Follow the crew of Argo, home to Seamester's semester at sea study abroad and gap year programs, as they embark on their biggest challenge yet, sailing across the Atlantic Ocean.

The crew goes on a fishing expedition to the south end of Saloman Atoll in the remote Chagos archipelago and discovers an abandoned village vacated by the Chagosians over 50 years ago. Even though the village has an eerie vibe to it the chance to explore such an amazing place is just too much to pass up. We move Delos from our anchorage at Fuequet Island to Baddam Island to begin our exploration. In one of the abandoned ruined houses we find an old DVD disc, laying in the dirt, that details the history of the Chagosian people and how they were forcibly removed from their home and exiled from their islands. It's a crazy, crazy story..... There are lot's of abandoned buildings, camps, rubbish, and of course massive Coconut Crabs running around. During our time at Baddam the BIOT patrol boat shows up and invites us over for a BBQ on their massive ship. We have a hell of a party and end up spending the night. Good times were had by all! This is our story, a story of three souls sailing around the world. It is a story about sailing, but it's also a story about the fantastic people we meet and amazing places we see. It's a story of people living their lives in an alternate way, in close connection with the beautiful people and amazing planet that we call home. Our experience has affected us so profoundly we want to share it, hoping that others may find inspiration to follow their dreams and do what they love. It feels so good to be in the tropical Cape Verde! We're in the city Mindelo, São Vicente, after sailing from the Canaries. Mindelo is a city full of colors, noise and friendly people. RAN needs a bit of work but we have plenty of time to explore the city and the island São Vicente. So we moved in to our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. Le 6 novembre 2016 à 13h02 précises, les participants de la 8ème édition du Vendée Globe s’élanceront des Sables d’Olonne. Surnommée par le grand public « l’Everest des mers », c’est aujourd’hui la seule course à la voile autour du monde, en solitaire, sans escale et sans assistance. 30 marins prendront le départ, dont Bertrand de Broc. « L’objectif 2016 est de faire un meilleur temps qu’en 2012 soit moins de 85 jours. Terminer la course est un défi sportif en soi quand on sait qu’en moyenne la moitié de la flotte au départ n’arrive pas. Les améliorations apportées au bateau l’an dernier ont déjà porté leurs fruits pendant la Transat Jacques Vabre, et celles prévues cette année serviront à le perfectionner.
