We could think of a dozen more reasons why not to go on a cruise ship but we thought we'd try and keep it short (plus it was about 10000 degrees inside La Vagabonde with no air conditioning... maybe that's ONE plus to going on a cruise ship 😂). *It should be noted that there is a time and place for cruise ships and if you prefer to travel with ease and comfort, do it. Each to their own. This is just our opinion on the whole matter.* We feel really lucky to not have to have leaned towards the dark side in representing a cruise ship line, which is the opposite of what we're about. With Kejstral now back to full health we sail NW to the Greek island of Kos, and get hit by the notorious acceleration zone on the NE tip of the island. The first seam down from the head on the mainsail fails and we are forced to take it in for repair. Zlatco runs a small sail repair business opposite Kos marina and does an amazing job, not only repairing the seam, but beefing up areas on the sail that look suspect, all for a very reasonable cost. We meet up with good friends Rob & Carole Stone on S/Y Darksyde, before heading off firstly to Yali, and then on to the volcanic island of Nisyros. This volcano is one of the very few where you are able to get right into the crater, and being down there certainly takes your breath away! Feeding the wild baby ducklings in our backyard. These little ducks always come up for food every day now, and they are coming much closer than they have in the past. You see they left their mom on the outside of the fence. The last batch of ducks that came through there were 3 ducklings and they did this till they got too large to fit through the fence. It is nice to see this mom duck had 11 ducklings that made it. Took our boat window off, getting back to work on our floor, have so much left on the Mercruiser 3.0. We have taken the window off the Bayliner Bowrider 175 and are continuing to clean. Meguiar's is working perfectly to clean up the oxidation on the fiberglass. The floor in our boat is fitted raw wood, have to make that look so much better. The boat engine, while a new rebuild has to be completely gone over. The mechanic we trusted to stab this didn't tighten things, used wrong bolts, if a bolt was even there, and lost parts. I know my wife and I working together can get this Bayliner boat on the water. This is only a small step as we continue working on our Big Dreams. Follow along as we breath new life into this 2004 Bayliner Bowrider. Next steps are, getting the floor solid and cleaning up the window to be repainted. In Socorro you will see giant manta rays, seven species of sharks, clouds of jacks, barracuda and wahoo and friendly bottlenose dolphins. Depending on the time of year you can see humpback whales and whale sharks!

So this is race 4 in the MCC Burton cup series and I once again enter sailing single handed. This is a fully crewed race series so I am at a bit of a disadvbantage but with the hull freshly scrubbed off, a nice breeze and a good course I'm all set for a good sail at least.
