In this episode, we arrive at St.Michaels, the very famous town that fooled the British!! We explore the picturesque and welcoming town that boasts an abundance of character and intrigue, set in the Chesapeake it is well worth a visit or a holiday destination After mingling amongst the shops and strolling the town James and I visit a cafe where the smell of cinnamon and all things sweet resonate.. James opts for a blood mary packed with shells and anchor straws! Never before seen!! ;) We stroll through the lanes of the houses dating back to the 1700s.. we stop for lunch at the very famous CRAB CLAW restaurant and James nearly has a 'Pretty Woman Moment'.. We head back to Aequus and continue our journey to Annapolis where we have a berth booked. However, our organisation goes to pot when we spend much of the afternoon trying to hail the marina, but to no avail and get 'left out in the cold', or in this case, we anchor in the middle of the inlet overnight. The next day we manage to get into the marina and receive the B&G repair guys and get started on much of the fixing and cleaning on Aequus. We take Peanut across the dodgy waters to Thursday Island to do a bus tour. We head up to Green Hill and wander around the guns and check out the war items in the many displays. We have a drink at Australia’s Top Pub, fill in our Census and get our Covid jabs. We then begin the sail back to Seisia to pick up parts but on the way the track begins to lift so Magnus has a go at a temporary fix. Then we do a short trip to the cold north back home to Sweden to see family and friends but we quickly return to Frida. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is not to go to a specific place but to reach a state of mind where we can really enjoy life. We love to explore the area we are in, meat fellow sailors and locals but also to just relax on the boat. But living on a boat almost full-time means that we do need to do quite a bit of maintenance and we want to share all of this with you through our videos. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea and in August 2020 we began our big adventure to sail along the Atlantic coast of Europe all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.
