documentary on the shipyard's history will follow.

As a teenager I went sailing the world with my family in a 47 feet steel sailboat made by our own hands. Along came a cat, then a dog, then a bunch of kittens, to share in the adventure. During week two on our passage from Costa Rica to Hilo, Big Island, Hawaii, we experience our first setback. But the weather is nice and we do laundry offshore-sailing-style and get some cool shots from the air of RAN sailing the big blue. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us. WANT MORE? If you have spent time near southeast Florida, you know about the intense Northerlies that come through during the winter months. You have also heard that you don't want to be in the Gulf Stream during them; the Gulf Stream flows south to north, which, in presence of a northerly wind, results in nasty sea conditions. This was definitely a risky sail and I got to put myself and the boat to the test. We have to follow all the rules that come along with being in a foreign country including obtaining a "Despacho" when we leave a port which is the main reason that we are anchored off these beautiful beaches and are not allowed to get off the boat. We also have been anchoring and resting during the day while the trade winds are howling and as night approaches and the "night lee" calms things down we hug the coast and motor along to our next anchorage. Bringing Yabá from wreck to dreamy! Episode 137 In this episode of our boat restoration, we install our windlass into place, a very big step forward to being able to anchor in paradisiac places. This episode was not to teach how to install a windlass or to quickly show how we did it, it was more to show you guys a more realistic view of how our days go by at the yard. We try, we fail, we change plans half way, we get frustrated, we laugh and we start again. Besides that, we take you for a ride to see the fastest boats in town at the world famous Ocean Race! 👉 SUBSCRIBE to not miss out on the new episodes: https://bit.ly/3dI3hBn YOU CAN SUPPORT OUR PROJECT: 👉 By becoming a patron - join to unlock exclusive content: https://www.patreon.com/sailingyaba 👉 Through Paypal donations: https://bit.ly/3kR4Ezo or sailingyaba@gmail.com 👉 By wearing our products: https://shopsailingyaba.com/ 👉 GET OUR FAVORITE TOOLS: https://www.amazon.com/shop/sailingyaba We are forever grateful to everyone that is living our dream with us ♥️ 🇧🇷 Legendas em Português em todos os episódos! 🇪🇸 Subtítulos en español en todos los episodios! 💙 Who are we? We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way. More about us: 👉 About us + Q&A https://youtu.be/TldDlohjwTs 👉 more info about the project http://www.sailingyaba.com 💙 Massive thanks to our amazing team of carpenters that never let us down and continue to amaze us at every step of the process: Toninho, Zeca, Hélio, Claiton, William, Nezo, Nico, Adilson, Beto and Luiz. We're in Marion, Massachusetts this week... just down the road from where a 12-year-old Captain Q caught the bug of sailing at a summer camp at Tabor Academy. We were very keen to look at this classic bluewater sailboat designed by Alan Gurney - who had a lot of success with his early designs including Genevieve, which won the overall at the SORC in the mid-1960s. This early success set him up for an illustrious career designing some very fast, classic sailboats, including this 1968 Royal Huisman (pronounced Houseman) 44 EDSON & CAPTAIN Q TIPS FOR STEERING SYSTEMS: https://edsonmarine.com/captain-q/ ======= CAPT Q MERCH ===== https://www.etsy.com/shop/CaptainQYachtHunter ============== Support us ============== Like what we're doing & want to help?? SOLD! Congratulations and safe travels to the new owners. The Nordic Tugs 42 design is one of the most popular versions of this very capable trawler tug. Nordic Quest, hull 117, is well into the production run and she benefits from many of the improvements developed by her predecessor sister ships. She is a two stateroom and two head boat. Nordic Quest is operated from the raised pilothouse, so you are up high and forward in the boat with a commanding view. There are opening doors port and starboard for convenient access to outdoors. The visibility is excellent in all directions. Smart Plug shore power connections are just outside the starboard pilothouse door. Behind the comfortable Llebroc helm chair is a bench seat area for guests and crew to take in the surroundings making it easy for the family to be involved with underway activities. The navigation display panels are installed overhead and forward and there are two large Furuno displays. The helm dash area has a clever tilt up access panel for inspection and servicing wires and the steering system. The engine control is single lever and you have a bow thruster joystick. The best seat in the house may be the aft facing “throne” on the starboard side that is roomy, comfortable and an ideal location for relaxing and talking to the skipper while traveling. #JMYS, #NordicTugs42, #TalkThroughTour, #Trawlers Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeffmerrillyachtsales/?fref=nf Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/merrillyachts Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jmystrawlers/ Music: Prelude No. 6 by Chris Zabriskie is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://chriszabriskie.com/preludes/ Artist: http://chriszabriskie.com/ Music: Solo Piano Pack - Marcozannone - Audiojungle.net

Contest hat wieder ein "kleines" Boot gebaut... was die 17-Meter-Yacht nicht annähernd korrekt beschreibt. Feiner Bootsbau aus den Niederlanden.
It is time to cross the Bay of Biscay! But first we sail from Guernsey to Camaret Sur Mer in Brittany, France. During our three day stay we explore the natural park around Camaret Sur Mer and prepare for the crossing. On the Bay of Biscay we meet a lot of dolphins and on the first night around 50 pilot whales swim with RAN. Amazing! The second day the wind dies and we start the motor. After a few hours some problems with the gear box appears and we have to stop the motor and continue to sail in very weak wind with the sails slamming. The third day we arrive to A Coruña, Spain. Finally sun and warm weather! Update! The problem with the transmission is solved. It seems to have been originating from something that got stuck in the prop. We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved in to our sailboat RAN, a one-off aluminium built Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started sailing south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds takes us. Join us on a tour of the Vaan R4 at the Cannes Yachting Festival. This is an electric aluminium catamaran build in the Netherlands with some interesting design details. . The R4 is the smallest of the Vaan range at 42 foot (12.8 m). Her hulls are 60% made from recycled aluminium and where possible Vaan have used circular materials, for example the cork decks. . It´s all part of their "Sail the Planet" philosophy: sustainable, yet luxurious sailing.

O Gustavo e Paloma decidiram trocar o apartamento onde moravam por um barco e começar uma família no mar. Logo veio a Catarina e a família aumentou.

For the full written captain’s report, test and performance data, and more about the Ocean Alexander 100 Skylounge, go to: http://www.boattest.com/review/ocean-alexander/3764_rel2948 The Ocean Alexander 100 Skylounge is all about entertainment, both inside and out, just as her open flybridge version is. But now she’s got different space used in different ways: The enclosed Skylounge on the upper deck has a wet bar and day head, with a larger wet bar and a large electric grill just aft, outside on the bridgedeck. For privacy in port or to enjoy breezes at anchor, she has a lounging area at the bow, plus the usual dining/lounging areas aft. Because she’s capable of ocean passages, there's a Portuguese bridge.
We go sailing on the multi-award winning 38ft Seawind 1160 catamaran, arguably the world's largest catamaran under 40 feet in terms of space and ocean ability. The Seawind 1160 has won countless design awards and has sailed to all parts of the globe including a full circumnavigation of the world. The Bellota the Bilge Dragon t-shirt can be found here: https://www.bonfire.com/bellota-the-bilge-dragon/ All of the milling in the last episode is starting to show its worth as the workbench comes together. The Emmert patternmaker's vise, which was a generous and beautiful gift from a supporter, will be just aft of center to make the best use of both the bench's surface and the vise's clamping capabilities. Maybe we dip a little deep into the process to make this bench, but it's such an important piece of interior furniture for Arabella, made with a mixture of some of the loveliest and most storied wood we have, that will provide a working surface that's extremely useful even before it's completed. It will speed up the work on the interior, eliminating the need to carry pieces up and down from the shed's benches to work on them. We also suspect that there's a lot of you out there who might want to build a workbench even if you don't intend to build a boat around it. We have deep, deep gratitude for so many people for episode 181. Thanks to Wes, who spent so much quality time with Steve planning and executing the bench, getting up early every day, and working the whole time through with passion and good spirits. Turns out, he's a goofball and has become a dear friend. Thanks to our supporter for the vise, who was tickled pink last week to see their father's very useful and much appreciated tool receive a place of pride in Arabella. And finally, thanks to everyone who has pre-purchased a t-shirt through Bonfire for this current fundraising campaign. As Steve said, we have nearly enough for our sail material, and we're hoping to go all the way with the funds for the standing rigging. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building a 38' wooden boat in Steve's backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat Referral: Need something TotalBoat sells? Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn’t have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane. However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on. We hope you can join us as we sail around the world and keep #bloodydoingit #sailing #boatlife

We are now sailing offshore deep into the roaring 40's on our way to Cape Horn and the waves and breeze are picking up, but not quite as forecasted. Fog and rain make the conditions colder. Can work work together as a team to make our weather window? About Us: We are two young racing sailors that decided to leave life on land and accomplish our goals of sailing around the world and learning about and experiencing different cultures. Originally from the Great Lakes, we left Newport Rhode Island in July of 2019 after refitting our boat DIY style. We then sailed to Maine, and from there down the East Coast of the USA, around Cape Hatteras, to the Bahamas, Back to Miami, and then to the Virgin Islands. From there we headed south to Grenada to escape hurricane season, then back up to St. Maarten where we launched our first Atlantic Crossing to Horta, Azores. We made a quick trip back to the USA in July of '21 to defend our Chicago - Mackinac Race overall title, then it was back to cruising the Canaries, where we launched for our second Transatlantic voyage, sailing to Brazil in South America and on to Uruguay. Our goal is to sail around the world via Cape Horn, and that is where we are headed now. Capturing footage to share this epic adventure with you as we round the horn and venture into the canals and fjords of Patagonia, Chile. Want To Learn More About Us and See Where We Are in Real Time? This is the dream: You're sailing around the world and visit a stunningly beautiful island where you are welcomed by the village Chief. You become friends with the locals and are no longer a tourist, and you are allowed to see what life is really like in a different place. You create lasting friendships and you take away mementos you will cherish forever. And when it's time to leave, you stay longer, because you will never find a better place than this. Sadly, this dream doesn't happen as often as it used to. But it CAN HAPPEN in Fulaga... Ten years ago B.K. ("before kids"), we sailed a Lagoon 380 named "Honeymoon" halfway around the world to Sydney, Australia. Along the way we shared our experiences via YouTube and, by happenstance, created one of the first "sailing channels." We also realized what an incredible experience we were having and that someday we wanted to do it again, only this time with kids. OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and through the Panama Canal. We have dealt with massive repairs in the South Pacific, the Coronavirus lock down in New Zealand, a Category 5 Cyclone in Fiji, and now we are cruising in Covid Free Australia. This leg of our journey begins in Cadiz, home of the Spanish navy and American naval bases. We one of the greatest sails to date through the Straits of Gibraltar at 8 knots on headsail alone. Africa on one side Europe on the other, sunshine and good wind, it doesn't get any better. Gibraltar is a real surprise it's an absolutely fascinating place. A tiny English territory in Spain, it's a bit surreal! The Rock of Gibraltar is quite a climb but really worth it. Caves Monkeys, Tunnels and amazing views. Gib has good cheap marinas and the best anchorage on this coast, well protected and close to the action. From Gib we can sail East into the sunshine into the mediterranean. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You Tube are now putting mid -role adds on videos, but there is a way to see the current videos with no adds at all before they get released to the public. With the children leaving home we decided to sell our house in the UK and buy a boat in Holland. After two years refitting our Hans Christian 48T we have now set off a world voyage. We are retiring early because we want to attempt this voyage in good health and while we're fit and strong enough to really enjoy it. We will have to work a bit as we go until we can draw our pensions and we honestly don't know how well that will work. In our real lives we are journalists and filmmakers so it was only natural for use to document our travels by filming the journey. We aim to produce a professional standard vlog of the whole trip and try to give the viewer a real insight into what it's like to live and travel on a 48 foot sailboat. Our first aim is to sail South. After a winter getting iced in on the Markermeer in the Netherlands Judy insisted on warmer weather! So if you start from Episode 1 you will see us setting off from Eastbourne in the UK and travelling along the South Coast to Plymouth to enter a rally called ARC Portugal. Our first goal is to reach the Mediterranean and that means sailing across the infamous Bay of Biscay. This was a very good test for our boat as the bay lived up to it's fearsome reputation and split the whole fleet with a force 10 storm. Storm Miguel cut through our path and meant we had to run to mainland Spain to escape the massive seas and fearsome winds. Six boats couldn't make it in time and spent several very uncomfortable days at sea. The fleet had several broken boats, but thankfully no injured people. And this was just Episode 2! The excitement continued for the rest of our trip to the Med. Dolphins played in our bow wave, we sampled fantastic local foods and wines, great port in Porto! We found some beautiful anchorages and visit some wonderful historic places like Lisbon in Portugal, Cadiz in Spain and the fascinating port of Gibraltar. We will show you what it's like to winter in the Mediterranean, how much it all costs and give hints and tips on where to go how to save money with your boat and the places you stay. We are also talking to other sailors. After years of broadcasting journalism we know how to get peoples stories and we regularly film other sailors to show their boats and lifestyle as well as ours. We can always learn from others. Our long term plan is to spend a few years in the Mediterranean, on our list of place we want to visit are; Mallorca, Malta, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Italy, Tunisia, to name but a few! When we feel we've seen the best of what the Med has to offer we will cross the Atlantic to the Caribbean, on to the Pacific and beyond! #sailingfairisle
We did a shoutout to a special, potential intern: https://www.instagram.com/p/CcWVEITvo7q/ Spread the word on IG and FB! If you applied last week, we'll be in touch soon. Centerline blocking does one big, important thing, and it's something that's barely noticed below decks: it adds rigidity between deckbeams along the center of the deck structure fore and aft on any boat. A nice, tight fit that's pleasing to the eye from the interior of the boat is preferred, and the rabbets into which these pieces of wood fit, when regularly and lovingly executed, are barely noticed when they're done right. KP nails it. They're finished with TotalBoat Varnish Primer and TotalBoat Gleam 2.0. Links are below. Some of what makes this boat shed special is the lumber we have access to. It's not like the dimensional lumber that KP has been able to order up in the past from the parts person at the yard they worked for, and we get their take on what it's like to start every project with a bit of milling from some extremely raw stock that's been out to dry for the last few years as it waits for its place on the boat. We get some trout delivered by an avid neighborhood fisherman, and Akiva gets one of his many spring groomings (which now Aaron is pleased to execute on a regular basis since the weather has changed), and an Adventure Cart is realized. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve started as an amateur boat builder building a 38' wooden boat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when he and the crew will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. This is a special episode because we can now say, even though we have done two previous ocean crossings, that we have crossed an ocean under our own sails!! We left Mexico three weeks earlier, stopping at some remote islands for scuba diving for a week, then sailing another several weeks, even crossing the equator for the first time! Sailing was amazing, and we were very lucky to have gotten the winds that we did! Join us on our adventures across the Pacific Ocean! Thanks for following the adventures of WE!
