For me, having not sailed for almost 2 years, it was great to get back out on the water. Here's a little video clip of that day, when we still managed to hit 9 knots with bugger-all wind! -- Sold! -- Big Toot is a Bruce Roberts design, custom built by the previous owner, to be very accommodating inside and out. This aluminum sedan style trawler is ideal for live aboard, long range cruising, or simply local cruising. The euro style transom has a large swim platform, almost at water level, with easy to use S/S swim ladder. The aft deck is accessed by stairs both port and starboard. This deck is under cover, where you can dine or simply lounge. There is a built-in seat along the transom and a varnished teak table.
Bild und Ton sind leider nicht optimal, aber besser so als gar nicht! Zur Sache: Bei jedem Skippertraining segeln wir Notmanöver. Das Video zeigt das so genannte "Hamburger Manöver", das wir bei 6 Bft. vor Heiligenhafen trainieren. Ich habe das Manöver bei Constantin Claviez entdeckt und nach seiner Beschreibung gelernt, es gibt kein Besseres. Hier die "Bedienungsanleitung" nach Constantin Claviez: 1. Mann über Bord! Crew alarmieren - MOB-Taste drücken - Rettungsmittel bereit halten. 2. Alle Schoten dichtholen und die Yacht auf Halbwindkurs bringen Das ergibt Raumgewinn zum Manövrieren und eine uneingeschränkte Manövrierfähigkeit - bis hin zur Gefahrenhalse. 3. Den Wendepunkt auf Höhe einer luv-/leewärtigen Linie zur Boje erreichen, indem bei Halbwindkurs der Kurs beibehalten, beim Am-Wind-Kurs abgefallen und beim Raumschotkurs angeluvt wird. 4. Die Yacht durch den Wind wenden, Fock bleibt back stehen. 5. Aktive Zielfahrt im beigedrehten Zustand und mit abnehmendem Speed aufs Objekt, das im Dreieck zwischen Vorstag und leewärtigen Wanten anvisiert wird (je nach Yacht unterschiedlich, auf "Kalami Star" lassen wir die Boje etwas an Backbord). 6. Im Einzugsbereich der Boje die Yacht rechtzeitig anluven, um mit geringstmöglicher Geschwindigkeit das Ziel zu erreichen. 7. Den Überbordgefallenen am leewärtigen Freibord des Schiffes fixieren. Den Verunglückten über das durch den Winddruck der backstehenden Fock niedrige Freibord an Bord hieven. Fazit Das Manöver ist leicht vermittel- und physikalisch gut nachvollziehbar. Die Yacht ist bei ausgewogenem Segeltrimm, mit dichtgeholten Schoten nahezu auf allen Kursen sogar einhand gut beherrschbar - einschließlich möglicher Gefahrenhalsen. Keine schlagenden Schoten und keine killenden Segel. Einfaches Handling der Yacht, kaum Verletzungsgefahr für die Crew und unter diesen Umständen größtmögliche Ruhe auf dem Schiff. Das niedrige Freibord (bedingt durch den Winddruck auf die backstehende Fock) ermöglicht die Bergung des Verunglückten an Bord. Das Manöver ist durch die vorgenannten Aspekte schnellstmöglich abgeschlossen, der direkte (Sicht)Kontakt zum Überbordgefallenen gewährleistet - wir haben 1:16 Min. benötigt.
