Last Thursday three of us went to Panama City, Florida to help out a friends family. The devastation is insane! We were only able to help out one house with trees on it. There is SO much to do. We hope we will be going back in a few weeks to help a local church in the area. The amount of help in this city alone is overwhelming! I ask you to pray for every person involved from Florida all the way up the east coast.

We got no bow thruster! Really hard to maneuver these big Amels without it. So, we're going to replace the propeller by taking the bow thruster out of the boat while the boat's still in the water. My favorite parts of having a Youtube channel are 1: YOU guys, who follow our little sailing adventure and the magic that occurs when we get to meet, and 2: Getting to experience something new as a result of those meetings. When we met one of this channel’s subscribers and now friend, Duarte, we got inspired to catch and cook an octopus in Culatra, Portugal. There were a few challenges associated with this endeavor of ours. For one, neither Ryan or I fish, let alone octopuses. Also, the idea of fishing makes me slightly queasy. Still, I was determined to get out of my comfort zone to catch this octopus. First, we had to get equipment to make this octopus fishing operation a success. We were helped by our friend Ricardo from Sopromar and Joao from the local fishing store in Lagos, who assisted us in getting the right fishing equipment. Once that task completed, we left Lagos and headed to Culatra via Portimão and the famous Benagil caves, where we made a touristic escapade. Well arrived in Culatra, we met with Jonna, from Sailing Tangaroa, who joined us in this octopus catch and cook adventure, and after weeks of anticipation, finally got to drop the line and hook in the water and try our luck. | Season 3 | Episode 45 Welcome to Season 3 of my channel! On this episode we make our way to the isolated anchorage of Bänö and I get my first proper "Bows To" experience. After a few flybys... or floatbys in this case, Neil finds a spot he is happy with and we make our way in and get tied up to a tree and a large stone. This style of anchoring in common in Scandinavia where the rock faces often make steep decent to depths safe enough to pull a sailboat right up to the rock face. With the help of our stern anchor whom was dropped and paid out at a safe distance and keeps us off the rocks and snug in our anchorage. This season will follow my time on board SV Arcturus as we explore the Åland Islands and beyond. We sail into cities, tie up on small islands, anchor bows to and ride out a blow before heading back to Sweden. I hope you will follow along with us on the trip. We found the eden deep in the canyon of the desert. Our trek into the Havasupai Indian Reservations was a much anticipated adventure even long before the lottery back in February. It was a trip that came close to not even happening after a major flood in July 2018. The reopening of the trail into Oasis was well worth the long hike and worth every moment thinking about the place where the people of the blue green waters live, where the waterfalls run bright even in the dark of the night. Randi left me for six days to go visit her sister in Oregon, giving me the opportunity to push my work ethic to it's limit. I'm challenging myself to get as much work done as possible while she's gone, so that when Randi returns she will be amazed. In this vlog I tore up our old water tank lid, made a new one, sanded and re-coated the tank with food-grade epoxy. The next step will be to plumb the newly refurbished tank to the galley sink so we can have running water like human beings. O ratinho se foi, e o ventou chegou !!! Dessa vez não nos pegou de surpresa, pelo contrario, estávamos preparados ate demais !!Usamos um sistema de ancorar com duas ancoras, e foi ótimo, ficamos tranquilos, e seguros, mais um aprendizado para conta. Foram 3 dias de ventos fortes na baia de Loviste na Croacia. Assim que o vento melhorou, seguimos para Korcula, uma ilha muito charmosa e cheia de historia sobre o explorador Marco Polo. Como nosso tempo pela Croacia esta acabando, seguimos velejando para o Sul onde iremos dar saída, fizemos um pitstop em Zuljiana, um lugar encantador com a agua mais clara que ja vimos !!! Von Dover aus geht es gleich in der Früh weiter in Richtung Isle of Wight. Da die Strömung mal wieder gegen uns ist entscheiden wir und dafür kurz zu ankern und zu warten. Am Nachmittag ging es weiter auf der Route und wir hatten eine sehr entspannte Nachtfahrt. Angekommen in Gosport machen wir uns zwei entspannte Tage im Hafen uns segeln dann weiter über den Kanal. Auf dem Weg nach Guernsey erwarten uns nicht eingeplante 35 Knoten Wind und schnelle hohe Wellen.
