You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. We are nearing the end of our journey from Arrecife on Lanzarote island to Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Tenerife island. Leaving Puerto Megan on the southern side of Gran Canaria island, we were sheltered by the prevailing northern winds. I was warned of the acceleration zones between the islands, and with one reef in both sails I thought we were ready for what we are heading into. Boy was I wrong. The wind and waves hit us hard. Galopin was healing hard. It was the first time Seb said "Dad, I'm really scared here". We quickly took another reef and then a third and last reef and had the boat under control. But the waves were still battering us as we had to got upwind for several hours before we could begin to cross over to Tenerife overnight. It was the roughest sail we'd had together so far, no bullshit sailing. Belle nuit efficace encore pour le skipper Actual qui est en train de négocier la dépression située dans le sud des Açores. Dans un flux contraire de secteur sud-ouest d’une vingtaine de nœuds, Yves optimise sa route pour faire le plus d’ouest possible, ce qui lui permettra ensuite d’avoir un meilleur angle de vent lorsqu’il sortira de l’influence de ce système météo. L’Actual Ultim est ce matin proche du centre dépressionnaire, il devrait virer de bord en milieu de matinée afin d’éviter de tomber dans les calmes de cet « œil » et poursuivre sa route sud, toujours au près, vers les Canaries. D’abord rapide, ce bord s’annonce un peu laborieux à partir de mercredi avec un passage de dorsale et les calmes habituels qui accompagnent ces zones de transition. Au taquet! Le golfe de Gascogne est déjà dans le sillage de l’Actual Ultim. Yves le Blevec a très vite adopté un rythme de navigation soutenu pour composer avec les conditions très musclées de la nuit dernière. Une brise de nord-ouest de 20 à 30 nœuds et une mer formée l’ont amené à beaucoup manœuvrer et à effectuer plusieurs changements de voiles. A 20 nœuds en début de nuit, à 30 nœuds au cœur du golfe de Gascogne et à plus de 20 nœuds encore au petit jour le skipper Actual est entré dans le match rapidement, il en avait envie… A la mi-journée ce dimanche, Yves est en passe de doubler le cap Finisterre, il va tracer vers l’ouest pour aller en bordure de la dépression située au large des Canaries avant de plonger sud.
