Our sail across the Atlantic Ocean continues. We were on the home straight, everything was going smooth and then it happened..... We spotted a single handed French sailor LOST AT SEA. Having being dismasted and stranded at sea for 3 weeks with no engine, we spotted this dismasted yacht being thrown around by the fierce swell of the Atlantic. In part 1 you saw us establish a tow with the stranded vessel and then.... SNAP the tow line broke which then became a regular occurrence. We managed to reconnect the tow every-time. After countless times of trying to summon the help of the coastguard from various Caribbean islands, each time getting a refusal of help. We knew it was up to us to get the lost sailor to safety. That was the only thought in all of our minds as we battled through 6 meter seas with 40+ knot winds. "If this was in the UK the @rnli would have been here - a sentence we would constantly say to each-other" After a sleepless night, with the help of our moral boosting egret "Rodders" we all battled against the odds to rescue this stranded sailor. It's strange to think, that even to this day, we haven't even spoke to the sailor that was lost at sea. Whoever says that catamarans are not a "seaworthy" "blue-water" sailing vessel needs to watch the video. Coco our Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40 done everything we would expect from a seaworthy blue-water sailing boat. You never know maybe @WarnerBros might want to do a film on our successful nightmare. Haha! All jokes aside, we are happy everyone is safe. At the end of the day, we are all in this community together, and without each-other, where would we be? This stunning mega sailing catamaran was launched in May 2010 and exhibited as a world premiere at the Cannes International boat show in September 2010. After the show, the yacht started its charter activity and become one of the most popular yachts in the Sunreef Yachts Charter fleet. IPHARRA accommodates up to 12 guests and 4-5 crew members. It is a great yacht for both family and business charters. Her chartering areas are the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

HURRICANE IRMA is definitely taking her toll and destroying everything in her path. This update features some of the first aerials and images I was able to find on social media of the affected areas, including Tortola in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), and many areas of St Martin shot just after Hurricane IRMA. The storm is still spinning as a huge category 5 hurricane with 180mph winds at the eye... current forecast has her heading straight for Florida next, so anything you can do to get out of her way is extremely advisable! Heaving to is an important skill that is often overlooked. It is an excellent storm tactic and it can be used to "park" the boat in open water that is too deep to anchor. I recommend practicing heaving to in fair weather so when things are rough you can do it without have to think too much.

Our Sailboat has No Prop, No Rudder and now it's time to Launch! Annnnd we have given ourselves 3 days to launch because we're ready to be ON THE WATER! So buckle up because it's go time. Our once salvaged sailboat has been sitting on the hard through the winter. It's summer now, and time to hit the ocean. We have a couple of big projects before it's safe to launch again. Mainly the fact that our prop shaft was leaking and needed to be serviced. A HUGE thank you to all who have been supporting us this past year. Keep in mind we bought her at auction without ever meeting the owner! The owner was sailing along and ran aground - hard. Hard enough that the keel pivoted and pushed the aft end up into the hull. This force cracked the internal grid in several places and broke a portion of the grid free from hull. At some point an inspection was done, insurance was called and decisions were made.
