We had a great encounter with two dolphins during a wreck dive on the wreck of the Giannis-D in the Red Sea near Hurghada. The dolphins remained curious and responded to our movements.

Driving from Port Resolution on the east coast of Tanna to Lenekel on the west we pass the lava fields of Mt. Yasur Volcano. The volcano has a great influence on the whole island, particularly the Cargo Cults of The Prince Phillip and John Frum Movements. We discover a bit more as we visit both of them. The tribe from Yakel had featured in a television series in the UK where 5 of them had travelled there to live with various classes of people, culminating in a visit to Windsor Castle and an audience with Prince Phillip. Karl Pilkington had also paid them a visit in his series "An Idiot Abroad" The film "Tanna" a similar tale to Romeo & Juliet had been made featuring them and was nominated at The Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Our first visit was to The Blue Cave, where you have to swim a short distance underwater to enter the huge cavern filled with rays of natural light from a hole in its roof.

We're so happy to bring this episode to you because now are are getting to the really exciting cruising footage of NORWAY!! Before we can enjoy the country and all it has to offer though, we need to make it across the North Sea. We'd heard these can be troubled waters, and although things started out fairly smooth, although with some surrounding showers, we quickly found the motion of the ocean out here wasn't agreeing with us. We spent about 40 hours of this 50 hour passage flat on our back and barley able to move....but it was all worth it when we arrived to Norway and the sun started shining brightly. We return back to the states and work on the boat in Fort Lauderdale. After all, we were in the heart of the boat capital. Marine stores on every corner, shopping, dinning, and air conditioning! It was a nice change to be back in the land of plentiful things, but we were anxiously awaiting our next passage and out of the concrete jungle. While tied up on the dock, we repaired our downwind parasail that we ripped on our passage to Turks & Caicos, removed the old boat and name and finally made it our own! Provisioned and stocked up the boat for our next move south. We had welcomed back my dad, Jacques and his friend Lenny for our sail down to Cuba. On this sail we experienced one of the most scariest moments yet while at sea. Half way on the crossing we sailed directly into a lightning storm. There was no direction we could turn and run from it so we had to punch right through it. Luckily, we made it our of the storm safely and finally made our destination to Marina Hemingway. Serenade is no longer for sale by JMYS. Serenade is a 2008 model, US built, Navigator 5100 Motoryacht with low hours and in excellent condition moored in Long Beach, CA. Serenade has been lovingly enjoyed and actively used by an experienced yachting couple. Primarily operated as a weekend getaway traveling with family and friends to Catalina Island with some coastal exploring adventures in between, the sellers have taken the time to look after her with conscientious care. Navigator Yachts, built in Southern California, have developed an outstanding worldwide reputation for quality craftsmanship for their line of raised pilothouse motor yachts. Navigator Yachts trademark features are their efficient hull design, smooth ride over a wide range of speeds and superb visibility from the pilothouse. Serenade carries on all of these traditions in style. Her classy upscale interior and cherry wood finish are contemporary and refreshing. She is air conditioned throughout and her interior layout is easy to get around in with a priority made for comfort and convenience. Her current owners have maintained her to the highest standards, and she looks like new, inside and out. The saloon and galley comprise the entry level. There are large windows to take in the view and plenty of space for entertaining and dining. The galley has a thoughtful layout for preparing meals and feels especially large as it shares an open-air connection to the pilothouse. Operating Serenade from the pilothouse puts you in an active central location. The pilothouse has a starboard side door to go forward and an interior staircase that takes you to the flybridge and boat deck. Going forward you descend a flight of stairs to reach the VIP stateroom in the bow and the master stateroom aft (each with an ensuite head and shower). Her spacious interior feels much larger than other Navigator 5100 yachts thanks to her 2-cabin layout below the deck. The twin Volvo engines have been on a regular service schedule for reliability. Serenade is quiet, smooth running and can run comfortably in the teens when you want to pick up the pace. There is plenty of outdoor living space beginning with the swim platform and cockpit on the lower level for swimming and arriving by dinghy. Aloft on the upper deck is a single level flybridge that connects with the tender storage and up forward includes seating and appliances for entertaining and enjoying the view. Serenade is well equipped with numerous systems for safety and convenience allowing you to arrive at your destination in comfort and style. From the water maker to the bow and stern thrusters, she is fully loaded with many popular options. One impressive upgrade is her Yacht Controller remote docking system. This feature makes docking easy from anywhere on the boat. Two other unique features that set Serenade apart are a custom hydraulic folding radar arch on the top deck (for bridge clearance) and a custom extra-tall stainless-steel refrigerator in the galley. Serenade is an ideal coastal cruising motor yacht that is fun to operate, comfortable to enjoy and capable of taking you for local adventures over to the islands or along the coast.
