Righting the Tiwal 3 is a child's play : 1. Make sure that the sheets are eased and the daggerboard is out. 2. Face the boat into the wind holding it from the front. 3. Stand on the wing and use your body as a counterweight by holding on to the daggerboard. Be careful that it is the boat and not the daggerboard that supports the weight. It is preferable to hold the daggerboard in the middle and not at the end. Do not force or climb on the daggerboard. (You risk damaging it). Gradually right the boat. If it is difficult to turn upright, check that the mast is not stuck in the sand or another obstacle. Don’t force it or you may damage the mast and/or the daggerboard. Warning : do not remain under the hull or the wings when the boat is righted. Keep facing the boat into the wind until someone is on board and in control of the boat. 4. Climb on from the front. WARNING : NEVER LET GO OF THE BOAT. • If you fall in the water, keep a hold of the boat even if it has capsized. A sailboat drifts faster than someone swimming. • The minimum passenger's weight on board must be 50 kg to right the boat in the event of capsizing. -------------------------- ** The Tiwal 3 Sailboat ** The Tiwal 3 inflatable sailing dinghy comes in two bags that are easily transportable by car, boat and even by plane. This small inflatable sailboat is easily assembled in 20 minutes without any tools. Easy to handle, its sailing qualities will give you a thrilling experience. Very responsive, stable, and comfortable in light winds, the Tiwal 3 is dynamic in more challenging conditions. Whether you’re sailing solo or double-handed, it is perfect for your adventures at sea or on a lake! Boat of the Year Award | Best Innovation | by Sailing World U.S.A. "The thing was a blast. I couldn't believe how well it sailed. You could have some serious fun with this, especially in big breeze." -------------------------- ** The Tiwal story ** * The Birth of Tiwal * As a girl, the first time our founder Marion Excoffon was told, “No!” by her father when she asked to use the family boat, her life as an inventor began. It was then she started dreaming of building her own craft, an ambitious feat that would come true years later. On the road to creating an innovative high-speed vessel for everyone from kids and first timers to expert sailors who want to test limits, there were a number of prototypes, failures, challenges and headaches. But, if there’s one thing Marion’s known for, it’s her sailor’s grit! * Combining Fun & Technology * The award winning Tiwal concept is easy assembly and storage - maximum fun and performance for watersports and activities. A Tiwal isn’t your average dinghy! Our design is the result of tons of coordination, talent, and technological savvy. * A Growing Global Community * For our community of Tiwal skippers (more than 2,500 worldwide!) all this innovative design means their focus is fixed on the pleasures of watersports and having tons of fun on a responsive sailing craft. With excellent upwind and downwind abilities combined with high-speeds, Tiwals are a part of both fun and professional performance. The Tiwal 3 received the Boat of the Year (Best innovation) Award 2014 from Sailing World in the USA and the Red Dot Award, with recognitions, accolades, and smiling faces continuing to join together on the waves worldwide.

We hauled out our Sparkman & Stevens 50 at Cracker Boy Boatworks in Ft Piece Florida. With a long list of projects, our "week on the hard" turned into two, then three weeks. As for the list, I think it's actually longer than before...
This video covers all the passage from Trinidad to the Galapagos Islands. It was one of the most popular Blue Water Destinations series. The Panama Canal section is longer as is the trip to Angel Falls. Not for the faint of heart in either sailing or viewing time! My sailing books are available to download here http://www.gentlesailing.com Very sad it's no longer really safe to visit mainland Venezuela but I imagine the islands are probably OK but you should seek local advice. The ABC's are clearly 100% OK

Suunto Ambassador, pioneering cave diver, explorer and author Jill Heinerth talks about Diving Physiology in Episode 2 of this four part series. More about Jill at: http://www.IntoThePlanet.com In Episode 2 of Dive In, Jill discusses how your dive computer calculates ascents or decompression stops as we delve deeper into the basics of diving physics and physiology for both recreational divers, and those who dive beyond. Having discussed how bodies store and release inert gas in the last episode, this week Jill examines how your dive computer calculates the mathematical predictions that work out how the body gets rid of the gas, off gassing, and how an ascent is just the beginning of the off-gassing process. Off gassing ends when the body has reached and equilibrium with the surface. In this video I go in depth on what a displacement hull is, how it works, and why it's good. We'll also talk about its one major setback: maximum hull speed. This video is part of a larger series on boat hull types. Check it out here: https://youtu.be/VaZC0aMLOkQ
Quick demonstration on two methods of Cable Wrapping. In day to day cable use, it is critical to wrap the cables properly. 1. It will extend the life of the cable drastically. 2. It helps you to stay organized. Bands & Corporate events DO notice these things. 3. You may not need the full length of the cable every time, so I demonstrate how to effectively use what you need and leave the rest coiled up ready to be wrapped for a quick tear down. We are so excited!! Are you ready for this announcement? If you are new here... we are a Brazilian couple that have just bought a 44ft hot galvanized steel sailboat (Dinieper Tropic 1200) and is on the mission of bringing her back to life after 22 years abandoned on the hard. Once we are done, the plan is to sail her to our home town Florianópolis so we can finish building our land base, a Tiny Shipping Container House that we are building ourselves without any prior experience. On the smooth seas and dodging fishing nets on our way, it turns out to be a pants dropper!! https://www.sailingnandji.com/ In this episode of Sailing Nandji, our visas are up in Thailand and we need to do the typical sailing visa run in the area to Langkawi. We never thought we would be heading back to this land after spending 3 months in the boatyard here and honestly when we left, the last thing we could ever think of was coming back to Langkawi. But as our story evolves and plans change, we need to return to the island once again. With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off from Australia sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then back down into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra to live the island life and chase the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we have returned to Thailand to wait for the weather and begin our journey to the northern route of the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka before heading south to Chagos and across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trade winds begin! The adventure is just beginning as we plan to sail our Nandji girl around the world!! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since sailed over 10000nm offshore. We have explored some amazing countries and met some beautiful people along the way. We have experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our lives doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades around the World! EPISODE #112 ; A Peaceful Sail Home... (Also, Camille parks the Boat for the first time!) Hello Friends, On this weeks episode we leave Emerald Bay and head back home. As soon as we leave the anchorage we are met with 12 - 15 knot winds and happily sail hard until they give out a mile or so off shore. The winds turned out to be an offshore breeze created by the island but it was fun while it lasted. We enjoyed a lovely warm sail home just enjoying the water and the weather and as the afternoon approached winds came up to between 8 - 10 and we had a wonderful sail home. During this trip Camille did her beer review for Propolis Brewing "Oceanna" that we published during Season 3's Yacht Delivery Chronicles. You can see her full review here: https://youtu.be/JloPrgzonHY The other fun highlight of this trip was as we came in to the marina Camille parked the boat for the first time ever and did a FANTASTIC job! I talked her through the process since the hardest part of parking a boat is not knowing how the vessel handles / turning radius in small spaces. She did great and is excellent at driving boats! We also have an new episode of A STERN VIEW PODCAST up online for Emerald Bay. You can find that wherever you get your podcasts from!
