What do you do when you need to install solar panels, but you don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on an arch? Do it yourself, of course! With stainless tubing, rail fittings and lots of hard work, we build a solar arch and install our new 320-watt solar panels. We also try not to electrocute ourselves while doing the wiring, moving the radar up the mast and replacing our batteries. With all the crazy work going on, we also are preparing to set sail to Mexico, and that includes lots of paperwork and bureaucracy. So Hillary takes a trip to the Mexican consulate to work on getting our TIP, or temporary Import Permit for Varuna. For those of you who want to know know the nuts and bolts of our solar upgrade, here is exactly what we installed: Panels: LG 320-watt http://www.lg.com/us/commercial/solar-panels/lg-LG320N1C-G4 Charge Controllers: http://amzn.to/2fqvb3b Bluetooth Dongle: http://amzn.to/2fqwtvi Mast Mount: http://amzn.to/2fqCKac Fittings used: Seadog brand We hope you enjoy our videos and adventures. If ever a film needed a better thumbnail, then its this one... but there is not much you can show that will make this any more interesting than it is I'm afraid. So this is just a short update on how we fixed the hole! Thanks to Mads at Sail Life for the scraper tip, check out his channel for loads of great boat maintenance ideas. I use a DIY travel box for my Brompton. It's worked really well. The bike is fully protected, and I can go from riding to packed, or packed to riding in under 15 minutes.

Fellow boaters - I'm thrilled to share my latest project with you: MaintenanceROS! Crafted from my experiences aboard Starry Horizons, it's designed to simplify vessel and maintenance management, making life on the water even more enjoyable. Explore https://MaintenanceROS.com and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount for the first 6 months using promo code 'outchasingstars'. Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** The time had finally come for us to leave French Polynesia and all its amazingness behind, so we planned to set off for Niue. Through a series of weather related change in plans, we ended up actually sailing to Beveridge Reef! If there’s one thing we’ve learned about cruising, it’s that you go where the wind takes you! This passage was filled with a bit of craziness, including squalls with high winds and 40 degree shifts, more books being read than should be humanly possible, and worst of all, a DRONE FREAK OUT in the middle of the Pacific. Fortunately, we didn’t lose Phoenix and managed to make it into Beveridge Reef without any damage to the boat or us, so that’s definitely a win! Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** Our visit to Bora Bora turned into an amazing under the water adventure. We were a bit apprehensive given the island's touristy reputation, but the snorkeling was some of the best we’d ever seen. The water was crystal clear, there were fish everywhere and Amy’s biggest dream came true when we got to swim with Manta Ray’s! All in all, we did 6 snorkel trips + 1 dive trip, swimming with all manner of black tipped reef sharks, lemon sharks, barracudas, sting rays and more fish than we could keep track of! It wasn’t all fun in paradise though as we had to get creative to fill our butane bottle and got to experience the joy of South Pacific time trying to clear out of French Polynesia. But after three months in French Polynesia, the good definitely outweighed the bad and Bora Bora helped us leave on a high note! Well I was looking at lights on Amazon for my office/studio, I then got to reading about how setting your exposure on your camera can help. Well my camera is my phone, but I was able to make a few changes to improve my green screen. It is not the best, but I still think this is really good for a ceiling fan light, a light bulb in an umbrella, Walmart green material, and a phone camera. Well I thought I would try to make a temporary light to improve the contract between me and my green screen. Well it did not work that well, I may need more separation from me and the screen. I think it will help during the day when I can pull light in to the other side of the green screen from the window. It is fun learning, I have had no formal training doing any of this. ***** Raiatea and Tahaa are surrounded by one large barrier reef which essential turned two islands into one big adventure. First up was a visit to Marae Taputapuatea in Opoa in Riatea. This is one of the largest and well preserved marae complexes in all of French Polynesia and was a fascinating way to learn more about Polynesian culture. Next up was a personalized guided tour up a river with our new friend James where we learned more about the island and picked up some fruit and coconuts. Our last stop on Raiatea took us up to Uturoa for some reprovisioning and a surprise run in with a spear fishing tournament. After Uturoa, we headed up to Tahaa. The main attraction was a coral garden which unfortunately turned out to be a bit disappointing, but at least the view from the air turned out to be well worth it! A beep will sound, and the indicating light will turn on. 2) Immediately press the y button on the front of the remote transmitter (the right hand button) once and the receiver collar will beep indicating the 2 devices have been paired, and the indicating light will turn off. Note you need to press the y button to pair the device within 10 seconds of the 1st beep for pairing to be completed. If the device does not pair successfully, press the rest button with the included pin and try again. Test your device to make sure it works on each mode. When testing vibrate or shock modes, ensure that the level setting is set to at least level 1. Note the default is 0 and needs to be moved to 1 otherwise you will not feel any vibration or shock. Pairing an additional collar also, if you pair the remote & receiver on channel 1, it will only work when the remote is set to channel 1. To pair channel 2, change you remote to channel 2 and repeat the steps above to pair a second collar.

Well, this is one of the first projects I outsourced in the new house, we had Canterbury Farms Nursery "http://canterburyfarmsnursery.com/" came out and give our backyard more of a tropical feel. Loved working with Canterbury Farms Nursery their staff was very professional answering all my stupid questions and their prices are very resalable. Well the title is a joke, but I thought I would play around with the green screen functionality on Filmora. I had green material leftover from the ATV speaker box, just having fun. "Sorry, Low Volume" I am really wanting to try a green screen, so I thought I would try it with a small piece of fabric I had left over from the fiberglass speaker box we built. Well it worked better that I thought it would. If I would have had more lighting I would have my image would have been sharper, but not bad at all. The cost of the little piece of felt I had left would run you a few dollars, add a few lights you have around the house, and you have yourself a working studio. Danielle and I were looking for me a desk, we both have offices now, and my desk is to small. We did not want to spend that much, and nothing online under $1000 looked very good. I wanted something simple, but really like real wood, so she suggested that we build a desk out of reclaimed lumber. We thought about sources of reclaimed wood, and agreed pallets would be the easiest to find. The pallets in the video we found the same day listed on Facebook. If we would have been more picky I guess we could have found newer pallets, but I wanted rustic. After hearing about the Heiva for months we knew we couldn’t miss out on seeing it. Turns out, it was a song and dance cultural extravaganza that we’ll remember forever. But before we got to see the Heiva, we had a few more fun adventures on Huahine first. We got to meet Paul, an incredibly friendly local who welcomed us to the island and gifted us some delicious coconuts. It took Amy a few tries, but now we know how to open them! Huahine is also famous for their blue eyed eels so we set a day aside to go find them and then do a bit of hiking. NB! The video only just got done uploading. It migth not be available in HD/4K where you're located yet. If not simply check back in a few hours :) In this video I paint the galley, build part of a vast oil tank (made from wood and epoxy) and brag about my new heater + dehumidifier. Update on the portligths: I've heard back from the company. Yes, I got a reply on a Sunday evening! That is fantastic customer service! The gap is totally normal. I need to use the screws to "pull in" the portlights. Phew! :D Links: Heater: http://www.harald-nyborg.dk/p11812/kerosun-laserovn-3000w Dehumidifier: https://www.meaco.com/meaco-dd8l-junior-dehumidifier-multi-award-winning.php Dohicky (track temperatur and humidity):http://www.sensorpush.com/ West System tank guide: http://www.westsystem.com/ss/wood-epoxy-composite-tank-guidelines/

(Check out the link below) Lots of boats showed up to celebrate how far we'd come and we enjoyed watching some traditional Polynesian dancing, including fire dancers!
