Cubera snapper are THE apex reef predator fish. They rule the reef, even chasing sharks away when they want. They are powerfully strong, have large thick scales, and big teeth. Yet are very smart and often know to avoid humans. BUT they are VERY tasty. Hands down my favorite reef fish to eat with delicious flakey white meat. Many incorrectly assume a tropical large reef fish like this would have Ciguatera. But they would be incorrect. Because as these fish grow, their diet changes. As I show in this video, this cubera snapper, is eating a lot of stingrays, instead of smaller herbivores reef fish. Meaning it is not bio-accumulating the ciguatoxin. Meaning this fish IS safe to eat, and fed many! We are giving our alloy tender some TLC and doing some up upgrades on her. Making a floor for the tender, fiberglassing some pods on the back to make getting in and our of the tender easier and we are making a DIY "kaptens collar" out of recycled EVA foam mats to make the tender more stable for our family. There are certain things you're required to have aboard your boat. The Numbus C11 is an outstanding hull and in a previous video I was able to experience this in NZ on an inboard diesel version. In this video we had outboards and some lumpy offshore conditions which was just awesome to be able to triel the boat in. If you're in a warmer climate and plan on using a boat like this as a commuter for the whole family then this video could be a sensible use of your time. This is a serious boat that is best suited to the boater who know's exactly what he/she enjoys doing on the water. But if you have that clear mission in mind and that mission involves big ocean, cold winds or harsh sun/heat then you will appreciate the C11. I'm going to say this was one of the most enjoyable rides i've had in lumpy conditions this year. USS Harder (SS-257), a Gato-Class submarine was launched on August 19th, 1942, and sailed her first patrol in the Pacific on June 7th, 1943. Under the command of Samuel Dealey, Harder quickly became one of the most effective American submarines of World War II. But a fateful mission in 1944 cut her career tragically short. Incredibly, her wreck was discovered in May 2024 at the bottom of the West Philippine Sea.
