MorMor arrives fresh off the plane from Sweden! We visit a friend's off-grid over-water house complete with resident nurse shark population for amazing snorkeling, and I replace some of the crusty old lines on Delos with fresh and snazzy new ones. After MorMor (Karin's mom) arrives from Sweden we decide to set out on an adventure into the mangroves. As we come around the corner I spot a house and head in to take a closer look. It turns out that it actually belongs to someone we know and she invites us up for a tour of her private island, which has an amazing house built over the water complete with a resident nurse shark population. Sierra gets to snorkel with her first shark and she loves it! After snorkeling and exploring I decide to wakeboard back to Delos to tackle a project of replacing the running rigging on Delos. After working full time for 5 weeks straight on our hurricane damaged catamaran, grinding fibreglass in the Guatemalan heat, we take a well deserved boys trip to El Tunco, in El Salvador, where we make a bunch of new friends and surf local spots Bocana, Bocanita, Sunzal and Punta Roca. We then get back to Rio Dulce and rent motorbikes for the day and blast around to different waterfalls and local villages. We sail a lagoon 42 in the British virgin islands. We spent the night at Norman Island having a party at the famous Willy T. In the morning we moved over to the rock formation known aas the Indians for some excellent snorkelling, Amanda Might have had a wardrobe malfunction in the water and a tough time getting back in the dinghy. Then we had a great sail over to Cooper Island where we picked up a mooring for the night and had a party on one of the other flotilla boats. Low friction rings are a robust and cost-effective addition to your boat. Using HMPE (high modulus polyethylene) rope such as Dyneema or Spectra makes them incredibly strong, but you'll need to use a Brummel Lock Splice to attach them properly. Auf den Bahamas haben wir Christoph Vougessis getroffen. Mit seiner Hurley 22 "Shalom" hat er direkt nach dem Abitur die Segel gesetzt, um den Atlantik zu überqueren. Auf den Kanaren traf er die Backpackerin Anna Haubrich, die spontan als Crew anheuerte. Die beiden segelten den Seezwerg gemeinsam über den Atlantik nach Martinique und dann durch die karibischen Inseln. Auf Guadeloupe trennten sich die Weges des jungen Paares. Während Anna per Flieger nach Kuba und dann Mittelamerika reiste, segelte Christoph größtenteils einhand über Jamaika und Kuba auf die Bahamas, wo wir ihn im Mai 2017 trafen und dieses Interview führten. Kurze Zeit später setzte Christoph seinen Kurs von Nassau auf die Azoren ab und erreichte die Inselgruppe gut vier Wochen später. Über England segelte "Shalom" nach Holland und überwinterte dort, bevor Christoph seine Reise im Frühjahr 2018 in Hamburg beendete.
