It's the Catalina F***ing Wine Mixer! Also known as Chris's Birthday weekend. Yes, we spent Captain Chris's birthday sailing to Santa Catalina Island where we celebrated with friends and family. It was our first visit, but most definitely not our last. We had as much fun off screen as we did on, and even though this doesn't capture everything it happens to be a pretty good recap, so we hope you enjoy! I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel the world. I make vlogs sharing my ups and downs, and my adventures in vans, on motorbikes, and on sailboats. - Who is Champ? Champ is my handsome 14-year-old Labrador, who travelled almost everywhere with me for his whole life. He loves chin scratches, fetching sticks, and scarfing down cheeseburgers and pizza. - What camera equipment do you use? I use a Panasonic FZ2500, a DJI Mavic Pro, a Rode video micro with Deadcat, a Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, as well as DIY tripods and lights. - What are your vehicles? I drove a 1992 Dodge Ram B350 camper van all over North America for about two years. Travelling by motorcycle made for some unique trips. I explored the Canadian Maritimes (and deserts and backroads all over the continent) on a 2002 Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa dual sport bike, and also rode my 1999 Yamaha V-Star XVS1100 cruiser with a Champion Escort sidecar across my home country twice. From land to water travels: I currently live and work on a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 catamaran. - What are your plans with the boat? I will fix it up, run it on nothing but green electric power, and sail off into the sunset. Stay tuned for the growing build and the adventures to come! - How do you find all these cool places we see in the videos? To gain access to my complete research and the world traveller’s map I curate during my explorations off the beaten path, you need to hit me up on Patreon. Here are a few websites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/, https://www.campendium.com/, http://www.atlasobscura.com/, https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - How do you afford your lifestyle? I live and travel economical by using free camping and mooring, cooking my own meals, thoroughly researching products and how-to’s online, practicing a DIY approach, and being as efficient as possible with my resources. I've struggled financially for most of my life, and although I'm blessed with helpful friends and family as well as being able-bodied, white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to pursue your passion. So, I learned that you DO need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, and a traditional career but that it IS possible, worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes me happy. I make my income almost entirely by creating content for YouTube, but it's a tight budget. Ad revenue, business sponsors, affiliate links, Patreon, Paypal donations, and merchandise sales bring in about as much as a part-time job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough, I go back to regular work such as photography, videography or construction, but that takes the focus away from my own projects. - How does your dog fit into this lifestyle? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with Champ anyways, since we enjoy similar things, like eating food and being outdoors. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make decisions about where I go and what I do, so I avoid places that ban dogs, and therefore spend more time in nature instead of in cities. - How do you make it work as a digital nomad? My electrical power set-up allows charging my camera and laptop to film and edit almost daily. For Internet access quick and reliable enough to upload my episodes a few at a time, I use coffee shops and libraries. I also use a data package on my phone (10GB), a WiFi antenna, and a WiFi booster.

For more details about "DreAMboat" and other yachts check out Superyacht Times' YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/superyachttimes Last week I was back in The Netherlands filming the second in a series of documentary videos about the ICON shipyard. While I was there, a tremendous amount of activity was going on around me in other shipyards in the country. Amels, Heesen, OceAnco, and Van der Valk all had significant deliveries of various kinds. Each one is exciting in it's own right, but I have to admit that the "little" BeachClub 600 being built by Van der Valk has really won my heart!
Hello Friends, On this episode (Part 3) we finish laminating and trimming the alcohol stove enclosure for the boat. This is a slow process that takes days as you can only laminate one piece at a time, wait at least 24 hours then trim it off and do the next piece. We finally get to the point of cutting the bottom/transition/back of the interior space of the enclosure. This required a very precise cut and good team work when it came time to set the piece in place coated with contact cement. In the next video we will get all of the teak trim cut to size and mounted then we will be ready to take it to the boat, screw it in and make some tea on the new gimbaled stove! Thanks for watching! We sailed all the way to Manjack Cay to have dinner with these guys. The experience wasn't as pleasurable as we thought. They had no table manners, what so ever. In part one of this episode we left Grenada in our hurricane damaged boat headed for Los Roques, Venezuela. We give the mainland a wide berth to avoid pirates so the passage takes 4 days. See PART ONE here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqARpYaNhlc In this episode we get through a squall which hits us from behind, miss a good fishing opportunity, and the crew talk about what it is like to do their first proper crossing. http://tulasendlesssummer.com/shop-tula/ One of the most difficult boat jobs I think I have ever encountered was trying to hold the nuts on the inside of our "pin" plates. It was super tight in there, hot, and I couldn't reach my arm though so I had to tape wrenches to poles to reach. Also, drilling through thick SS with a hand drill isn't easy. Also, digging holes for the rudders through the packed gravel wasn't easy. Also, getting those compression tubes upright and to the center of the beam wasn't super easy either. Although, that went smoother than I thought. Anyway, here are some tough boat yard jobs that we've been working on for the past couple weeks. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it. Much love Carla and Simon https://noforeignland.com/home/map/boat/6152623245754368/

Also großes Segelboot vs. kleines Segelboot. Among those waiting to greet him was the man who had started it all, the first man to lap the planet non-stop and alone, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston. We hear from both, plus the man who just missed out despite a 15,000 mile epic chase - second placed Mark Slats describes his trip around the world.

In this episode we sail to Nassau to attend our US Visa appointment. We have a few days at anchor waiting for our application to be approved and as the wind picks up we spend most of the day stopping other boats hitting into us. After escaping the city atmosphere to Rose Island with our friends our Visas are finally approved and we set sail for the States! But with strong winds and big swell we have a rough 24 hours, then with a hugely inaccurate forecast we end up having to anchor and wait for more favourable winds. **PATREON** https://www.patreon.com/svborabora If you would like to support the making of our videos and help worthwhile causes at the same time, click the link above to become a Patron. A long and squally sail from Dominica to jaw-dropping Antigua. Here we savour a couple of unforgettable days of hiking through fields of butterflies and dancing to reggae with our Aussie crewmates Mike and Kristy. We had shared a lot of memories with these two and been through a lot together over the last couple of weeks. They had definitely become part of the furniture. So it was inevitable that Xanthe turned on the waterworks for the dearly de-pirated. Nothing a stunning anchorage and a bit of freediving can't fix though. It's a big call but we are willing today this could even be the world's most perfect anchorage. A short swim to the beach is a rare treat, not to mention having S.V DELOS as our neighbours. We chose not to bother them because they had their families on board for Kazza and Bryan's wedding. We did however exchange many smiles and waves (and probs a few shakkas). Thanks for watching guys. In this video, BuzzFeed producer Erin Phraner bakes blender muffins for her baby Charlotte who is just learning to eat solid foods. These baby-friendly muffins are perfect for baby-led weaning... BABY-LED WEANING BLENDER MUFFINS Makes: about 24 mini muffins 1 cup old-fashioned oats 1 cup applesauce 1 (6-oz) container yogurt 1 large egg 1 tsp baking powder Berries, fruit or puree (optional) 1. Preheat the oven to 350˚F. Line a mini muffin pan with paper liners & spray with coconut oil if you’d like (you can skip but they do stick slightly) 2. Put all of the ingredients in a high-power blender in this order and blending, scraping the sides when you need, until smooth 3. Divide batter among the cups and bake 10-12 minutes or until golden. Let cool before serving. Make-Ahead: Store in the refrigerator up to 3 days or freeze and reheat in the oven / microwave, as needed. I’ve been looking forward to baking Charlotte her very 1st treat since FOREVER lol Typically I make a big deal out of these things but I had these 5 ingredients on-hand & whizzed ‘em up in the blender to see if I could make a quick baby-friendly muffin batter. YES! Success. Charlotte lovveesss these & they’re perfect for baby-led weaning; easy to hold, all good ingredients & no added sugar. I sweetened them by added frozen organic blueberries to half & my homemade strawberry puree to the others. I’ll include the recipe below with a few notes in case you’re interested! . . . RECIPE: In a high-powered blender, blend 1 cup old-fashioned oats, 1 cup unsweetened applesauce, 1 (6-oz) container full-fat yogurt, 1 large egg + 1 tsp baking powder until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Divide among paper-lined mini muffin tins. (Optional: top with fruit and / or your choice of baby puree for sweetness) Bake in a 350˚F oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden; let cool. Store them in the fridge for a few days or freeze, microwave when needed. . NOTES: Keep in mind these are baby-friendly muffins, they’re not going to taste or feel like the big, fluffy, buttery, sweet muffins we know & love as grownups, they’re dense & yogurt-y & Charlotte really digs that | I make homemade applesauce to mix into Charlotte’s food each week but I’m going to try with store-bought next | We’ve been introducing new foods one-at-a-time & Charlotte tried all of these ingredients already (minus baking powder) which is why I felt it was safe | Next time I’m going to spray the muffin cups with coconut oil because they did stick slightly #babyledweaninhg

YouTube has started disabling comments sections of family based YouTubers and parent bloggers - they are also demonetising videos that they perceive as having unsavoury/predatory comments.. not content - but COMMENTS. Our mission has always been to produce informative, friendly and wholesome content for family viewing and our comment section has been the primary source of engagement, which we monitor carefully. So we have no idea why this has happened, how long it will last or why so many innocent channels like ours are effected. We’ve had ZERO communication from YouTube on this and can only apologise. WE DID NOT DISABLE THE COMMENTS SECTION and don’t see why they are persecuting creators like us or how this will prevent any perceived threat to kids on YouTube. Please follow the links below to our other channels if you need to communicate with us. In our wintering marina, we were overjoyed to be surrounded by several families cruising with kids. We did lots of fun things together going for beach walks, laser tag, the children got very creative doing cooking, arts and crafts and the adults experimented with new cultural habits such as eating deep fried #mars bars. The weather turned to rainstorms and all the families headed West to cross the Atlantic towards the Caribbean. We were all very sad to say goodbye . We took some walks along the beach and the children couldn't resist a swim. The girls then set up a whole fashion show on the pontoon while the boys provided the backdrop...kind of. Then the children decided to cook a feast of a meal for all their parents, by shopping cooking and even setting up a pop up restaurant on the pontoon entertained by live music. We took the children to #megazone or #laserzone as it is sometimes known and for more #beachwalks. The adults also had some fun and our Scottish friend introduced the deep fried mars bar challenge, which we decided would be a good criteria for completing the Atlantic #ARC race for #cruisers. As the fair weather turned to rain and storms, the cruising families set sail and headed West towards the Caribbean. We were all sad to say goodbye and the children seem to struggle even more with the farewells. We reflected on the reason why we could not go with them this year and thought about the places still to explore in the Med for one more season. PLEASE NOTE: YouTube have disabled comments on family channels because they sometimes feature kids.
