Mokuhooniki is off of the northeast side of Molokai. The video is a compilation of 5 dives over two days (12/9/10 & 12/13/10). With an abnormal wind pattern, the first day we spent our time exploring around the island. The second day we had intentions just looking for the hammerheads. Well unfortunately, we didn't find the hammerheads, but we did see a couple of large Galapagos sharks as well as tons of great fish & beautiful topography. Rocio is relatively new to sailing Snipes but just like her sister Trixy, they got a love of the boat from their dad who's been sailing Snipes for many years. There's a little bit of rivalry between the sisters and racing Snipes is a good way to make that rivalry fun. Rocio likes the sharing of information that's a part of sailing Snipes, even at this level at the Women's Worlds. There's a lot of using your head to get the boat around the course, but at the end of the day, you know you've accomplished something.

Fernanda hasn't been sailing Snipes all that many years but this is her second Snipe World Championship. She likes sailing the Snipe because it's a complete boat. It's physical and mental ability that determine the winner. Fernanca's seen how the people in the Snipe Class want to share information, both on the water and off. It's not just the tuning of the boat that you get help with, but also tactics. The Snipe is a very tactical boat. She recommends the Snipe to anyone looking for a boat when you want both Serious Sailing and Serious Fun.

Sailing has been in Trixy's blood since she was a little girl when she started in the Optimist Class at age seven. When she aged out, it was no surprise that she chose the Snipe. Her dad started sailing Snipes when he was 18. She's excited that the Snipe is a really complete boat, one that can be sailed competitively by young and old, big and small, because the boat can be tuned to the conditions of the day. You still have to use your head to finish well, tactics are very important. Most of all it's a fun boat to sail, especially when you finish 2nd at the Snipe Women's Worlds.

Il libro narra le gesta di don Mimì Lo Bianco, borseggiatore, abile col temperino a sfilare portafogli altrui. La sua vita scorre, tra alti e bassi, nel Vicolo Platone, a fianco della moglie Saruzza e di altri personaggi indimenticabili, come l'erudito Professore, che illustra il pensiero di Socrate agli avventori della taverna. Fino all'incontro con Teresa, affascinante donna dell'alta borghesia palermitana, che lo inghiottirà in un mondo nuovo, astruso e seducente. Comincerà da qui la seconda vita di Mimì, una vita da portare avanti mentre nel Vicolo, Saruzza mette al mondo i suoi figli. Mimì diventerà suo malgrado un antieroe dei due mondi, quello semplice e sanguigno del suo microcosmo e quello vizioso e annoiato della "città bene", fino al sorprendente epilogo della sua vicenda. Un romanzo che si legge come una full immersion nelle viscere di una Palermo capace ancora di sorprendere. Grazie a Josephine Lo Jacono per la sua ripresa amatoriale, ma fatta con il cuore.

Siri Kamfjord has only been sailing Snipes for two years but she knows that sailing the Snipe Women's Worlds in November in St. Petersburg is a whole lot warmer than staying in Norway. She sails with her cousin and was hoping the big fleet and light breeze wouldn't be too big a change from Norway where she has los of fun sailing in big breezes.

Maria Tato came to St. Petersburg to compete in the Snipe Women's World Championship. She knew she'd have a great time because Snipe sailors believe that having Serious Fun is just as important as the Serious Sailing. Maria likes sailing Snipes because competitors are more than willing to share ideas about how to go faster. That's important when you sail a tactical dinghy and even a little speed advantage makes calling tactics a whole lot easier.
