A Regata Vela do Amanhã foi o esquenta da 50ª SIVI. As 160 crianças das 15 escolas de vela de São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro entraram numa disputa pra valer, com ventos de quase 20 nós de rajada, a bordo dos veleiros da competição. In tropical climates the rain often arrives with no previous warning. As such it is of extreme importance to have the yacht properly insulated against water infiltrations. Any tiny discrete inlet may let a lot of water inside, so all the effort must be put into this task. In this video I want to show you how I insulated a pathway through the mast cables that the rainwater was taking to drip significantly into the saloon of Winderlust. The used insulating material is the world famous Sikaflex. There are NO affiliations to the brand. It is actually a solid product that gets the job done and as such I often use onboard. While anchoring in the Marquesas, in some bays, the stern anchor is required, as in Hakahau at the island of Ua-Pou. Come check how I set it. After arriving in the Dominican Republic for hurricane season we dug out our dock lines in preparation to go into a slip. We knew we were going to have to replace our dock lines before we left the States so we bought 150 feet of 3-strand nylon. After 5 days on the dock, it was time to replace the old with the new!
