We woke up early in Sint Eustatius to start heading up to explore St. Martin. After a very pleasant sail we reached the beautiful island. We anchored at a bay towards the western side of the island and got checked in. After checking in, the first thing we did was going to church. We rented a car and went to church on Sunday, it was so amazing. We met a bunch of great people and it's always so heartwarming to meet wonderful people as we attend new churches. On the way back we went for a quick visit to Maho Beach. You've probably seen this place all over social media! The beach is right next to an airport so the landing planes were so close to us, it was so cool but scary! 😅 We then decided to spend time in the water with the kids and there were other families too. We met a lovely family from Switzerland who came along with us to sail a little north of the island. Our kids loved playing with the other kids in the water. The next day we tried to check out as planned but we couldn't do as the offices were closed. So we just spent the rest of the day around the area playing in the water and having a movie night. It was amazing to share the experience with other families! The next day we went back to try and get checked out. As always it was a very stressful process, but we got it done. Before leaving we decided to do some diving, super exciting every time! We then started to head to the British Virgin islands, but the winds were so bad and it was late, so we turned back and decided to spend the night in St. Martin. That night we got to experience a great festival. Overall, St. Martin did not disappoint us! 😍 Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for the next episode. ❤️ Enjoyed the video? For almost nine years, we've made videos documenting our sail around the world. Having you along with us for the adventures, the challenges and all the MANY things we've learned made the journey infinitely more meaningful. But all good things come to an end. So with heavy hearts, we're announcing that this is the end of the Out Chasing Stars YouTube channel. It takes an immense amount of time and effort to produce these videos. More and more, we found ourselves wanting to devote that time to other projects. Something had to give. We're not done yet with a life on the water. We still have a passion for exploring this beautiful world and meeting so many incredible people. Keep an eye out for Starry Horizons and be sure to stop in and say hi! The love and support we've received over the years has meant more than you could ever know. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our journey. #205 ✍️ 26 mai, 106 milles, cap 230º, vent 6,9 nœuds, position : 04º58'422 N ; 082º06'061 O. Le ciel reste couvert.

The Swimming Pool, in the East Holandes, San Blas is our best anchorage yet in 3 years of sailing. It has it all from a vibrant cruiser community, beautiful islands, good snorkeling, restaurants, veggie and fruit delivery boats, freshly baked bread, and so much more! Check out our video to see all of these amazing things! #sailing #sanblas #panama #anchorage #EASTHOLLANDES NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? The Press Conference, streamed LIVE from Cowes, for the 50th Edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race.
Kialoa II’s immensely experienced navigator Lindsay May takes us on the route to the Fastnet Rock and back to Cherbourg, explaining the critical decision points on the course, many of which centre on which side of the Traffic Separation Schemes to sail, given prevailing tide and wind conditions as you approach. Get those choices right and you can gain valuable miles; get them wrong and it can ruin your race!
Celebrating Milestones and Bracing Challenges. 50th Rolex Fastnet Race As we gear up for the 50th edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race, we find ourselves on the precipice of what promises to be an exhilarating journey of skill, strategy, and endurance. The forecast indicates brisk conditions at the start that could favor the larger yachts, with winds projected to reach up to 40 knots as competitors brave the 605-mile course. In the bustling hub of Cowes, UK, excitement is palpable. The boats are arriving, eager to reach the vicinity of the starting line for the Royal Ocean Racing Club's special anniversary race. However, sailors must brace for a challenging start reminiscent of the 2021 Rolex Fastnet Race. French meteorologist and offshore yacht race routing expert, Christian Dumard, has issued a weather forecast predicting strong winds and a rough sea state. Taking the meteorological factors into account, an amendment to the Sailing Instructions has been issued by the RORC’s race management team. The sequence of the IRC fleet setting off has been reversed, and the gap between individual class start sequences has been reduced to promote safety and ensure a fair start. As the countdown to the race commences, competitors steel themselves for a thrilling contest. The 50th edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race, with its demanding conditions, diverse fleet, and challenging course, underscores the unyielding spirit of offshore sailing at its best. Join us as we embark on this historic journey. #RolexFastnetRace #RORCracing #Rolex #Sailing #Yachting #IRCrating
Renowned Australian meteorologist Will Oxley, sailing in the Rolex Fastnet Race aboard Chris Sheehan’s Warrior Won explains his thinking on the weather routing implications for navigation, the challenges of getting out of the Solent in the forecasted heavy airs start and the need to adapt as the race progresses, given the complex weather patterns expected across the race course.
Crosbie Lorimer from Bow Caddy Media brings you a quick update on the race and the Aussie contingent that are taking part.
