You couldn't have picked a worst week to go sailing! It was the middle of August but you needed both fleeces and coats if you wanted to keep warm and dry and it was blowing a F4-5 gusting 6 much of the time. Even the most die hard sailor would rather have just stayed at home but none of this stopped all the kids at this year's junior week having a fantastic time. It says a lot about the kids but even more about the club. Its a club that is run by its members for its members and the volunteers who took time out of there own lives to help teach these kids how to sail did the most amazing job. Elizabeth is one of those children who is just naturally scared of anything new to start with, and wasn't really sure what to expect. But even before the week had ended she had made sure that Mummy had it written into next years diary because she loved every minute of it and plans to come back again next year for more.

Competition could not have been closer for the opening fleet races of the RC44 Virgin Gorda Cup. The only consistent aspect of the day was the balmy 30°C temperature, with the wind speed having a far greater range than forecast, with two squalls passing through each bringing winds of up to 20 knots (and some rain) followed by 5 knots or less after. Similarly each of the four races had a different winner with Torbjörn Törnqvist's Artemis Racing coming out on top, with no score lower than fourth in the nine boat fleet, leaving the Swedish team two points ahead of the present fleet racing overall leader, Vladimir Prosikhin's Team Nika. This is the first of four days of fleet racing in the British Virgin islandsI at the end of which the RC44 Fleet Racing Champion will be crowned.

Perfect Pie Crust 1 1/4 cup butter 3 Cups Flour 1 teasp sea salt 1 egg 2 tablesp vinegar 3 1/2 tablesp water Roll our between 2 pieces of wax paper ~~~~~ Yummy Stuffing I had leftover organic olive bread and sour dough French bread that I cubed. About 3 cups, I'd guess. Fry 3/4 cup chopped celery, onion & mushrooms in butter. Add 1/2 cup chicken broth and 3 tablespoons more butter. Pour over bread and stir. Add 1/2 cup dried cranberries.
