Rough seas and caring for Sierra have taken their toll on Kazza, and we realize just how tough this lifestyle has become. Join us for some bad weather in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Not much fun punching into 35+ knots for the 4 inexperienced sailors onboard. We then say goodbye to our guests and sit down to have a chat to you about the most recent series of unfortunate events and how everything led up to us running aground and an accident onboard. As cruisers, most people we meet suggest to us that we move rather quickly around the world. We never really spend too long in one place before we either start getting itchy feet or as in this case are forced to keep moving to meet people in a certain location. This is a good lesson for others who've just set off or plan to. Try and avoid meeting people in places, when you can, make them come to you. It'll be one heck of a sweeter ride. Coiling line correctly is widely misunderstood. To coil braided line properly and not create twist, do not rotate your hand when creating loops. Loops should not be oblong (with twist introduced when coiling the line), but should be in figure eights. This way the line fill run hockle and tangle free when next used.

I was warned. Various cruisers that we had met who had been in the area previously all knew what these pigs were like. People said to me "you watch out for them pigs son they'll gitcha." Alas, I did not listen. The bite through the shorts doesn't actually look too bad but in the next few days will become a large bruise. There are probably some people who are going to say that it wasn't technically my ass and I will grant you that whilst it wasn't exactly the area I would like to know if you would feel comfortable if a stranger rubbed you there? Maybe the worst thing out of the whole event was the loss of one of my 4 pairs of good shorts. I have often wondered what people find so intriguing about these creatures, people coming from miles away to watch them.
