Zoetje, our first Schipperke dog was very fastidious dog. It took us a long time to train him to use his Astroturf carpets on the back deck. He rather go ashore ... or sometimes ... If he thought we would soon go ashore, he would cross his legs for sometimes more than a day! Zenne, our second Schipperke, a female, on the other hand, will use her carpet before any trip ashore! Since times past, sailors who cross the equator for the first time would go thru a special ritual. Zenne & Zwetke did cross the equator from the South Pacific into the North Pacific in 2010 sailing from Vanuatu to the Marshall Islands. This is their ceremony!
