Lionfish are the scourge of the Caribbean! Let's hunt and eat as many as we can! They lay millions of eggs, feast on other juvenile fish species, and have no natural predators in the Caribbean. We’ve hunted lionfish for a long time and thought it would be cool to share what we’ve learned about this problem with y’all. We begin this episode by explaining how we choose dive sites by looking at our nautical charts, knowing that large drop-offs and changes in depth coupled with current usually make for excellent diving. Our chosen area is too far to take Maggie, so we weigh anchor on Delos and sail out to Little Tobago. The scuba diving is out of this world! The only problem is the reef is ripe with nasty ole’ lionfish. We decide to do our part by hunting as many as we can and sharing a few facts about them. Nate cuts open their bellies to show how they feast on other juvenile fish species, and how to cut the spines off to avoid being stung. By the way, they are easy to clean and absolutely DELICIOUS. Milling our planking stock out of our donated cedar and working on figuring out our bronze floor timbers! Buckle up because there is a lot of information here. A lot goes into this project behind the scenes that we don't talk about. Most of that is the mental game of figuring out how to do what we need to do. That also includes learning as much of the ins and outs of the process and why it is done that way. When it came to planking, we researched a myriad of different options at our disposal to come up with the most appropriate way for us. In the end, that meant learning about the local use of our Northern White Cedar and how to deal with its quirks (mainly bunging knots). As for the floor timbers, it was learning about wood, metal and composite floors, along with the pros and cons of each. Once we decided that Bronze Floors were likely one of the better options, we had to decide between casting them and welding them and what would be most convenient and affordable. So! When doing this be sure to not to apply to much pressure, you can easily go through the skin of the avocado and cut your fingers. If you are not sure you can do this without cutting through the skin grab a hot pad to hold the avocado as you slice it.If you are looking for dices avocado simple cut from the other direction across your slices. Once you have the avocado sliced simple take a spoon and scrape between the skin and the meat of the avocado. Local blogger Angie Soeffker explains how the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta gave her island hope in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

We've wanted to snorkel the shipwreck of the SS Sapona ever since learning about it 3 years ago. Our time has finally come to explore this nearly 100 year old wreck so we sail our sailboat right up along next to the Sapona and we lay anchor. This shipwreck is located about 2 miles South of Bimini and is sitting in 15 feet of water. It's a concrete hulled steam ship that ran aground during a hurricane in 1926. In addition to being smashed by nearly 100 years of storms and hurricanes, the SS Sapona shipwreck was used for target practice by the US military! Suffice it to say that this wreck has had a HARD life. All things considered, it's truly amazing that so much of it is left standing after all this time. We loved snorkeling the Sapona. It was also really cool that we were able to row our dinghy right inside it despite the winds blowing 15 knots and the conditions being quite choppy. Hopefully the drone footage of the SS Sapona wreck throughout this video helps to communicate how large and intact the vessel still is. It's a very impressive shipwreck and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with the SS Sapona. Thanks for watching!! **NOW SOLD** Suite 2 is a 2014 Lagoon 52 Flybridge in great condition that is now listed exclusively for sale with YOTI Multihull in Southport, Queensland.https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/lagoon-52f-suite-2 Delivered with nearly every box ticked, Suite 2 was impeccably specified by her very experienced and fastidious first owners.  From the moment you board Suite 2, there is a feeling of space and light. Her cockpit is spread across two seating areas with a separate dinette to starboard and lounging area to port. There is a wet bar, drinks fridge and ice maker to forward in the cockpit. The saloon has a great sized galley to port with a cooker/ oven, dishwasher, front opening fridge and very usable storage. To starboard is another huge dinette with U shaped leather seating. Centrally forward is the navigation desk with duplicate navigation instruments and engine panels.  Moving below, the owners' cabin is to starboard. Entering midships you appreciate the sheer size of this stateroom, with desk, settee and aft the huge athwartships island bed. Forward is the superb bathroom with double washbasins, with separate toilet and enclosed shower.  Midships in the port hull is a pantry with domestic size fridge/ freezer, washer dryer and roller door type storage. Forward is another double cabin, again with a good sized island double with separate ensuite and shower. Accessed privately from the cockpit is a huge guest cabin with island double and a huge ensuite and shower.  The Flybridge is set up to control the whole boat. Visibility from the helm is fabulous, with all the electric manoeuvring and mainsheet winches within easy reach. At the helm is a Raymarine touchscreen GPS with radar/AIS and anchor and bow thruster controls.  Her easy to handle rig features a carbon boom with integrated lazy jacks and boom bag, furler self tacking jib and Screecher on a furler, all controlled from the flybridge.  'Suite 2' is powered by twin 75hp Yanmar diesel engines, with low hours and an Onan 17.5kva genset. Also optioned at order was the 60000btu air conditioning to saloon and cabins and bow thruster. A Stella 180L/h water maker was later added to make her total self sufficient. A large RIB can be stored on the davits, with an electric winch to operate the hoist lines. A custom extension allows additional storage for a canoe.  In June 2019 several upgrades were completed including installation of C-zone digital switching giving you complete control and monitoring of all electrical components on your boat from the touch of a button, new shorepower, new Mastervolt Charegmaster battery charger, new Raymarine GPS display and Multi displays, new Raymarine Autopilot, new TV and antenna. https://youtu.be/5F7iNnb116s This Lagoon 52 Flybridge is an absolute turnkey Bluewater cruising catamaran, with every conceivable option fitted and is awaiting her next adventure.
