Join the Barbados 50 yachts who took part in the Cape Verde mini-cruise. After sailing from Fogo (55nm), the fleet (now one group) arrives in another Tarafal, this time on Santiago. This was was the 11th port visited by the fleet. Take a bus tour around the island with Pedro (mobile 921 73 55) who speaks English and is reliable. We did cover too much on this day tour so I recommend visiting the island in 2 parts on different days. A special thanks to Lutz Meyer-Sheel, marina owner for this mini-cruise planning and support. Just a week after placing 1st in class at the St. Thomas International Regatta, Nala faced off against the toughest competitors in the Offshore Multihull class at the BVI Spring Regatta. The light air regatta provided Nala and crew with new challenges; after a few adjustments Nala found her groove and finished the regatta strong, landing in 2nd place overall, ahead of an Outremer 5x, three Gunboat 60s, the supercharged Gunboat 66 Extreme H20 and behind the always formidable Gunboat 62 Elvis.

In a tiny Mexican town, we work against all odds to successfully build a stitch and glue nesting dinghy, the Fishbote 11 by Bateau Boats. As novices, we learn quite a bit about resin and fiberglass as our dinghy comes together. Being in a remote location, we have to do a bit of searching for suitable materials, improvising when we can’t find what we need and struggling with a less than ideal workspace and conditions. However, in the end, it all comes together. This is the third of a three-part series. In this installment, we finally cut the boat in half, finally making it a nesting dinghy! We also get to the finishing touches of adding the gunnels and cap rail, cleats for the seat, buoyancy chamber and gel coat. "Der genialste Geburtstag, den ich je hatte. Auf Grenada!" Die südlichste Insel auf unserem Plan. Zusammen mit Familie Rosentoft und 2 anderen dänischen Familien lagen wir 2,5 Wochen in der Clark's Court Bay im Süden der Insel und haben unter anderem Hendriks Geburtstag gefeiert. Dort ist es wirklich traumhaft. In der Bucht hat sich eine große Segler-Community zusammen gefunden. Auf der daneben gelegenen Insel Hog-Island ist täglich Segler-Treff. Wochenends gibt es Live Musik und Jam Sessions von anderen Seglern, die sich zum Spielen zusammen gefunden haben. Die Atmosphäre war so angenehm und entspannt. Die Zeit verfliegt nur so, wenn man so viele Bekannte oder Freunde in der Nähe hat und man gefühlt jeden Tag bei ein paar Drinks am Strand landet. :D Wir haben es sehr genossen! In this episode, we have a leisurely sail out to the coast of Palos Verdes and then back in. A total of around 13 miles that gave us the chance to raise the sails for the first time in over two years! Before we left First Mate fixed two tears in the Main, but then we were on our way. Sorry for the poor audio in some places. It was due to a new action cam that I was testing, and I did not have my other audio gear available. The cam produces fairly good video, but the audio is really bad and I could not process the over modulation out of it. Thanks for watching! This is a brief review of the Akaso EX7000 action cam. I decided to keep it brief because I was not pleased with the quality of the cam. The video was decent at 1080p and 60 fps, but the audio was terrible. No way to adjust it and when events or talking in the scene were too loud, the audio distorted terribly. The remote was non-functional from the start, and the WiFi was difficult to get working on my iPad and never worked on my Android. Although I will keep it for fill in shots, I do NOT recommend it. We start working on several priority projects as soon as we took over ownership of the catamaran. We re laced the trampoline and installed lifeline netting around the vessel. We were having issues with the heads on the boat so we decided to replace the Jabsco- factory installed inexpensive heads with a higher quality marine head- Raritan. Tomas installed one electric head for our guests and a manual head for us. We replace out several chafed lines and do several electrical repairs on old wires. We start ordering all the equipment for the business and start moving it all aboard. And then we travel back to Puerto Rico to attend the DRNA required navigation course. After we finish the week long course we take the ferry over to Vieques, PR. We spend several days in Vieques and try to handle things for the business. At the end of our trip we go to a beautiful wedding in Condado where Milan was asked to be the ring bearer. We then head back to Florida to hopefully wrap things up with the boat and get her back in the water to do the shakedown from St. Augustine down to Vero Beach.
