Last year Junior week was extremely cold, extremely wet and extremely windy. This year it was very warm, very very dry and sunny but unfortunately not much in the way of wind. What do you need to cross an ocean? A level-head, an adventurous spirit and a sense of humor! Exciting news guys! I have completed the complete, 90+ minute movie from mine and Phillip's first trans-Atlantic this past June when we crewed aboard a 46' catamaran from Florida to France. It was an incredible adventure: 30 days of feats and failures at sea. I had a daunting amount of footage and photos to sift through when we returned, but I spent a lot of time trying to make a high-quality, realistic, engaging account of what an ocean crossing truly feels like for those of you who may be considering it, or who may be afraid to do it. La ripresa aerea, del tutto dilettantistica, è stata effettuata con Drone DJI Phantom 3 4K. L'intento è quello di fornire un contributo pratico affinché i crotonesi, ma tutti i calabresi, riflettano e prendano consapevolezza delle ricchezze naturalistiche che il circondario provinciale e l’intera Calabria possono offrire. E quale miglior punto di osservazione molto privilegiato se non dal cielo? Vedute e panorami mozzafiato!...il mare da cornice, le colline e la montagna da guarnizione ad uno spettacolo che riempie gli animi di gioia! Orbene, la pretesa è quella di suggerire agli amministratori della cosa pubblica ad adoperarsi perché vengano valorizzate quelle risorse che Madre Natura ha voluto donare a questo territorio...un porto naturale, quindi nautica da diporto e commerciale, ed una montagna da scoprire, da rispettare e da guardare con uno sguardo nuovo. Spero vivamente che ciò esorti i politici onesti, ammesso che ce ne siano ancora, ad adoperarsi fattivamente a promuovere luoghi che di per sé hanno già tutto per poter attrarre turisti e far sì che ci sia una ricaduta economica su un territorio tanto martoriato dalla disoccupazione e dall'ignoranza a tutti i livelli. Nel contempo auspico anche un sonoro e concreto risveglio delle coscienze intorpidite del territorio, perché urlino a gran voce e pretendano ciò che per troppo tempo è stato loro negato! Il turismo significa anche confrontarsi con persone di altre latitudini, altri modi di pensare..confronto vuol dire crescere in cultura..cultura vuol dire civiltà!..vogliamo rinunciare a tutto questo? Onoriamo ed onorate i nostri avi. Turismo!... e non inutili fabbriche del superfluo! Investiamo in Ambiente!..o forse tutto ciò non giova ai mediocri?... P.S.: le trivelle di estrazione del gas nel Golfo di Crotone sono veramente uno spettacolo pietoso di cui i nostri amministratori pubblici dovrebbero vergognarsi!!!!
